Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fabulously fun? What about great reads? Anything to recommend?

As for me, I'm still in the midst of DD (Deadline Delirium), but I've had the CHANCE to read a little each day of Fatal Affair, Marie Force's new E-book that was released today by Carina Press. It's a reunion romance (which I love) and the first book in a new series (and you know I love series!). Needless to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

I'm eleven days from deadline! For the past week, I've been locked up in a hotel room with only my characters to keep me company. Fortunately I adore Dylan and Jamie, so it's been quite fun. I also love my dastardly, evil villain. What a way to spend a week!

If you've sent me emails or messages on Facebook and I've not responded, I'm so sorry, but I promise, I will get back with you soon! When I'm this close to deadline, I have tunnel vision to the max. Hopefully in eleven days, Jamie and Dylan will be happy with their happy ever after and I can return to the land of the sane. Of course, Honor Stone just popped up out of the blue in SWEET REVENGE, so I'm thinking she's going to want to get started on her HEA as soon as possible. So here I come, SWEET JUSTICE!

Wishing all of you a wonderful first day of summer and a fabulous week! And with this being the first day of summer, we need your recommendations for summer reading too. Do you have a list of your planned summer reads? If so, please share!

Have a SWEET day everyone!

How about a not-so-much recommend? I only read one book last week "Strong, Sleek, and Sinful" by Lorie O'Clare. I have definitely enjoyed previous books by her, but I had a teensy problem with the hero of the story. The story was still good, but the hero just completely rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm hopping on a plane to London tonight and I'm bringing the new Marie Force, the new Christy Ridgway and "Lois Lane Tells All" by Karen Hawkins. I really have no idea which one to read first!

I sent MIL back home yesterday, so I haven't done a whole lot of reading. A couple re-reads (Rachel Gibson, I had to go back and read Ty's story) and KR's Vito. *sigh* I love Vito.
Now, I've just picked up Stephanie Tyler's "Hard to Hold". I'm only about 20 pages in, so I'll let you know.

Hey everyone!
I didn't do anything to exciting this weekend. Tried to baby my honey for Father's Day. I wanted to make sure he knew how much I appreciate him and all he does for his family. I've been blessed with a good man! I wish I could have spent the day with my dad, but maybe next year.
I have finally decided to pick up a few historical books. Two from Karen Robards Tiger's Eye (loved it) and Irresistible.(it was good also) I read Bandit Lawman, Texas Bride by Carol Finch. It was pretty good too. I just started Stolen Kisses by Suzanne Enoch this morning. I am going to order Pamela Clare's Surrender next.
I also plan to order the Delta Force series. I'm pretty excited!

Ronlyn, hope your able to get some R&R since the MIL left! I'm sure you need some down time. :) Hopefully she had a good time visiting.

Christy good luck with the final touches on Dylan and Jamie's HEA! Don't work to hard.

Oh Ronlyn! You'll love Hard to Hold! I swear I have a thing for navy seals! Thanks to Suzanne Brockmann I'm sure. She is the person who introduced me to the seals first. Have fun you'll enjoy it!

Everyone seems to love S. Tyler. I don't know what rock I've been hiding under when it comes to her books, but I'm happy to be out from under it. LOL.
The only thing I have going this week is prepping the house for my baby's 3rd birthday party, so hopefully I'll have time to read and enjoy.

Hi all...Weekend was busy with a family picnic for Father's Day on Sunday, shopping on Saturday and on Friday I was trapped at a car dealership with storm blowing around me. This week is going to be great though, my honey got me Tim McGraw tickets for Thursday night. They are row 22 so I can't wait. As for my reading right now I am reading Debra Webb's new one Anywhere She Runs. I started it while I was waiting for my car to get done and so far it is good. Just with I could remember more from the last one she wrote. Oh well. Have a great week all!

Good luck with the deadline. I read Donna Kauffman's "Here Comes Trouble," which features an old heroine with a younger hero.

Hey all! I am continuing my read-a-thon, although I've had to slow down a bit to write lesson plans for summer classes.
This week I finished several books, a couple that I really loved - Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas, Welcome to Tempation by Jennifer Crusie, and Anywhere She Runs by Debra Webb. I just started Sugar Creek by Toni Blake today. I also have me eye on Sharon Sala's new series, Laura Griffin has a book coming out soon, and I MUST continue reading about the Hathaways with the Kleypas series.
Ronlyn, you're sure to like S. Tyler. I am a Jake girl myself but loved the whole series.
Christy, I am really anxious to read the new Marie Force book as well. Her other books were lots of fun. And all this time spent with D and J, I know, will be well worth it in the end. Glad you're having fun with it. Honor will be kind enough to give you a few days off, right?

I recommend "Shattered by Karen Robards, "Desire Me" by Robyn DeHart and "Bullet" by Laurell K. Hamilton.

I have added more books to my TBR pile!

I was in B&N looking for something to read when my eye was caught by the cover picture of Karin Harlow's 'Enemy Lover'. I opened it up and started reading...by page 29, I was walking to the register with it. LOL

The main female character is a Police Officer who is betrayed/set up by her unit. She is sentenced to prison and enroute there when L.O.S.T. steps in....
The book pulls you in from the beginning and introduces characters that you can't wait to know more about....for instance Mr. Black aka Godfather....ok, if you want to know more, you will have to pick it up!

Hmm, Stephanie Tyler and Navy Seals? seems like I must try her books.

I have had a fantastic reading month but have slowed down a bit this week.

I finished Sara Lindsey's Tempting the Marquess which is the second Weston book. I preferred the first one. This one was a bit slow for me.

I also read Toni Blake's One Reckless Summer - it was good but also a bit slow for me - meaning too much pondering and too little dialogue going on. I prefer books with more dialogue in them.

Am reading Karin SLaughter's Fractured. I had convinced myself i would not read her books after Skin Privilege because i had absolutely loved Jeffrey Tolliver. Her writing was so good though that I tried the first chapter of Fractured to see if she calls to me again and i was hooked by the very last line of the first chapter. Am loving it.

I received Hidden Fire and Line of Fire by Jo Davis so i will probably continue that series next.

Wow, Kris, you are most definitely a world traveler! Amsterdam last week, London this week. Let me know when you go to Paris. I'll hook you up with Noah and Samara for lunch. (:

Sounds like you've got some great reads to keep you company. Hope you enjoy them. Have a safe trip!

Hey Ronlyn! How are the possums doing?

I know you'll love Hard to Hold! On Vito's story...which one was that? Was that with Tess? My favorite of KR's heros (so far) is Abe from I'm Watching You. Just loved him!

Have a great week!

Hey Crystal! If you're in a historical reading mood, some of my older favorites are Judith McNaught's Almost Heaven and Julie Garwood's The Bride. Those two books are on my top ten favorite books. Also, Tessa Dare's new book, Twice Tempted by a Rogue, the second in her new trilogy, comes out today!

Oh, and what is the Delta Force series? Sounds interesting!

Have a great week!

G$%^#$%#$ possums. LOL. Although I'm relocating them and Jackie P has been kind enough to give at least one of them a home. ;-)
As long as the possums don't wake me up and stay where I don't see them I can pretend they aren't there and live in peace. Now...the slugs on the other hand. There is no good reason for the Earth to have slugs and I'm going to start erradicating them bit by bit. If the possums will eat the slugs I may even continue to leave out beer for them. *snort*

Vito is in Die for Me, his leading lady is Sophie, who's a 6 foot tall blonde archeologist. I sometimes think I'm a 6' tall blonde, I'm just trapped in this 5 foot tall (short) brunette body.
I've got to agree, Abe is pretty tasty too. I think Vito gets me because he sings. *dreamy sigh*

back to work for me! I'll reward myself with a little Jake later.

Hey Sarah! Sounds like you had a very busy weekend. Glad you're okay from the storm. They've been awful this year!

Debra Webb's new book looks so good. I just gave my copy to someone else to read but plan to get another soon. It's getting great reviews.

Hope you have a great week too. Stay safe from the storms and have a blast at your Tim McGraw concert!

Hey Jane, thanks so much. Need all the good wishes I can get to whip this baby into shape before July 1!

LOL. Just how old was that "old" heroine? I've not read too many books where the heroine is a lot older than the hero. Very interesting premise!

Have a great week, Jane!

Christy Reece said...

Wow, Kara, you are a reading fiend! I'm in awe! And looks like you've read some great books too. I need to get back to reading historicals again. I'm so very behind on Lisa Kleypas. Have you read Lady's Sophia's Lover? That's one of my favorites of hers.

Hopefully D&J will appreciate all the hard work I put into their story and will tell Honor to give me a break on hers. (:

Hey P&RS Reader! Thanks for the recommend. I haven't read Karen Robards in a while. Need to add her back to my reading list.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Linda! I've heard good things about Karin Harlow's Enemy Lover. People are loving it and recommending it everywhere. Guess I'd better add that one too. Thanks for the recommend!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Luci! Yes, do read Stephanie Tyler! And, you know, I don't think I've ever read Karin Slaughter. Do you have a favorite one I should read first?

Hope you have a great week!

Luci said...

Christy I read Karin Slaughter's books out of order and i still loved the first five. But since i am a stickler for order i rec you start from the beginning. The Grant County series are: Blindsighted,Kisscut, A Faint Cold Fear, Indelible (i loved this one), Faithless (this is the one i read first, Skin Privilege). Her Georgia series Tryptych and Fractured. The two series collide in her Genesis and Broken which is her latest. I would start from Blindsighted and work your way down.

Now the thing with her books lately is that they have different titles for the UK editions and the US editions and it is something i absolutely HATE in a time when everythign is so internationalised. I cannot keep the different names straight in my mind. The same is happening with Tess Gerritsen and Richard Montanari's books. So i checked for you with fantastic fiction. In the US Skin Privilege is Beyond Reach and Genesis is titled Undone.

Christy Reece said...

Luci, thanks so much! I'm making notes for my next book store run.

That is confusing on the titles. I guess certain titles sell better in some countries than others. I'm always amazed at the differences in covers. Like the German cover of RESCUE ME. So different!

Thanks again for the Karin Slaughter info and recommend!
