Recommend Monday (again on a Sunday)

Good Monday All!

Hope your weekend was filled with all sorts of good stuff, including great reads.

I'm in the midst of revisions for MIDNIGHT LIES. What fun it is to return to Midnight and catch up on everyone. Lots and lots of surprises, twists, and gut wrenching emotion in this book. And I adore Quinn and Samantha! Hope you will, too.

Once ML is finished, it's back to Jake and Angela and CHANCES ARE to wrap it up so I can get it edited and ready for you. I hope you enjoyed the back cover blurb. If you haven't read it yet, just look at the post before this one.

Since I'm immersed in revisions and writing, I'm headed back into seclusion, hence the early post. No Internet or phone--it's painful but definitely keeps me focused.

I'm on my last Rita book and while I've enjoyed reading all the entries, I'm looking forward to reading great books that I can actually talk about.

So with that in mind, what great books did you read last week?

Have a wonderful last week of February everyone!

CHANCES ARE

She is his dream come true. He is her nightmare

Angela Delvecchio has always dreamed of being an LCR field operative. As LCR’s main researcher, she’s helped rescue victims, but always from the sidelines. Until now. Last Chance Rescue has been asked to assist the authorities in apprehending a serial killer terrorizing London. Angela knows this is her time and her mission.

After the murder of his wife, Jake Mallory stopped believing in anything good. Now, as an operative for Last Chance Rescue, he has found a new purpose but he’ll never let his guard down again. The beautiful and much too vulnerable Angela is a temptation like no other—one he dare not take. Hearing that she's going to be an operative is a surprise but Jake is stunned to learn her first assignment will be to bait and trap the Red Rose killer. Assigned to be her partner, Jake knows he wouldn’t have it any other way. He failed the last woman he cared about…he won’t fail Angela.

Angela thought going undercover as an exotic dancer would be the toughest part of the job and Jake thought keeping his hands off his partner would be his biggest challenge. They were both wrong. Taught to expect the unexpected, Angela faces events she never anticipated and Jake must allow the unthinkable. Now it’s a fight for survival because evil has more than one face, and to stay alive, death may be the only option.

Recommend Monday

Good Monday All!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend filled with rest and reading. Looking forward to hearing about the wonderful books you loved.

So, tell me, what you did you think of the CHANCES ARE cover. (If you missed it, it's in the post below this one) It's quite different from the others and I figure some of you are shocked. A couple of people have messaged me, fearing that I'm taking the LCR stories in a different direction. Nothing could be further from the truth. CHANCES ARE is definitely in line with all other LCR stories. What I loved about this cover was not only that it's beautiful and features a woman who looks just the way I picture Angela, but it actually has something to do with the storyline. This is a scene directly from the book. (Hint: Angela goes undercover as an exotic dancer)The story is tender, emotional, thrilling and full of surprises. LOL Sounds like I'm writing my own review!

Did you happen to notice I said book and not novella? Yep, this massive story has reached the point where it can no longer be called a novella. Also, the first draft is done! Yayayayayayay! However, there are still two or threes scenes I want to add which means it's going to be close to 70,000 words. Though that means a little longer on getting the story out to you, I think if I released it now you'd feel short changed. I do not want that. Take heart though, it will be done and in your hands in the not too distant future. I hope to share the back cover blurb with you this week so you can get a sense of these two wonderful characters and the adventure they're about to embark upon to arrive at their HEA.

Switching over to my Ella Grace persona for a moment, I received the back cover blurb for MIDNIGHT LIES, which you can read here: MIDNIGHT LIES  And I got a glimpse of the cover the other day. Wowza! It's beautiful and hot! Can't wait to share it with you when it's finished.

I've already received some lovely early reviews of MIDNIGHT SECRETS and I'm thrilled that readers are enjoying the story of Savannah and Zach. Will be so happy when April 30 arrives so we can all talk about it together!

Sorry, no recommends from me today--still reading through Rita entries. Also, this week, I'm returning to Midnight for revisions to Quinn and Samantha's story. Can't wait to revisit these wonderfully complicated characters!

Looking forward to hearing about your great reads from last week.

Stay warm everyone and have a most excellent day!

CHANCES ARE cover

Hi Everyone!

Hope you've had a fabulous week and had a wonderful Valentine's Day yesterday. I'm racing toward the end of CHANCES ARE but wanted to stop a moment and share the cover with you. I've posted it twice here but for some reason I'm the only one who can see it! However, I did finally manage to get it posted on my Facebook LCR page. Hope you'll come over and check it out. Once I figure out how to share it here, I will. Until then, come over and let me know what you think.

Recommend Monday

Good Monday Everyone!

Hope you had a good weekend and stayed safe from the massive snow in the Northeast and the torrential rain in the South. What a great weekend to stay inside and read! Do you have some fabulous recommends for us? Hope so!

Last week, I went far away from technology to finish CHANCES ARE. Unfortunately hubby was close to technology and saw several emails from my editor that I needed to address. So I had to cut my trip short and come home. Actually, it was fortunate he saw them because there were several issues to address--will get to that later. Bottom-line, I didn't get it finished before I came home. However, I did get a tremendous amount done and I'm pleased to say that with the exception of 1 1/2 scenes, CHANCES ARE is almost complete. And I'll also tell you that I love this novella! Jake and Angela really stepped up--beautiful, flawed, and definitely made for each other.

Since I didn't get to officially announce that CHANCES ARE is done, I'm going to give you the next best thing. This week I will unveil the super sexy cover. Though unlike any other LCR cover, it fits the storyline perfectly.

And if you're on Goodreads, I've added CHANCES ARE to my Goodreads list of books, so be sure to add it to your 'To Read' list.  CHANCES ARE Goodreads link

Oh, and speaking of covers, that was one of the issues my editor wanted to discuss. The cover for Ella Grace's second book, MIDNIGHT LIES, is almost ready. And let me just say, be prepared to do some major drooling. This guy is ripped to the max and gives the cover for MIDNIGHT SECRETS a definite run for its money in sexy and hot. Can't wait until I can show it to you.

I'm still in the midst of reading books for the Rita contest, so no new recommends for me. However, here's another question for you. In addition to your recommends, tell us a book that literally made you gasp it surprised you so much. I can think of two off the top of my head: Linda Howard's Death Angel and Pamela Clare's Naked Edge. There were events in both of these books I definitely didn't see coming. Love it when that happens!

As you know, Thursday, February 14 is Valentine's Day. Are you doing anything special for the loves in your life? That day is extra special for me because the UK edition of RETURN TO ME will be released. Take a look at the cover!

Okay, Jake, Angela and I are headed back to Paris, with a side-trip to London. Speaking of surprises, I think this novella will have several for you. Be on the lookout for one of them (the cover reveal) this week.

Now, tell us what we should be reading!

Have a great week all! And Happy Valentine's Day!

Recommend Monday! (A day early)

Good Monday All!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Saturday we had rain and I spent the day in the Birmingham Public Library with hundreds of avid readers and many awesome authors. What a lovely way to spend a rainy day. Sunday, though still a little chilly, is filled with sunshine.

You may wonder why I'm doing Recommend Monday on a Sunday. (I know there's a way to schedule blogs but I haven't had the chance to find out how yet) So here I am on Sunday saying hey for Monday. Ain't technology grand?

Last week was a very good week for Jake and Angela (well, other than the pain, tears, fear and general angst) but we're heading toward the happy ever after ending. Jake's already given me a hint of what's going to happen and it made me cry. Imagine that! :) However, we need some extra quiet time to wrap things up so for the next few days I'll be gone to a little hideaway, far away from that grand technology.

CHANCES ARE is now over 52,000 words and I still have a few scenes to write. When I return, I do plan to have a fully completed, albeit long, novella. What follows next? Revising, copy editing, and then yes, oh yes, oh yes, finally the release! Be sure to sign up for my newsletter because the minute this puppy is released, I'll send out a newsletter to let you know. It'll probably still be several weeks but it is coming!

I'm in the midst of reading Rita contest books so don't have any real recommendations for you. However, this morning, I thought of a question I'd like for you to answer. What are some of the most emotional books with a happy ending that you've ever read? You know the ones that you sobbed while reading but at the end, you were uplifted because of the HEA? And even days later, you can't stop thinking about the story or characters? Hmm, that may be a bit too specific but I'd love for you to give it a try.

Here are a few of the books that fit that criteria for me:

Cry No More by Linda Howard
Dark Waters by Sharon Sala
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

How about you? And don't forget to tell us what great books you read last week.

Wishing everyone wonderful reads this week!
