Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything incredibly fun you want to share? Did you read any books you're dying to recommend? If so, here's your CHANCE! Let us hear from you.

As for me, I made my deadline. SWEET JUSTICE is in NY and I'm dancing in B'ham! Yayayayayay!

So now that Honor and Seth are enjoying their HEA without me throwing obstacles, such as uber evil villains, in their path, it's time for me to return to SWEET REVENGE. Throwing obstacles in Dylan and Jamie's way is problematic because they have a tendency to throw them right back at me! However, I think they've realized that since I'm in charge of their HEA, it would be best if they cooperate. Time for D&J to step up and fight for that HEA I know they want. Come on, guys, give it up!

I have a fabulous book to recommend! And now I'm learning it's the 3rd in the series. Guess I have to go back and read the other two. Yay! Pamela Clare's Ride the Fire was one of those books that you just hate to put down. I loved Nicholas! What a gorgeous, wonderful and patient man. And talk about a tortured hero. Yikes! I adored the heroine Bethie too. So spunky but vulnerable. If you've not read it, I highly recommend that you do. So excited that there are two more in this series for me to read!

With Thanksgiving coming up, I find myself thinking about all the many blessings in my life. Listing every one of them would take pages, so let me just say that I am one of the most blessed people in the world. And you, my friends, are a big part of that blessing. From the emails, letters, cards, chocolate and comments here, Facebook and Twitter, to the purchase of my books and recommending my books to other readers, you have been so incredibly kind and wonderful. Whenever I become discouraged or frustrated about something, I think about you and I always feel better.

So, in this season of Thanksgiving, I want to say thank you, for the love, support and for being you! May God bless you with good health, much happiness and many, many good books to read.

(((((Hugs))))))
Christy

I just finished "Never to Hot" by Bella Andre and "Moon Craving" by Lucy Monroe. Just started "The Making of a Gentleman" by Shana Galen last night. "Never" was pretty good but I thought "Moon" could have had a lot more emotion in it than it did. I will look for you recommended read the next time I hit Half Price books!

That was a very SWEET blog Christy. I know I am incredibly blessed and thankful for all my friends new and old. This is the time of year to reflect for sure...

This past week, I kept on my Troubleshooters kick. I finished Max's story (Breaking Point). I can't tell you how much I love this series by Suzanne Brockmann. I went and got the next 2 in this series, and will hopefully, start them over the holiday break.

I also read the second book by Carly Phillips, the sequel to Kiss me if You Can. This one was Love me If You Dare. Really cute, who-done-it book, with some romance thrown in.

Have a great holiday week everyone.

Another great Christy blog! It's what I live for on Mondays (well, other than MTM over at Pamela Clare's!!!!). But that's just eye candy, it has no style or substance!!! haha.

Last week I read Living Nightmare by Shannon K. Butcher. I'm not a huge paranormal fan, but this series has me totally hooked!! Living Nightmare is by far the best in the series!

I also read a couple of smokin' hot books just to shake things up. I Spy a Naughty Game by Jo Davis and Bound, Branded, and Brazen by Jaci Burton. I enjoy the complete and utter contrast in the Spy series with Jo's Firefighters books (but do prefer the firefighters!). The 3B by Jaci Burton is shorter stories about three sisters on a ranch. Each story had a completely different level of hotness and I loved the cowboy aspect of it!

In addition to the obvious, I'm truly thankful for all the authors out there who toil morning, noon, and night, sometimes while having day jobs, to create those stories which really keep me going. There is nothing better than sitting down with a great book after the family has gone to sleep and the house is nice and quiet.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday week!

Hi All!

I also enjoyed Ride the Fire…the others in the series are goods reads as well.

I’ve still been reading the Virgin River series…I’m loving how you continue to hear how characters in past books are doing. I read some reviews before I got into these books that said there was too much medical detail in some scenes, it hasn’t seemed excessive to me.

I’ve reserved the first book in the Troubleshooters series to read over the holiday…I’m looking forward to reading it and Promises in the Dark when it comes out this week!

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone...

Christy your post was very sweet! You do know your going to get a talking to by KK right? You read #3 first...shaking my head lol! I have started Surrender by Pamela Clare this morning! I'm loving it. I only am allowing myself the luxury of reading while the kids are sleeping. If not my house will be a total mess without any baking done for when my family arrives Wednesday. I am so blessed my life is over flowing with blessings. I too could not list them all in a few short words. But... my family, my friends, my freedom and the many men and women fighting for my blessings are on the overall list of blessings. I also want to say I agree with Kris. You authors out there give up so much of your free time and work constantly to bring me a world that I completely loose myself in. Thank you!

Hope- I am so glad your enjoying the TS!! Yay! It is an awesome series! Soon Kris an I can discuss openly with you about it lol!

AlisonP- You will so love this series too! You'll have to keep us up to date on where you are in the series for sure.

Elke- When you come by be sure to let us know how your mom is doing. I've been thinking of her this week.
I only got a reread in last week. It was a TS book imagine that lol. The Defiant Hero. I love me some John Nillson! Have a great week all!

AlisonP...you will not be disappointed in the Toubleshooters...the first one is Tom, and he one of my top 3 men, I (heart) him....enjoy the series, I know I am.

Hi All
Christy what a nice post! It's not my Thanksgiving this week (Canada has it in October) but I feel the same - thankful for my buddies here.

I read Edge of Sight & OMG it was incredible. Read the prequel first -available on Roxanne's site.

Got to get her Bullet catchers now.

Read: Satisfaction - Marianne Stillings
Now reading: Sighs Matter by the same author.

Hey Shelley, if you like tortured but tender heros, spirited heroines and danger lurking everywhere, you'll love Ride the Fire!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Hope, thank you. I meant it, sincerely! Enjoy your TS marathon. I need to go back and reread my favorites. Such wonderful characters and great storylines.

Christy Reece said...

Thank you, Kris. And Pamela's MTM blog is indeed a treat!

Will have to check out the new Butcher series. Sounds interesting. You definitely shook things up with the I Spy series and I'd say smoking hot is a good word for them. (:

Christy Reece said...

Hey AlisonP! I'm really looking forward to reading the other two. Just have to find them. I downloaded RTF on my Kindle, but now I can't even find it on Amazon anymore. Not sure why. Haven't been to a used bookstore in years, but I think I may have to check one out soon.

I'm hoping to start the Virgin River series soon. Enjoy your first TS book. I'm sure you'll love the entire series!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal! LOL on reading out of order. It was an honest mistake. Really!

I loved Surrender. Good luck on being able to put it down. (:

And The Defiant Hero is one of my favorite TS books. Enjoy!

Hope the weather clears up for you!

Christy I may have read somewhere that Pamela got the rights back on her historical books and that they aren't up for sale anymore. Now with that said... I could have dreamed that up and there be absolutely no truth to that at all... So you may want to ask Ronlyn she may know more. :)

Christy Reece said...

Hey Mary G! I have Edge of Sight at the top of my TBRASAP list as soon as I finish SR. LOL How's that for acronyms?

Oh, I love Marianne Stillings. Have you read Damsel in This Dress yet? I think that was her first book.

Christy Reece said...

Oh, thanks for letting me know, Crystal. I can't tell when I downloaded RTF, but I don't think it's been more than a month or so ago.

Alison said...

Crystal, I heard the same thing about Pamela's historicals. I think I read it on her blog. I found my copies of her historicals at half price books, luckily.

Hi Christy, hi all,
its always great to chat with you on Recommend Monday. I am really glad I found this blog and got to know you all and learn about so many fabulous books.

I didn´t read much last week.I finished "happy ever after" by Nora Roberts and I read "fools rush in" by Kristan Higgins (it was recommended here I think), because I needed something to cher me up. It worked - I really had to laugh out loud several times.

Crystal , thank you for thinking of my mom. There are good news and not so good news . The really good news is that the cancer was only in her now removed kidney and didn´t spread out. The not so good news is that she got an infection after her surgery and her liver is starting to get toxic and the doctors don´t know jet why is that. But we hope and pray she will fully recover.

I wish everyone a peacefull and joyous thanksgiving.

Christy Reece said...

Elke, so glad there the cancer hadn't spread. Will continue to pray for your mom's full recovery. Thank you for letting us know. And I'm so glad you had good books to comfort you and bring you laughter. (((hugs))))

Christy, I agree about the Roxanne St. Claire book. I LOVED IT, then I found out there was a whole other series before called the Bullet Catchers. I am waiting on my Nook from Santa to get that series.

Elke, more prayers coming your way. A good, "feel good" little book to read, in my opinion, would be...Rachel Gibson's "Simply Irresistible" it is part of a series about a hockey team in Seattle. Really cute and lots of LOL moments.

Shelly, that whole series by Bella Andre is SUPER HOT. I am glad you liked it. Have you tried Jo Davis' series about Station 5?

Luci said...

Love love Ride the Fire!! It was the best of the trilogy IMO and the first two books in the McKinnon series are on the same calibre. Sweet Release and Carnal gift were very good too though and in Ride the Fire you get to see the heroes of these books which was great. I can never recommend Pamela Clare enough!

Must go and order Edge of Sight right away! I read the Bullet Catchers and enjoyed them. There was a trilogy in the middle of the series that was great - the 6th book in the series especially.

My reading couldn't be slower - I am edging towards another book slump :(.

Picked up Cindy Gerard's Show No Mercy form my pile as its been there for ages but i am feeling restless as if i need to read a book that grips me right in. Am thinking of starting Sarah Maclean's Nine Rules to Break...

Good Monday!

I read Living Nightmare by Shannon K. Butcher. So far of the series, it is my favorite. I read Delicious
by Shayla Black.

I have several books in my TBR pile, however, I have been enjoying the levity of Shelly Laurneston's books. I have read: The Wolf, the witch and her lack of wardrove, The Mane Squeeze, A Pride Christmas in Brooklyn, Here Kitty, Kitty and a few of her dragon series---really good stories and so heart warmingly funny!

Elke, I will keep your mother in my prayers.

Christy Reece said...

Hope, you'll love the Bullet Catchers! So addictive and fun. You're getting a Nook? What a nice thing for Santa to get you. Wow, you must've been a very good girl this year. (:

Shelly Estes said...

Hope - I love the Bullet Catchers series!! I am looking at the Jo Davis books and the other HOT books from Bella Andre. Borders.com had BOGO half price -- thinking of ordering them from there.

Luci - I love the Cindy Gerard books too!

My boss keeps trying to talk me into buying a kindle, but why bother when I have the kindle, nook, ereader and bluefire apps on my ipod? I can read almost any format on one device!

Christy,
So glad SJ is in the Big Apple. I can't wait to read the book, but it's so fun reading about your many adventures with D&J. They so remind me of some of my kiddoes at school. LOL Always keeping you on your toes.
Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful, relaxing, and full of family and friends. You deserve a fabulous holiday.
I am reading Kylie Brant's new book Deadly Intent right now. It has been very good so far.
BTW, if you can't find the books, let me know. You can always borrow mine. It's a sacrifice I'm more than willing to make to keep 'order' in the world. :)

I finally finished Bone Island trilogy. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Luci, I'm going to check my closet and see if I have the other two PC books. I almost think I have one of them. Fingers crossed!

I've heard great things about MacLean's Nine Rules. Hope you enjoy!

Christy Reece said...

Linda, I've heard good things about Shelly Laurenston's books. They sound like fun.

And good to see that you enjoyed Butcher's paranormal book too. Must look for them!

Christy Reece said...

Thank you, Kara! And I know your kids behave so much better than D&J. Though they did make me laugh today, so at least one of us is amused. (:

Thanks for the offer on the PC books. I'll let you know if I can't find them. Bringing order to a world of chaos is one of your many gifts.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Jane, the Bone Island trilogy sounds interesting. Who's the author?

Elke said...

thank you all for your good wishes for my mom - she is slowly getting better.

Hope, thanks for your recommendation - I already read "nothing but trouble" by Rachel Gibson and it was fun.It belongs to that series you mentioned I think. I will have to order the other books.

Luci,"show no mercy" is one of my all time favourites - the story of Gabe Jones and Jenna McMillan actually starts with the last book of Cindy Gerards bodygard series ( "into the dark" -Amy Walker and Dallas Garretts story). If you like reading in the "correct order" you might read this one first. I reread both books several times already. They are great.

I finished Last Chance this past weekend!! The end just blew me away. All I can say was that I just plain loved it!

Since I have to wait for the next book, I took a recommendation from last week and downloaded The Darkest Hour by Maya Banks. I am about 75% though it now and just cant seem to put it down. Next on the list is going to be Take Me by Bella Andrea since I have heard such good things about her as well. (I even already downloaded the sequel too .. love my kindle)

Thanks to everyone for the recommendations and have a wonderful thanksgiving week!!!

Christy Reece said...

Elke, so glad to hear your mom is getting better!

Christy Reece said...

Heather D, thanks so much. I'm thrilled you enjoyed LAST CHANCE!

Looks like you've got some great reading ahead of you this week. Enjoy!

Luci said...

Elke,

I am keeping your mum in my thoughts and prayers! Hope the infection is nothing really serious.

I had read Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard series in order - I am a stickler for order! My only problem is that I forget details and some time has passed since i read them so though i know i DID meet Jenna and Gabe I do not remember much about them. Am enjoying the book though.

Heather D - Glad you liked Maya Banks...it is a really great book. Have you tried Stephanie Tyler? She has a new series out, Shadow Force. The first book came out a few weeks ago "Lie With Me" the second comes out today "Promises in The Dark". VERY good books, if you liked Maya's you will LOVE Stephs too.
