Finally Friday

Hey All--

Friday finally got here. Yay! Hope you had a good week and are planning a fun weekend filled with all of your favorite things, most especially good reads!

I'm expecting page proofs to arrive anytime, so it'll be a busy weekend for me, but being blessed with work is a wonderful thing! And since this is my LAST CHANCE to change or add anything to LAST CHANCE, I'm definitely looking forward to it. (I'm so going to miss playing with these titles) (:

If you get the CHANCE, stop in and tell us what you're reading this weekend. And don't forget to come by on Monday and give us your recommendations from the great books you read. We may have a special guest drop by to say hi. I know she's incredibly busy so I won't mention her name in case she can't make it, but if she does, I know you guys will be thrilled!

Okay, that's it for me until Monday, but feel free to talk amongst yourself. I'll drop in from time to time and chat. Have a warm, safe and restful weekend!

Character Contest

Hi all, thanks for all the guesses! Some of the characters mentioned I haven't thought of since I finished RETURN TO ME, so I had to go back and do a bit of rereading myself!

The most guessed character was Justin Kelley, who I admit, struck me as an interesting fellow. However, after the scene was over, he never talked to me again. Maybe he was mad because Gabe beat him up!

And then, Kyle Macklin, who's description was quite intriguing too. A tall, gorgeous blond with the smile of an angel and the glint of devil in his green eyes. Wow!

A couple of people guessed Brad Fleming...easy on the eye, successful, pleasant. What more could a woman want?

All wonderful guesses! However, the RETURN TO ME character that caught my attention and has been talking to me off and on for two years is none other than Dylan Savage. Yes, I know he only growled and grimaced in RETURN TO ME, but he is an insistent young man and there's a woman in his future that desperately needs him. So, what can I say? I caved to his Southern charm. (:

And the winner is Ida! Congrats! Ida, email me your address so I can mail you your signed copy of NO CHANCE as soon as my copies come in.

Okay, don't go away yet. One LAST CHANCE to win. I'm giving a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card to the first person who posts here and tells me the name of the organization who freed Gabe from his prison. Hint: it's in the NO CHANCE excerpt.

Ready, set, post!

LCR Characters

Good Wednesday All!

As promised, we're going to talk about characters. One of the wonderful things about writing a series is introducing a character in one book and then having that character star in his or her own book. I've done this in each book and plan to continue until the series ends.

I so enjoy giving secondary characters their own book because knowing them for one or more books gives me an opportunity to learn who they really are. And that's another reason why I so enjoy having Noah return in each story. I love to see how he has evolved.

But now, let's focus on a character first mentioned in RETURN TO ME who will get his own book in the 2011 trilogy. You'll learn a little more about him in SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE. He really captured my attention in SECOND CHANCE and turned out so differently than I thought he would. And now, after writing the synopsis for his book, I know why. A very interesting man!

But who is he?

So, here's what I want you to do. Email me at christy@christyreece.com and tell me who you think the character is. I'll collect the correct answers and then at 4:00 pm CST, I'll pop back on and announce the character and the winner. The prize will be a signed copy of NO CHANCE. Still don't have my author copies yet, but as soon as I do, I'll send one to the winner.

Also, I'll have a new contest starting at 4:00, so in case you never read RETURN TO ME, stop in for another CHANCE to win!

Also, if you have questions about the upcoming trilogy, NO CHANCE, SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE, post them here. I'll answer questions about characters you might see and just about anything as long as it doesn't give away major plot points.

Whew, that's a lot, so let's recap. Email me at christy@christyreece.com for who you think a character mentioned in RETURN TO ME will star in their own book in 2011. Don't post your answer here because it won't be counted. Come back at 4:00 for the correct answer and winner announcement and plan on entering another contest. Which, by the way, the prize will be a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble, so definitely worth the return trip! And, ask me anything you like about the 2010 trilogy and I'll answer what I can.

Okay, let's get those emails started and have some fun talking about the upcoming LCR trilogy.

Good Monday!

Hi All

Hope you had a restful, relaxing weekend filled with all of your favorite things. My weekend was a busy one. I attended an RWA chapter meeting. Southern Magic, my home chapter, is so much fun. It was a day of talking about writing, the business of writing, our goals for the year and catching up with everyone. What a treat to sit down with wonderful, enthusiastic people who have the same interests. It's almost, not quite, but almost as much fun as talking to you guys about books!

So, what did you read this past week that you can recommend to us? I actually got to do a bit of reading myself, but since it's for a contest, I can't talk about the books. Bummer! But I'm so enjoying them.

But what about you? What did you read that you want your fellow readers to read too?

Oh, and as a reminder, as you know, the last Tuesday of the month is always big release Tuesday and two of our favorite authors have books coming out. I know you probably already know about them, but just in case, don't forget that Allison Brennan has a new series, based upon the seven deadly sins. The first book, Original Sin, releases tomorrow. It looks awesome! And, Hold on Tight, Stephanie Tyler's last book in her trilogy, comes out tomorrow too. Lots of people looking forward to that one!

To authors, having readers buy their books is always incredibly special and so appreciated, but if at all possible, it's helpful to buy them the day or the week of the release if you can. Publishers look closely at those numbers and they can often get an author on a bestseller's list. Always a good thing!

Okay, plug for two of my favorites is over. Are there others you're looking forward to? If so, give us a heads-up!

Now, tell us what you read and maybe what you're reading this week too. And don't forget to come back on Wednesday. We'll have some giveaways and talk characters for the 2011 trilogy. Can't wait to find out who you think the RETURN TO ME character starring in their own book will be!

Fabulous Friday

Hi Everyone,

Hope you've had a good week. I had an exciting and productive one. I started writing the synopses for the next three Last Chance Rescue books, and I'm loving them already. Yesterday, I met a new character who is, without a doubt, one of the most intriguing and sexiest heroes I've ever met. I cannot wait to learn more about him!

Monday evening was very exciting. I learned that NO CHANCE received a starred review from Publishers Weekly! Wow! I am thrilled! Amazon has added the review to the NO CHANCE page, so if you get a CHANCE, be sure to check it out.

Tuesday, another exciting event occurred. I was on the Romantic Times website and discovered they'd already posted some reviews for next month, including NO CHANCE, which received 4 1/2 stars! You can read the review by going to romantictimes.com and putting my name or NO CHANCE in the search area.

Also, I had a discussion with my editor and agent about book titles for the 2011 trilogy and I think we've decided. Keeping it undercover right now until I'm totally sure. I should be able to announce them soon. I do have tentative release months of April, June, and August 2011. Something to cover your entire summer!

Next Wednesday, I'm going to run a contest involving one of the characters in the 2011 trilogy. This is the only character that was introduced in the first trilogy. All the others will be introduced in the upcoming CHANCE trilogy or are new characters. But this one person, a man, was first mentioned in RETURN TO ME. We'll have some fun guessing. And there will be prizes! So, if you get a CHANCE, give RETURN TO ME another read and see if you can figure out who it is.

And be sure to check in on Monday and tell us what great book or books you read this week.

Until later!

Monday's Musings

Good Monday All--

Hope everyone had a good, restful weekend. Did you read some good books last week? If so, what were they?

I'm in the midst of several things today. Our fridge went out last night around 11:00 and we had to empty it out. So thankful we kept our old fridge in the basement. When we got up this morning. the fridge temperature was 93! Thought about cooking breakfast in it!

But it's all fixed and our little fridge drama is over. Today, I'm working on synopses, ordering 'autograph by author' stickers and trying to come up with something snappy and original for new bookmarks for the new trilogy.

So that's my Monday. What's going on in your world? And what can you recommend as a good read for this week?

LAST CHANCE Excerpt Coming Tomorrow

Hi All--

Hope you're having a good week and life is being good to you. I finished the copy edits for LAST CHANCE and sent them off yesterday. Yay! The excerpt will be posted tomorrow. Yay! Yay! Can't wait to share this story with you. The excerpt I'm posting is Lucas and McKenna's first meeting. A bit of an unusual meeting too. Hope you enjoy it!

Also, I'm in the mood for a giveaway, so not only will I post the excerpt, I'll have a Barnes and Nobel gift card and a book or two as prizes.

So be sure to check back tomorrow. I don't know when the post will go up. I just sent the excerpt to my website designer yesterday and despite the short notice, she is graciously putting it up tomorrow. As soon as it goes up, I'll pop in and let you know.

Monday's Musings

Good Monday, everyone! How was last week for you? Did you stay warm? Did you read some great books? If so, please share!

As for me, I worked on copy edits all week and weekend. LAST CHANCE is really coming together. They're due back on Thursday, so I have a few more days to play with it. The copy editing phase is the SECOND CHANCE to make corrections before it goes to the galley phase. The galley phase is the LAST CHANCE to fix anything at all. After that, there is NO CHANCE. (Snort) Okay, I promise, we're almost through with playing with these titles. Got to get to work on coming up with more we can use.

After I send the copy edits off, I'll post again with news of release dates for the 2011 books, along with some information on blogs I'll be visiting in February. Also, I believe I have a Barnes and Noble gift card I want to give away. And yes, still planning on sharing an excerpt for LAST CHANCE. Stay tuned!

So what's going on in your world and what good books can you recommend for us this week?

A Quick Hi

Brrr. It's freezing in Alabama. What's it like in your world?

Just wanted to pop in and shout out a quick 'Hi!' I'm in the midst of copy edits for LAST CHANCE. They're due next week, so my focus will be on that for the next few days.

I hope you're all staying warm and reading some excellent books. I'll do my regular post on Monday so you can share your good reads and recommendations from this week's reading. Later on, probably Thursday or Friday, after copy edits are out the door and I'm breathing a bit easier, I'll come back and give you an update on some things. And maybe have a giveaway or two.

Have a fun-fabulous weekend! Stay warm, read well and be safe.

Happy New Year; Happy 2010; Happy Monday; Happy Happy!

Can you tell I'm just happy? Hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Mine was fantabulous and I'm so looking forward to an exciting, fun-filled, action-packed 2010!

So tell me, what great books did you read last week? I worked on story ideas for my new trilogy, so didn't get a CHANCE to read. Copy edits for LAST CHANCE are coming today, so that will be my reading for another week or so, then it'll be time to buckle down and start writing again. However, I'll just live vicariously (or should that be read) vicariously through you.

Did you notice how the blogger not only capitalizes and bolds CHANCE, but now puts it in italics too? What's up with that? (giggle)

So share. What great books can you recommend to us this week?
