Good Monday all!

How was your week last week? How about your weekend? I'm still in the midst of deep revision-land. The nice thing about being there is that chocolate is available 24/7--a staple when putting your characters through the wringer!

Didn't get any reading done last week because of the revisions, which is a major bummer for me. I had been enjoying reading at least one book a week but until these deadlines pass, I'll need to live vicariously through you all.

So tell us, what did you read last week that you're dying to recommend to others?

Sorry for the short and SWEET post, but my characters are screaming at me for keeping them in the dark. Gotta go let them out before they take over revision-land and eat up all the chocolate!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Recommend Monday!

Good Monday all! How did Monday get here so soon? I've heard of leap years, this was like a leap week. Okay, enough with the bad comedy. Now you know why I don't write funny books!

I returned from Orlando last Wednesday evening. Had an absolute blast at the RWA conference. The hotel was wonderful and started to feel like home. Amazing customer service! And the conference was wonderful too. Went to some great workshops and saw some of my absolute favorite authors, along with some new favorites. I also got the CHANCE to meet with my lovely editor and agent, went to some wonderful parties and even got to spend time with Kara, one of the original Reece's Peeces! She's as lovely, witty and warm as she is online. Needless to say, the 2010 RWA conference is one of my absolute favorite conferences ever!

And of course I had to take some extra days to spend with Mickey and friends. I went to Universal Studios, The Magic Kingdom and Epcot. My favorite thing was Soarin' at Epcot. What a wonderful experience! Also loved the fireworks and parade. Such fun places!

Now it's back to work for me. Have some major revisions to do on SWEET REVENGE! I had added a subplot that my editor and I decided to put in a later book, so I've cut 11,000 words from it. Yikes! However, Jamie and Dylan and their story is in tact. Their love story is both SWEET and emotional and I think you're going to fall in love with both of them! I know I did.

There have been some questions regarding the main characters for the SWEET trilogy, so I thought I'd give you a heads-up on what's coming. As you know, SWEET REVENGE features Dylan Savage and Jamie Kendrick who you met in LAST CHANCE.

SWEET JUSTICE will feature Honor Stone, the FBI agent from SECOND CHANCE. And the hero is Seth Cavanaugh, a man who broke her heart years ago. Yes, it's a reunion romance and man do they have the sizzle!

The characters in SWEET REWARD have been a bit of a dark secret. I wasn't sure how they would play out but unless something changes, my plan now is to write about Jared Livingston and Mia Ryker. You met Jared in LAST CHANCE and Mia was the first LCR operative that Noah fired. She's not been in any of the previous books but is a bit of an LCR legend. I've heard both of these characters in my head over the last few weeks and I'm already loving them. I know some of you may have questions regarding Jared, but there's not a lot I can tell you right now. Hopefully soon though. Thanks for your patience! (:

Those are the SWEET plans. However, remember that plans sometimes have a tendency to change, so if you're keeping a list, use a pencil for now!

Though my week was supremely busy, I did get a CHANCE to read a great book. A recommended read from Mary and several others. True Visions by Joyce Lamb was absolutely fantastic! Thank you, Mary, for the recommendation. I'm putting Joyce on my auto-buy list and am looking forward to the second book in this new trilogy. I had the opportunity to meet Joyce in Orlando and she is delightful!

Whew! That's enough from chatty me. How about you? How was your week last week and what great books did you read that you can't wait to recommend? BTW, once these revisions are done and I'm finished with SWEET JUSTICE too, I'm thinking we need to put together another list. Maybe your top twenty recommends for the year or something like that? Be thinking about it and we'll revisit it in a couple of months.

But now, tell us what you're recommending today.

Hope everyone has a SWEET week. Stay cool, have fun and read some good books!

Good Monday!

Wow, what an exciting week I've had. Seeing so many wonderful authors together in one place was so inspiring! Can't wait to tell you some of the highlights. However, I'm still at Disney, taking a few days with friends and having a blast! When I get home, we'll talk!

How was your week and weekend? Did you do anything fabulous? Read anything so wonderful you can't wait to share? If so, please do share!

I haven't had the CHANCE to read this week. And now that I met with my editor and received my revisions for SWEET REVENGE, might be a few more weeks before I'm able to jump into another book. After the revisions are done and Jamie and Dylan are settled once more into their happy ever after, I'll need to get back to Seth and Honor and their SWEET JUSTICE. I left them at a precarious moment and I can't wait to see what they've been up to!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week and that you take some time to find a shady spot to curl up with a great read!

Happy Monday all!

Good Monday!

How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Read anything wonderful? Did you stay cool? This heat is unbelievable, isn't it?

Last week was a busy one for me. I did more shopping than I planned to get ready for the RWA conference. In between shopping, I wrote several pages on SWEET JUSTICE (have I mentioned I'm loving Seth and Honor together?) and read a book. Yes, I do have a recommend! I read Sandra Brown's Envy. That was a recommended read from some of you here and it was wonderful. Lots of twists, turns and surprises. Love those kinds of books!

As many of you know, I'm headed to Orlando for the RWA conference. If you're attending, I hope to meet you and if you're at the Wednesday evening literacy signing, please stop by and say hi. I plan on having chocolate!

So what great books did you read last week that you're dying to recommend? Any new to you authors you're trying? Any soon to be released books you're looking forward to? Share the love with us!

I will have email this week, so feel free to drop me a line. May take me a day or two to get back to you, but I will reply as quickly as possible.

Hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay cool and read some great books!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? I know some of you went on vacation or you're still on vacation. If you get a CHANCE, tell us what fun things you're doing!

My week was filled with writing on SWEET JUSTICE, polishing up the synopsis for it and getting ready for the RWA conference. Synopsis was sent on Thursday, writing continues and I'm finding myself way behind on getting ready for conference. When one works in their PJs or sweats for much of the year, going out and shopping for clothes is always a bit of a shock. Why can't all clothes feel as good as pajamas? And shoes with heels? Oh my poor feet!

However, I'm powering on, looking for things that fit, are comfortable and won't make me have to take out a loan. What a challenge!

In between all of this, I did get to finish two books. Yay! I finished Marie Force's Fatal Affair and loved it! Great mystery and wonderful characters. This is the first book in a series, with the same main characters, Sam and Nick. Marie said that Fatal Justice will be out in January and I'm really looking forward to it.

Also, finished Karen Rose's newest one, Silent Scream. Oh my. Sooooo good! Absolutely loved David and Olivia. And can Rose create a nasty villain? Yikes! Karen has posted a epilogue on her website for Silent Scream. I read it last night and guess what, I cried. LOL Imagine that! It was so SWEET!

Forgot to mention that I'm now officially back on Twitter. I admit that Facebook is a more comfortable venue for me, but I need to branch out. Many people love Twitter and I am determined to give it more of a CHANCE this time. You can follow me at http://twitter.com/christyreece

This week, I'll be packing for conference and writing more on SWEET JUSTICE. Have to say, Seth Cavanaugh has got my heart locked up tight. What a man! I cannot wait for you to meet him. And Honor? She is so sharp and savvy. I am so impressed with her. I love this couple together. They have a wonderful chemistry and sparks are flying. Such fun!

I'll be headed to Orlando Tuesday, July 27 and if you're going to conference, I hope to meet you there. Or if you're in the Orlando area on Wednesday, July 28, there's a wonderful opportunity for you to meet hundreds of your favorite authors. The RWA Literacy signing will be at the Dolphin Hotel from 5:30 - 7:30. Here's the link for more information: http://www.rwanational.org/cs/literacy_autographing

If you come for the signing, be sure to stop by my table. Would love to meet you!

Okay, that's it for me. What about you? What wonderful books are you recommending? What's going on in your world?

Happy Monday!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? Did you read something fabulous you want to tell everyone about? Please share!

My weekend was good and busy. Did a bit of shopping, reading, housework and just plain old relaxing. Also, wrote a chapter on SWEET JUSTICE. I have to tell you, I'm totally head over heels in love with Seth Cavanaugh. He's one of the sexiest but most honorable men I've ever met. And he is well matched in Honor Stone. She's strong, a bit stubborn and very determined. The sparks are already flying with them. Can't wait until you can meet them both!

I also read a great book! I highly recommend The Chief by Monica McCarty. Loved the story and the characters! It's the beginning of a new series, so you can start from the beginning. I think the next one is out in August. Hope you love it as much as I did!

Oh, something else I did this weekend. I started a Fan page on Facebook. I honestly didn't want to do this because I didn't want to lose contact with people. For some reason, people feel more comfortable being your friend than your fan. However, Facebook only allows 5000 friends and I reached that limit a few weeks ago. So, if you're on Facebook, 'Like' me, if you will. I plan contests every other week or so. Right now, we're having a discussion on favorite LCR books and characters and what secondary character you'd most like to see get his/her own book. I'm collecting comments until noon today and then will give away a signed LCR book of choice to one commenter.

Whew! Guess that's it for me. I'll be in my writing cave (office) most of the week, working on SWEET JUSTICE. Drop me a line if you want to say hi or ask a question. Or comment here.

Now, tell us what wonderful books you're recommending this week!

Good Monday All!

Happy belated Independence Day to America! How was your weekend? Mine was fabulous! Yesterday, I spent the entire day with my family and had such a good time. And, oh man, did I eat! Lots of barbeque, veggies and decadent desserts. Feeling a bit hung over this morning--hence the late blog. But oh, it was wonderful.

Have to admit I was celebrating a bit more than usual. SWEET REVENGE went to my editor on Thursday, July 1. Yay!!!!!! Whew! This one was a close one for me. Thankfully, the Quiet Man and my spirited heroine decided they were ready to share their love story with the world. What a relief! Now, to wait, with fingers crossed, that my editor loves it too!

And SWEET JUSTICE is really taking shape in my mind. The synopsis is almost done and I have to say, I'm so in love with my new hero, Seth Cavanaugh, that I've been sighing an awful lot lately. He made me fall in love with him and cry on the very first page. My heroine, Honor Stone, is such a good match for him. Both are strong, courageous and stubborn. I can't wait to see the massive fireworks that are going to explode between them very soon!

So what great books are you recommending this week? I'm reading two books at once! Amazing feat for a non-multi-tasker. I'm reading Marie Force's Fatal Affair and really enjoying it! This is a reunion romance and will be an on-going series with the main couple being the same for each book. Really looking forward to seeing what Marie's cooking up next for them. Also, I'm reading Monica McCarty's The Chief and am loving it! Has anyone read it yet?

What about you? What have you read? What are you reading? What do you think others should read?

Oh, and in between reading and writing, I'm also counting down the days to the RWA National Convention in Orlando. I leave on July 27 and am so looking forward to it. If you're in that area on Wednesday, July 28, the literacy signing would be a wonderful place to visit. About 500 authors converge for one major signing to benefit literacy. If you're able to make it, be sure to stop by my table and say hi!

Okay, that's it for me. Going to take a long walk and visit with Honor and Seth, then do a bit of reading.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!
