Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

I'm writing this from the frozen tundra of Birmingham, Alabama. (: We were supposed to get 6 - 8 inches of snow. Instead, we have about a 1/2 inch of ice. Yikes, much prefer the snow!

Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was busy doing lots of things except writing. Hate it when that happens, but one can only put off doing laundry and running errands for so long. But now it's Monday and I'm ready to write. However, just got revisions for SWEET JUSTICE, so that'll occupy my time for a couple of weeks. Since I adore Seth and Honor, I'm okay with that. Then it'll be back to SWEET REVENGE, where I left Jamie staring in awe at something Dylan has just done. Can't wait to see how Dylan reacts!

Later on this week, I hope to have some news to share. Be sure to check back frequently. As soon as I can, I'll give you the skinny on some very SWEET things!

No new recommends from me today. What about you? What fabulous books are you dying to tell us about?

I'm offline most of the week working on revisions, but feel free to email me if you have a question or message me on Facebook or Twitter. And again, be sure to check back frequently this week to get the latest news!

Hope everyone has a great week. Be safe! And be sure to keep the victims of that horrible event in Arizona close to your heart and your prayers.

Hey Christy! Sorry the weather is so crappy. I'd rather have 16 inches of snow than 1 inch of ice. Missouri tends to get more ice than snow and I remember several winters where we had weeks without power because of the ice.
I am so excited to hear your SWEET news! I'll come visit your website constantly. Have fun visiting Seth and Honor! I wish I had the same job for a couple weeks. lol
I am still working on the Virgin River series. I can't remember what I ended with last week I think it was #7 or so, but I am now reading the 10th one. I'm enjoying this series a lot. Even if there are moments where I'm thinking NO WAY!!! lol
I also read Forbidden Pleasure last week..... All I can say is WOW. That was my first with that sort of book and it was definitely a WOW experience. Very spicy!!
Everyone be careful if your in the middle of all this winter weather! Drive safe and bundle up! Have a great week everyone!

Looking forward to some more good news from you Christy!! I've been working on Elisabeth Naughton's Stolen trilogy. Had some trouble getting through the first book, but that was mostly me. But, I just finished the second book and I really liked it! That one, I read in my standard 2 days (although I was tempted to stay up to the wee hours to finish it the first night!). Looking forward to the third one. Have a great week everyone!

You have that right Crystal...Ice is so much worse than snow! I remember one winter my dad went out to his truck to go to work and ending up sliding down the hill to the backyard it was so icy out! He wasn't hurt, but he didn't enjoy crawling back up to his truck to go to work.

Christy, can't wait to hear your news...I'll be stopping by to see what's going on :)

Last week I read Fatal Justice and loved it. I love Sam and Nick! I have the next VR book in my TBR pile, but I've been getting distracted. I better get on it the next in the series will be out next week!

Everyone said such good things about Lori Fosters Too Much Temptation last week that I downloaded it and read it this weekend and its sequal this weekend...Loved them both!

Stay Warm everyone

Hi Christy,Hi everyone,
Iam back to normal with my son and my husband back to study and work- so I have more time for reading and blogging.
I am thrilled there will be "SWEET" news this week ,Christy. I`ll check your website every day.

As I mentioned last week, I read the new book by Karen Rose " You Belong to me" and was astonished to learn that it is not jet out in the U.S. For those who are interested to get it early - it is already published in the UK by "Headline Publishing Group" and available "via amazon uk".
As all of Karen Rose´books it was great and I hope there will be more of the guys and girls from the Baltimore PD.

Last weekend I read "love me to death" by Allison Brennan (Lucy Kincaids story) and as Lucy is one of my favourite characters from the KIncaid family it was intersting to see how she dwelled with the horrible events she had to endure in the past. She is an amazing character and I was glad she found Sean. I already ordered the next book " kill me, kiss me" and hope there will be more from Lucy and Sean.
Have a great week everyone.

I hate icy weather too!! They are calling for snow here tonight & tomorrow - yuk! I am ready for spring. I read lots of the free downloads I had on my kindle - nothing spectacular. The one 'real' book I read last week that I really liked was J K Beck's "When Blood Calls". I am working on "Dream Chaser" by Sherrilyn Kenyon right now. It's a great read!!

Can't wait to hear your SWEET news Christy -- I hope it involves more upcoming books after the 3 SWEETs!!

Everyone stay safe & warm!!

Ice?? Yuck! Everyone is in a panic here about the potential for snow...but at the moment the sun is shinging. It's cold, but pretty. I was looking at my front bushes the other day...I'm not sure they are going to survive this winter.
This week I read a Carla Neggers & a Debra Webb (of course I can't remember the titles right off) and both were enjoyable. I finished Talk of the Town by Karen Hawkins last night, which was a cute, fun read.
AND, I got some new ideas, so I'm hoping this year continues to be as productive as this past week has been. :-)
Happy Revisions! I can't wait to see what Jamie is in awe about. D-man is an awe-inspiring type of guy.

Ronlyn said...

Elke! I'm so jealous you've read the new Karen Rose. I'm trying to figure out who I can bribe to send me a copy...if I know anyone heading to the UK soon.

Oh yeah, I was given a new copy of Last To Die by Kate Brady but I had to get One Scream Away first which I finally did.

Happy CHILLY Monday everyone...I had to go and buy some new slippers cause I was so cold (and it was a great excuse to shop lol).

I read some good ones last week, I finished #4 of the VR series (Crystal is ahead of me).

I started Kat Martin's new series with Against the Wind. Anne brought this series to my attention and I LOVED it. I can't wait till Gabe's story is out (hubba hubba)

I ALSO read Fatal Justice...I heart Nick :) Such a great series, can't wait for the next one, and of course the wedding.

I am currently back to the Troubleshooters. I am on to Mark and Lindsay. I can't wait until Deck and Sophia get their book, at least I hope they get a book.

Everyone stay warm and cuddled up to those heros this week, it isn't supposed to warm up here for a while :)

Ronlyn - maybe we can make a deal:
i send you a copy of "you belong to me" in exchange for a copy of the first book of Marie Forces Fatal series. Her books are so often recommended here but the Fatal series is not available in Germany. If you are interested - give me your e-mail address so I can contact you directly.

Hope said...

Elke, sorry to say but the Fatal series are all e-books. Do you have an ereader? If not, this would be a good reason to invest in one. I love mine.

Ronlyn said...

Fatal Affair will be coming out in print before too long.
Elke, my email addy is ronlynhowe@yahoo.com.
Let's make a deal! :-)

Hope said...

CRUD, I am the last to know these things...Elke, Ronlyn will hook you up, she has sent me the goods before too :)

Mary G said...

Ironically I read that Karen's book is due in the US for June 7 & I think that's when Marie's book is out in print as well.

Ronlyn said...

Elke, I sent you an email back. Let me know if there's anything else you need but can't get your hands on as well. ;-)

Elke said...

Hope, Deck will get his book : "Dark of Night"- you will be surprised by his story -i didn´t expect that turn of events and it took me a while to get used to it but meanwhile its one of my favs. i would like to know what you think about it

Ronlyn said...

Hope, tell me about Against the Wind. More Suspense? More Cowboy?? Details woman.

Crystal (cmac) said...

Elke I am patiently waiting for Hope to get to Decks story. I'm very anxious to see how she responds. :)

Mary G said...

Hey Ronlyn
I loved Against The Wind. A cowboy story with a familiar theme but so good, I starting buying her backlist. She's on the run, goes back home & gets a job on a ranch run by someone who liked her in high school. Bad & good sparks fly (he was still pissed at her at first) but she needs a safe place for her & her little girl. He is so totally hot and like the good guy he is, doesn't stay mad long. I'm trying to think of a similar author for comparison.

Ronlyn said...

I've read Kat before...I'm hesistant about cowboys. LOL.

Crystal (cmac) said...

Ronlyn cowboy shy? :)

Anonymous said...

I hesitate to read cowboy stories sometimes bacause of an incident in a local country bar here in town -- whenever I think of cowboys that incident comes to mind, and I end up snorting and laughing -- can't take the story seriously then....

Mary G said...

Oh LOL
The western part does not take over the story. The bad guy & the good guy are in the forefront.

Shelly Estes said...

That anonymous comment was actually from me - I have fat fingers today!!

Ronlyn said...

Having grown up with cowboys...I'd hesitate to call myself cowboy shy. LOL.
I think I need to hear more about a cowboy bar incident! :-)

Hope said...

Ronlyn, Listen to Mary. It was a really great book. The cowboy thing was secondary, but I could picture this hero in Wranglers, so it was all good for me. I loved it so much I bought several back books from her, I hadn't read her before. I would highly suggest it.

I am getting close to the end of this book, Mark and Lindsay. I am a little nervous about Decks book now, cause I don't think he get Sohia which will totally bum me out.

Completely understand your complaints about ice - as Crystal commented, we do get more ice than snow! Having lived in Iowa previously, I honestly can't decide which is worse... at least I don't have to shovel ice!

As for the SWEET news... ah, can't wait! Just to be random, I must thank you for adding your new books to your account on Goodreads - when you marked them as "To Be Read," I immediately raced over to Amazon to check out the details!

My current reading list:

*Sharpshooter in Petticoats - Mary Connealy
*Mercy Blade - Faith Hunter
*Promise Canyon - Robyn Carr
*Skin Heat - Ava Gray
*Spellweaver - Lynn Kurland

All of 'em are new releases from my favorite authors! So excited! =)

Crystal (cmac) said...

lol Ronlyn that was what I was thinking. You can't be cowboy shy growing up in Montana. I thought it was comical. :)
I think we should have story time and Shelly take the spotlight.

Ronlyn said...

Right you are Crystal. Impossible to be cowboy shy. I should take a photo of me wearing my rodeo princess hat, just to show you all.

Shelly, is your cowboy bar story similar to the scene in Linda Howard's OPEN SEASON? I giggle every time I think of that scene. When I was a bar maid I wound up in the middle of a few of those scuffles.

Mary G said...

Hi Hope
Jackson was a hottie. Two more weeks for Gabe's book.

Ronlyn you got 2 weeks if you want to read them in order (or at all).

Mary G said...

Bar maid? Okay we really need story
time here. You girls have led exciting lives.

Ronlyn said...

why 2 weeks Mary?

Mary G said...

The second in the series Against The Fire is out in 2 weeks. Jackson's brother Gabe is the hero in this one.

Christy Reece said...

Wow, you guys have been busy today!

Crystal, LOL on Forbidden Pleasure. Oh my yes, very spicy! Whew! Glad you're looking forward to the SWEET news! I think you'll like it. (:

Kris, I have the Stolen trilogy but haven't had the chance to read it yet. Have heard so many good things about it. I'm sure you'll enjoy the third book. I had the pleasure of meeting Elisabeth at the conference in Orlando last year. What an incredibly nice person she is. She's got a paranormal series out now that looks really good too.

And stay tuned for some SWEET news soon! It'll be here some time this week!

Kara C said...

Hey Christy!
We have enjoyed a snow day today, and without that much talked about snow dance of mine. LOL We'll have another one tomorrow, so it's a good thing we're having fun.
I am reading the second of Nora Roberts' bride series and the second of Maya Banks' series. So far, I'm liking them both a lot.
I have the new Kat Martin book waiting on me at the library if it ever opens back up. I also have the newest Carla Neggers book as well as the new Joyce Lamb book. Can't wait to tackle those! Hey, Mary G, would it be a good idea to reread Joyce's first book in the series? Hope, I loved Mark and Lyndsey's story, but then I really like that series!

Christy Reece said...

Thanks, Alison! Will try to share the news by Wednesday or Thursday! So glad you enjoyed Fatal Justice. I'm holding out reading it until I get some free time. Figure once I get started, I won't stop!

Oh, I think I downloaded Too Much Temptation a couple of weeks ago. Good to see it's going to be a great read.

Mary G said...

Good question Kara.
I though I would need a refresher with True Vision but True Colors is about Alex, Charlie's (first heroine) sister & her abilities are a bit different so you kind of get a recap of Charlie when they do a comparison. In typical Joyce fashion I was hookd from the first page. I don't dare read it at bedtime because I won't put it down.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Elke! Glad things are back to normal for you. Hope you're feeling all better too. Will try to post my first SWEET bit of news tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Oh, I'm so excited about Rose's new book but selfishly I'm kind of glad it won't be out until summer. I'm blessed with so many deadlines right now and greatly fear I'd have to sneak a few days off to read it. Now I just have something amazing to look forward to when I'm finished!

And another book I'm dying to read is Brennan's Love Me to Death. I had to buy it because, as everyone knows, buying the first week of release is so important to make lists (and it hit #20 on NYT). However, I'm so anxious to pick it up and start on it...but I can't, can't, can't! (:

Shelly Estes said...

Haven't read Open Season by Linda Howard -- anyhoo - for some backdrop on this story - mid-north Indiana isn't exactly cowboy territory, but there are a bunch of wanna-be's.... a couple of our friends went to this country bar (Neon Cactus) after a wedding, dressed their tuxes.... a drunken wanna-be came up and made some comment about monkey suits, snooty waiters.. you know :o) Our friend looks him over and says "there hasn't been a wild indian in indiana in over 100 years, what's your excuse?... (left out the expletives) probably not funny if you don't know our friend, but it cracks me up everytime I think of it, and the cowboy wanna-be's here are pretty lame :o)

Now, we need to hear the bar-maid story!! please??!!

Christy Reece said...

Shelly, the nice thing about snow where you are is they have the equipment to clear the roads quickly. Since our snow and ice is so sporadic here, it kind of closes us down. I remember how very pretty those Indiana snowfalls were...and how cold that wind is too! Brrrr....

Oh yeah, that new J.K. Beck series looks fabulous. Glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Stay tuned. Some SWEET news arriving tomorrow!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Ronlyn, did you guys get any snow? In my area, we only got ice, but in other areas of Bama, farther north, they got lots. I think one area got like 8 inches or something. Though I would have loved a pretty snow, have to admit I'm glad we don't have all that extra fluff to deal with. The ice is just about gone and I really really really hope that Spring is on the way. LOL Yeah, I know it's only January. But a girl can dream!

Looks like you got some great reads in this past week. Yay for the recommends!

And I can't wait to get back to D&J. They constantly surprise me!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Mary G! I have errands to run on Thursday so will stop for a copy of True Colors. Just saw that it got a great review over at All About Romance. Yay for Joyce! Looks like another great read!

Congrats on winning the Kleypas book. Enjoy!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Hope! I'm anxious to read the new Kat Martin. I've read almost all of her historicals and have loved them. Glad to see so many people are loving her new series. And I'm studiously ignoring my Kindle with Fatal Justice. Have to write billions of words but that will be one of my REWARDs when I finish!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Patterson 1219! So glad you're looking forward to the SWEET books! Wish Amazon had more details about them but that'll be coming soon. I'll post some information on GoodReads too. Thanks for friending me over there!

Looks like you've got a great reading list lined up. Enjoy! And thanks for stopping by to comment here. Hope you'll come by often!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara! Enjoy your snow days, dance or no dance. (: Looks like you've got some great reads ahead of you!

Mary G said...

Hi Christy
Yes True Colors is so good. Finally tore myself away at 2:00AM. Should have taken my own advice to not read it at bedtime LOL. Question: 2 sweet people like you & Joyce - did you both go to the same psychopath writing class?
Geez - freak me out!!

oklanannie said...

Hi All! Christy, I don't like ice! The snow I'll take but ice isn't pretty or nice! Stay safe and warm. Sounds like you southerners are all getting more than your fair share of the winter weather. We got about an inch of white fluffy stuff and it's 12 degrees now. Brrrrrr! Gotta make some hot chocolate!

I'm in the Yeah! for Kat Martin's first book in her new trilogy, "Against the Wind" corner!! Those Raines brothers are pretty hot and not total cowboys. A good storyline for the debut, too.

Also, read Celeste Bradley's "To Wed a Scandalous Spy" and gotta say that Willa is such a delight! I like her character so much and find the Royal Four storyline really appealing. I'm anxious to read the other three books in this series.

Also, read Anne Mallory's "Seven Secrets of Seduction" suggested by Marie Force (I think!). It was quite entertaining as well.

Now I'm ready for a good contemporary. What shall it be?

Stay warm and safe!

Ronlyn said...

No snow yet Christy. They're forcasting it to start snowing (anywhere from a trace to 3 inches) around 4pm today. Just in time for everyone to try to get home. I'm crossing my fingers and toes I don't get stuck downtown again.
I moved away from MT because I don't enjoy snow. LOL
I'm enjoying getting back into reading. And I just got an email from a friend that she's bringing over more books for me later this week. YAY!!!

Anne, I'm so glad you liked the Celeste Bradley. I really enjoyed both the Liars Club series as well as the Royal Four. Great fun.

Ronlyn said...

OK, a barmaid story....really there are dozens.
In college I worked at the cowboy bar as a barmaid. Tips were good. The guys who worked there were very protective, so that helped. This place got BUSY, bodies to the wall, standing room only, busy. It would always be fine until some drunk would try to grab one of the girls...then the guys (and all the guys AT the bar) would start fighting. We're talking tables breaking, chair tossing bar fights.
One story that comes to mind though is when I was working a fairly slow night and a guy tried to grab me. I'm only 5' tall, so I..er..aim lower than some other people. I spund around leading with my elbow and got him in the balls. Only to whip back around and clock him in the head with my other elbow (this is after I'd dropped my tray) and when he went down he hit his face on the table and broke his own nose. Crazy.
Most of the guys were awesome though, so no worries.

Shelly Estes said...

Ronlyn, you story is much much better than mine!! I laughed out loud! Have you ever been to the Million Dollar Cowboy bar in Jackson Hole? It's an awesome place!! I have worked in bars too, and you never know what you'll see next!! I was the bouncer in a gay bar owned by a friend of mine for a while -- my husband gets a big kick out of that story!! (I'm 5'5" and weighed about 100 lbs at the time)

Mary G said...

Great Stories girls. Ronlyn did you write some books as Carolyn Brown? LOL. Sounds like the beginning of one of her books.

Hi everyone! Christy, your weather is heading my may and I'm nervous! I much prefer snow over ice. LOL Anyway, I read the first four I-Team book by Pamela Clare and I must say I was hooked! My poor house was a disaster last week. Thanks to all who recommended them:) Also, I am working on the Tall, Dark and Dangerous series by Suzanne Brockman..I like these a lot too.

Have a great week!

Ronlyn said...

Oh that's too funny! Maybe she was in the bar when I had my run-in. LOL.

Mary G said...

Yes & funny too - I haven't read this yet but when I do, it'll be your face I imagine no matter what her description is. LOL Awkward!!
