Recommend Monday!

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

Did you have a fabulous week and weekend? Read anything fantastic you can't wait to share with others? If so, please let us know!

Did you happen to see the SWEET surprise I posted on Friday? I'm thrilled with the cover for SWEET JUSTICE and hope you are too. I love the colors, the background and oh yeah, the seriously hot guy! I haven't had any sneak peeks at the covers for SWEET REVENGE or SWEET REWARD yet, but if this is the beginning of a trend, I say bring it on! I'll be sure to share with you as soon as I can.

I'm still in the midst of angst and danger with Dylan and Jamie and SWEET REVENGE. Saturday, Dylan did something that he and I both were quite upset about. On Sunday, he totally reversed his decision and showed himself for the hero he is. I cannot wait for you to meet these two characters in their own story. They have alternately frustrated and entertained me for months!

In between writing and reading my Rita books, I managed to read a book that's been on my Kindle for months. Finally finished it last night and must say I thoroughly enjoyed Dangerous Secrets by Lisa Marie Rice. Have you read it? The hero is uber alpha and a little over the top, but in a fun way. If you've not read it, I encourage you to give it a try!

Any big plans for you and your Valentine honey today? I woke up to roses and chocolates, so the day definitely started off on a good note. (Hmm, if I could wake up that way every Monday, I'm sure it would make my week much brighter and put me in a better mood. Might have to mention that to my SWEETheart!) (:

Okay, I'm headed back to the land of Dylan, Jamie and the slick but uber mean villain. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and a most excellent week!

Now tell us what we should be reading!

Hey Christy, Your SWEET cover on Friday made my day. I am so excited for you! I hope this is a trend for the SWEET books! Can we order life size covers? lol

Ronlyn has me hooked on The Liar's Club books. I am on the 5th book.
The Pretender
The Impostor
The Spy
The Charmer
The Rogue is number 5 but they are all excellent reads!
I am going to start rereads this week. I feel Julian calling my name.
Hope everyone has a GREAT VALENTINE'S DAY!! My sweetheart surprised me with flowers on Friday. He is good to me everyday so I am blessed. Have a great week!

Happy Valentines Everyone...I hope you have some SWEET treats coming your way. I am lucky, my hubby is always good to me.

I don't really have much good to report this week for good reads. I am reading Lori Foster's Buckhorn boys and I am liking the series.

I just downloaded Dangerous Secrets by Lisa Marie Rice, per Christy's recommendation.

Have a great week everyone.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!

I've been in kind of a slump recently...lots of books in the TBR, but not in the mood for them. So I've been re-reading the I-team series.

I did read Deadly Heat last night and really enjoyed it. It was my first book by Cynthia Eden...should have done a little research though. I didn't know it was the 2nd book in the series, now I need to hunt down the 1st book and read it.

I agree Bianca...Nina Bruhns Storm series is a good one!

I've been totally in an audiobooks mode lately, "rereading" Jayne Ann Krentz's Arcane series. I'm deep into quilting again so I love to listen to someone read aloud to me while I sew. Christy, they have three of your books on audio at Audible, but my library doesn't have them yet! I will ask for them. When I crawl out from under my pile of bills, I'll get them from Audible!

Alison, I did the same thing with the Cynthia Eden book. I bought that one first. I haven't gotten the first one yet, but I am anxious to read that series, glad to hear you enjoyed it.

Hi all- Happy Valentines Day!
Christy - i just saw the cover this morning on your website. Its awesome- the guy looks a bit mysterious and i think the color underlines that.

Last week I read "First Lady" and "Match me if you can" by SEP and Marie Forces " Everybody loves a hero" - great reads all of them.
I have SEP´s "Call me irresistible" waiting - but I just decided that I need a bit more thrill and action after so many romances so I have to do some rereads . I have´nt decided which one - maybe one of the BOI´s or LCR-books.
Any suggestions ?

Have a great week everyone!

Crystal said...

Elke I say LCR all the way! Or you can read PC's I-team for some thrill and action too

Hi Christy,

Super SWEET book cover. I have been reading on my Nook and enjoying it a ton. The book I am reading now is Afterlife of the Rich and Famous by Sylvia Browne. It is a great book and it gives you hope that life after death is perfect. I finished Secrets to the Grave by Tami Hoag and loved it. I have the new Allison Brennan book, Blood Stains by Sharon Sala on my must read list and Merciless by Mary Burton. I loved her Senceless book so I am ready to read the book that goes with that one.

Happy Valentines day everyone. I hope it is a SWEET day for everyone.

Elke said...

Crystal, thanks - i picked "no chance" and "take no prisoners" for rereads this week. The I-team books were my reread a couple of weeks ago and I am looking forward to Nathalies story, coming out this spring I think.

Hey Christy!
This week, with THREE snow days in a row, I was able to read more than usual. I finished Everyone Loves a Hero by Marie Force, Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare (a reread for me), Crime Scene at Cardwell Ranch, Sarah Mayberry's Home for the Holidays, and a couple of nonromance books. Right now I am working on Robyn Carr's Harvest Moon and The Pretender by Celeste Bradley.
(Really...I think your new cover is SPECTACULAR.)

Happy Valentine's Day,
I'm on South Padre Island where it is sunny and warm. My peeps are back in VA, and I'm oddly jealous they're going to IHOP for dinner!!! Last week I read Everyone Loves a Hero by Marie Force. Great read!!!

Christy, love the cover as you know. I have been reading Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders and they are good. Mix of time travel, history and paranormal.

@Elke, Have you read Nina Bruhn's trilogy? It is Great. Right in there with PC and Christy and Stephanie Tyler.

I'm late!!

I was sick in bed last week but too sick to read even.

On Friday my copy of Everyone Loves A Hero by Marie Force arrived. Read it through with no bookmark needed. I didn't think Marie would outdo Love At First Flight but ELAH was something else.
It's everything a contemp should be - sexy, funny, emotional and an added feature - it was so romantic. I was alternately sighing, tearing up or just plain melting.

I also read:
Love Me - Bella Andre
The Brown series by Lauren Dane
Laid Bare
Coming Undone
and now reading Inside Out.

Jackie! I'm so glad you're liking KMM!

Wow, Crystal, you're definitely hooked on The Liar's Club. Will add that to my ever growing list of series must reads!

LOL Say hey to Julian for me.

Glad you like the SWEET JUSTICE cover and wow, wouldn't it be cool to have a life sized one?

Have a great week!

Thanks, Ronlyn! Hope your Valentine's Day was excellent!

Belated Valentine's Day wishes to everyone! Hope you enjoyed lots of SWEET treats!

I've done something to my back and been either laying or sitting for several days -- which just demanded that I read, read & read more! Thanks to Christy's treasure box gift package, I read and really enjoyed a historical entitled TEMPTING by a new-to-me author, Hope Tarr. Want to find more by this author.

I also discovered a new author from my home state of Oklahoma. Laurel McKee writes historicals and has a passionate and breathtaking new Irish series entitled "Daughters of Erin."
The first two books, COUNTESS OF SCANDAL and DUCHESS OF SIN are excellent. I can't wait for the third one to be released later this year. Highly recommend if you're a historical lover or not. (LaurelMcKee.net)

Also, keeping it in-state, I also read Oklahoma's Pioneer Woman, Dee Drummond's BLACK HEELS AND TRACTOR WHEELS. This is her own love story and is delightful. You can read it on her website but the new book adds more, along with some much needed editing. Very fun read!

Have a great week!

Hi Bianca, Nina Bruhns is awesome, isn't she?

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Hope, so glad to hear you downloaded Dangerous Secrets. In case you didn't know, it is a bit spicy (should have mentioned that before). Hope you enjoy!

Ronlyn said...

I'm jumping in way late because work exploded for me yesterday.
I've been reading Monica McCartney lately which is a fun switch. I needed to get away from contemp & RS for a couple books because I felt myself falling into a slump.

V-day was AMAZING, of course. My hubby man spoiled me rotten with 20tulips on Friday, a new frame & photo of my boys for my desk, chocolates and then dinner last night. This coming weekend we're havinga date night (which he arrainged in addition to setting up the babysitter)! I'm so lucky.

I hope D&J are treating you right Christy. :-)

PS, Christy, feel free to stop by bookclub this Thursday to get the scoop from Celeste on all things Liars and what she's currently up to. Her next book is a bit different and I can't WAIT to hear more about it.

Christy Reece said...

Alison, rereading the I-Team series is a treat, isn't it? I'm so looking forward to Pamela's Breaking Point in May.

I have Cynthia's book on my must read list for the summer. By that time, the 3rd one will be out too. (:

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Susanna, that's a cool idea to quilt and listen to books at the same time. Wonderful way to multi-task!

Colleen Marlo, the narrator of my CHANCE books, does a great job. I love her voice! If you listen to them, hope you enjoy!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kay! Wow, I haven't read Victoria Holt in years. What a treasure you've found. Enjoy!

Christy Reece said...

Thank you, Elke. I'm glad you like the cover. And you're right, he does look mysterious, doesn't he?

And I think First Lady was my first SEP book. Great book!

Regarding a reread of LCR books, I'm thinking about doing a discussion of one LCR book a month, leading up to the release of SWEET JUSTICE. Might throw that out on a blog next week and see if there's interest. Since we just finished up a RESCUE ME discussion a couple of months ago, we might start in April with RETURN TO ME.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Sarah, thanks! So glad you like the new cover!

Sounds like you're enjoying your Nook and have got some great reads ahead of you. Secrets to the Grave sound good. Might have to check that one out.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara, three snow days definitely meant some good reads for you! And thanks so much, I think my cover is spectacular too! (:

Christy Reece said...

Kris, sounds like you are in a wonderful place. Hope you continue to have good weather.

I haven't started Everyone Loves a Hero yet--saving it until after deadlines, but everyone seems to love it. Definitely looking forward to reading it.

Have a great week. Maybe when you get back home you can go to IHOP. (:

Christy Reece said...

Hey Jackie, thanks. Glad you like the cover!

I feel so left out that I haven't read KMM yet. Even though I struggle with first person, I know I need to read them. They sound so good!

Have a great rest of the week!

Christy Reece said...

Mary, so sorry you were sick. Hope you're feeling all better now! And though you were too sick to read, you still got several great books read. Too cool!

Have a great rest of the week!

Christy Reece said...

Anne, so sorry you're not feeling well! I hope you're all better soon. Back aches are such a pain! (: Okay, my humor fell short, but I sincerely hope you are feeling better.

So glad you're enjoying the books from your prize package! And how cool that you're discovering new authors from your home state. Do you read Sharon Sala? I believe she's from OK too.

Take care of yourself!

Christy Reece said...

Ronlyn, sounds like your V-Day was not only wonderful, but it's going to continue for several more days. How SWEET and romantic!

Oh, I love Monica McCarty's books! Are you reading her new series? I've really enjoyed them.

Enjoy the rest of the week and your date night with your special Valentine.

Thanks for the invitation to the blog. Will try to pop over!

oklanannie said...

YES! YES! YES! Love the LCR discussion idea of one book a week -- that will help feed the need for something Last Chance until September and something SWEET!!!

Im really really late, but for good reason. I was home with a sick kiddo all week. Thankfully she is doing better now.

I loooove the cover Christy! Do you get to pick them? How does that work?

Im still trucking along on my paranormal read this past week. Im on the last book in the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. Its not a normal read for me, but I just cant put it down. I want to know what happens next sooooo bad! lol

Hope every one has had a wonderful week!
