Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

How was your weekend? What was the most fun thing you did? I know Lori Foster's reader event was this past weekend in Ohio and some of you went. Did you have a great time? I've heard from several people that it was fabulous!

My weekend was revision filled. SWEET REVENGE is due in three weeks and I had to do some adding, explaining, polishing and all the lovely things that go into revisions. This week, it will be even more intensive. Now I'll make sure my chapter breaks make sense, transitions from one scene to another are smooth and finish up certain scenes that were difficult to write. I'll have to give Dylan and Jamie credit. We started off roughly, but finished very nicely. Endings are sometimes a struggle for me. Occasionally I'll know exactly how the book will end, but other times I have no clue. With SWEET REVENGE, I had no idea how it would end until the very last laughing word. (Yes, there is laughter!) Dylan and Jamie really came through. I'm so proud of them!

BTW, if you've not had a CHANCE to read one or some of my books, I noticed that Amazon has the entire Last Chance Rescue series (all six books) on a 4 for 3 special. Way cool!

I am so anxious to finish SWEET REVENGE for several reasons, but one of them is because I have so many books I'm dying to read. Every week you guys recommend such fabulous sounding books. I've purchased many of them but haven't had a CHANCE to read anything new in quite a while. Since I can't recommend anything, I'll tell you the top ten books I'm going to dive into as soon as I get a CHANCE!

Naked Edge by Pamela Clare
Original Sin by Allison Brennan
Silent Scream by Karen Rose
The Chief by Monica McCarty
Coming Home by Mariah Stewart
Anywhere She Runs by Debra Webb
Dark Deception by Dee Davis
Never Too Hot by Bella Andre
Fade to Midnight by Shannon McKenna
Fatal Affair by Marie Force (Comes out on June 22 and is one of the first Carina Press E-Books...looks great!)

Yes, I do have my work cut out for me, but oh what fun! And I have about ten more I didn't mention. Sadly I won't get to all of them because I need to get started on SWEET JUSTICE very soon. Those characters are already calling my name!

So what about you? What did you read last week you want the world to read too? And what's on your summer reading list? Who knows, I may have to add a few more to mine.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning Christy and fellow fans!
I had a pretty uneventful weekend. We finally have my 8 year old step daughter up here with us so I've been busy getting her into the swing of things. (Our life is night and day different from her moms)
But like a true champ she is adjusting well.
I finally (in order Kara) finished up the Bodyguard and BOI series. Risk No Secrets was great! I am dying to read Doc's story. Anyone have any idea when it will be out?

I may not get much reading done this week since I have started potty training today. I tend to get absorbed by books so I need to have 100% focus on the little one.
But I do have Silent Scream that will be next on my reading list. Have a great week everyone! Christy hope your work goes smoothly!

Happy Monday Christy (and Crystal). :-)
I took my boys across the border (again) to visit friends in BC. SO MUCH FUN. Oh my. It was a last minute trip, but I love our friends up there.
There was a neighborhood carnival going on here at home, so when we got back the boys headed out there. I don't feel like I sat down at all this weekend.
As for reading: I bought Risk No Secrets, and am closing in on the end of my journey with the BOIs. LOVE THEM. Thanks all for rec. Gerard to me.
Then, I think it's time to hit the library again, as I don't have any new books waiting at the moment. hmmm....

Hi Peeces!
I missed you all but had a fabulous time at Lori Foster's event. They absolutely spoil you.

It was a surreal moment to meet 2 of my fave authors Beth Kery & Shiloh Walker. I said to them "pinch me, I must be dreaming" LOL.

Every author I met was charming, friendly, so down to earth. Everyone mixed & mingled. Some had their hubbies there & there was much joking around about being "inspirations" for their wife's writing LOL.

I brought 2 books with me to read Crush On You by Christie Ridgway - so good but didn't finish it yet.
Didn't start Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas. I was too wound up & excited to sleep or read but I tried.

Met my fellow peeps from Beth's chat group. It's fun there because people are looking for recs. I was happy to rec your books Christy. It was amazing how many people had them already & loved them or were planning to read them. Others now are going to buy them.

I post later & let you know what I bought & who signed what etc.

Happy Monday Christy, my summer reading is going to be filled with a bunch of randomness since I have completed most of the series I have started. I am going to finish Cindy Gerard's bodyguards.

I have recently found Mary Margret Daughtridge's SEALed series, and I am waiting on the last one to arrive before I start those, but I am excited about it. I haven't really found a new series to begin.

Enjoy your editing process, can't wait for the new book to come out.

haven't read them...but I will now! :-)

I also need to read a few Joyce Lamb books to try her out. And I'm sure there are many more...

Thanks Kara for the recommend on the Delta Force series. I'll have to track them down. I've never read any of Shannon Butcher's books. BUT you all recommended Pamela and Cindy and now I am an addict. lol

and, after much nuging from the hubby, I'm starting to look at e-readers. Any suggestions? As I started researching it looks like there is a library (or our local library) has ebooks now too that we can check out? REALLY?! That's very cool.

Hey Kara
Shannon Butcher's Delta force books are they paranormal? I went to her website liked what I read about the Delta Force books, but I'd like to make sure there are no vampires and such before I buy them. (Since I will buy all three to read in order back to back) lol

Crystal,
Although she does write quite a bit of paranormal, that particular series is not. Total romantic suspense. Along the lines of Cindy Gerard, Christy Reece, etc. You know, the good stuff. :)

I have read the Shannon K. Butcher Delta Forces Trilogy and the Mary Margaret Daughtridge "Sealed with..." books and can highly recommend them all. Shannon's are a little more intense (quite awesome actually) and I thought the third of MMD's books was the best of the three(IMHO).

For Ronlyn - I have the Kindle and think it's the greatest (although I still love an actual paperback). For long intl trips, the Kindle leaves so much more room for shoes!!

Didn't do much this weekend. No racing we are down to 10 horses from 25.
I read Silent Scream (Karen Rose) you all will LOVE it!! I am almost finished Brenda Novaks Stop Me, another good one. I have about 50 books on my TR shelves but I don't seem to get to them as I keep buying more. lol And I have a huge list to still buy due to all the recommends.
Ronlyn..I have been thinking about getting one of the e readers but my mom and I share books and Barnes & Nobles Nook lets you share books for 2 weeks but I would have to talk mom into getting one also. I have read a few on my Touch and it is a space saver and not bad can read it anywhere, but there is something about holding a book.

Hi Christy!

I've read Debra Webb's 'Tracelee', 'Nameless', 'Faceless' ----I am still trying to locate her book 'Find Me' in the book stores---talk about irony!!! lol
Last week I read her book; 'Every Where She Turns' and this week, I am reading 'Anywhere She Runs'. I also have the Linda Howard and Linda Jones book 'Blood Born'...Has anyone read it?

I reread "Dark Deceptions" over the weekend. Can't wait to read book 2, which is Drake's story. I just ordered Meryl Sawyer's "Play Dead" and hopefully I'll get it by Wednesday.

I loved Naked Edge - well I love anything written by Pamela Clare - both romantic suspense and historicals.

I have Monica McCathy's the Chief on my to-buy list but i have never read anything if hers yet. This book got great reviews though.

Julia Quinn's Ten Things I love About You and Lisa Kleypas' Married by Morning were on my summer list but i received them and devoured them. TTILAY was good. MBM was great. I am now reading Karen Rose's Silent Scream - another of my must-buy authors.

I am looking very forward to :

*Love in the Afternoon - Lisa Kleypas
*Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage - Jennifer Ashley
*I have the first two Cindy Gerard Black Ops books in my piles so i must really get to them.
*Indecent proposition by Emma Wildes
*I am planning to try Dee Davis and have a trilogy of hers: Endgame, Exposure and Enigma.
* Tempting the Marquess - Sara Lindsey
*Tessa Dare's new trilogy - apparently the first one is excellent
* A kiss At Midnight by eloisa James
* Hot Pursuit by Suzanne Brockmann - waiting for the papaerback release
*Hot finish by Erin MCarthy - I love her books
*Wicked Intentions - Elizabeth Hoyt

I have cut down on buying new books as they can be quite pricey and have been hunting for used books online lately. But sometimes even if I find the books the shipping can be over the top so collecting series has become more difficult.I leave the new books buying for my must-buys - I am ever thankful that I bought Christy's first four books on a whim after i read a review of No Chance - I have to rea din order!

The library in Malta is not stocked with the books i love so buying is my only option.

Sorry, I'm late!

Hey Crystal! Hope your week goes smoothly and the little one takes to the potty training quickly and easily. Silent Scream will be a SWEET REWARD for you. (:

Ronlyn, sounds like you had a fun weekend. And hopefully you'll pick up some recommends here so you'll have a list with you when you go to the library. There are lots of awesome books out there now! Enjoy!

Yay, Kara, for your summer break! Wow, you did have some great reads last week. I do have True Vision...bought it at Walmart last week. I'm looking forward to reading it. So many good ones to look forward to!

Yes, Dylan laughing surprised me too but it is a very SWEET ending. (:

Hi Sarah! I've never read Alex Kava. Is there a book one I should start with? And how cool that your library is doing an adult summer reading program. Hopefully it will encourage more adults to read. I met a woman recently who hadn't read a book in years. I gave her a copy of RESCUE ME. I hope that encourages her to read more. I so love books and can't imagine not having them in my life.

Kris, have a great time in Amsterdam! Wow, long trips like that is where the Kindle really comes in handy. Having a bunch of books available on one device. Enjoy!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Monday! I'm on and off line all day today, tweaking and fixing SWEET REVENGE. Will check back in a bit and visit some more!

Hey Mary! So glad you had a good time at Lori Foster's reader event. Sounds like such fun! I hope to get to go to one someday. How wonderful that you met two of your favorites! Thanks so much for recommending me there, but how cool that some people had already read my books. Thanks for telling me that!

Hey, Hope! If you love series, you've come to the right place to get more recommendations. And thanks for the good wishes on revisions. It's getting there...I hope!

Ronlyn, I have a Kindle but honestly don't use it a lot. However, I anticipate when I travel, I will enjoy taking it with me as opposed to a suitcase full of books. I have no experience with other E-readers, however, the biggest thing that bothers me about a Kindle is the button you have to push to get to the next page and that it makes a tiny little clicking sound. LOL. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal but it always takes me out of the story. For some reason turning the page of a book keeps me in the story much better. I'm sure if I used it more, that wouldn't annoy me as much. Let us know what you decide!

Hey Maria, I can't wait to read Silent Scream. David has been a favorite of mine from the beginning. I know what you mean about not getting to your TBR pile because of buying more books. It is so hard not to buy ones you've been so excited about reading. My stack keeps growing and growing but I just can't stop!

Linda, looks like you're on a Debra Webb binge. She's awesome, isn't she? And such a nice person too! Too funny on not being able to find Find Me though!

Hey Jane! Dark Deceptions is one of my must reads after deadline. It looks so good!

Hi Luci! Wow, there're lots of books you're looking forward to also. There are so many historicals out there I'm dying to read too. I've heard wonderful things about Tessa Dare's new book. Sounds wonderful!

And I'm so glad you followed your whim and purchased the first four books in LCR series too. You're a SWEETheart!
