Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

Hope you had a fabulous week and weekend! Mine was crazy busy! I'm diligently working on bringing Dylan and Jamie home safely and ensuring their SWEET HEA, so I hope you'll forgive this very short blog. Please post your recommends from last week so we can all see what books you're loving and feel free to chat amongst yourselves.

As for me, it's D-Day for D&J, so I'm offline all day. Will be back with you tomorrow to announce the winner of the $25 Books-A-Million gift card. Your comment today counts, so be sure to give a recommend for an entry!

Have a great Monday! And be sure to check back tomorrow to see if you're the gift card winner!

*waving* Good morning...last week I was a day late so today, I wanted to get in early...LOL.

I started reading Linda Howard at the "gentle" urging of Crystal and Ronlyn. I am reading about the MacKenzie clan and loving them. I loved Wolf and Joe...such great stories. I don't know why I haven't read her before, but I am loving it.

I also read a new to me author Erin Kern's Looking for Trouble. A cute little story, sometimes Erin tends to run on and on but the story was a cute comtemp story and right now is on sale at bn and amazon for .99.

I am continuing on with the MacKenzie's with Zane, just started his story today. Have a great week everyone!!!

I picked up a new author on friday on the recommendation of Alexis Morgan - Laurie London's Bonded by Blood. A really good read! I also read one by Kate Angell -- can't remember what else! Just downloaded the MacKenzies based on Hope, Crystal & Ronlyn's recommendations.

Reading Allison Brennan's Kiss me Kill me. Can't wait for your new book.

Hello Christy! I am a 'lurker' here normally, but I choose to see if I can post something today!

I recenly read Kresley Cole's latest IAD book 'Dreams of a Dark Warrior'. Wow... I loved the book overall, but I had trouble liking the 'hero' Chase at first. Yeah, talk about a DARK warrior! I am glad I re-read her previous book 'Demon From the Dark' beforehand. That helped alot.

I also just finished something lighter- Marie Force's 'Everyone Loves a Hero'. Again, overall really good! Some had issues with the heroine Olivia... but I think I would have been the same way.

I am debating if I want to stay with another light, fun book next, (Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis) or start the new romantic suspense series by Cynthia Eden. I have heard good things about both!

Mary G said...

Berta you will enjoy both Jill Shalvis or Cynthia Eden depending on if you're in the mood for contemp or rom. susp.

Happy Monday All...

I am hoping March comes in like a lamb and out like a lamb with a lot of lamb in between.

As for my great read last week: Blood Stains By Sharon Sala. Excellent start in a new triology about three sisters who find out after the man who they thought was their father died that they were born into dangerous situations. Excellent book and I can't wait for the next one to come out in the next few months.

Started Allison Brennen's Prequel to her Kinkaid series. I am going to read that first then the series.

I can't wait for Jodi Picoultt's new book to come out tomorrow. I have it preordered so i can start that right away on my nook in the am. Going to hit a hot topic. Lesbian relationships. Should be good.

Have a great reading all. Sorry for the spelling. I started a new med for my MS and I am in a fog this am.

I've spent the last few days in Robyn Carr heaven. I've had most of the Virgin River books for a while. Finally started & I can't stop the binge. They are soooo good.

I just finished reading Linda Lael Millers new book A Creed in Stone Creek. This one has the Creeds and the O'Ballivan's in it if your familiar with Linda's McKettrick/O'Ballivan/Creed series of books. I didn't like it as much as some of the other but it was still a good read. Two more in this series coming still.

Hi All!

I also just started reading the Mackenzie series and I am completely hooked! So far I've read Wolf and Joe's story. I'll be starting the next one tonight. These are the first books I've ready by Linda Howard, but I'm sure they won't be the last.

Berta...I'm with Mary. I think you'll enjoy either Animal Magnetism or the Cynthia Eden seris, just depends on what you're in the mood for.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi everyone,
Christy good luck with the HEA - I hope Dylan and Jamie will behave.

Last week I read the 2nd book in Allison Brennans Lucy Kinkaid series and although I enjoyed it I thought that it was a bit unrealistic that outsiders like Lucy and Sean are allowed this close to an FBI investigation.

I also read "SEP´s "Call me irresistible" and liked it very much.
I am now waiting for "against the wind" and "against the law" by Kat Martin to be delivered als well als the next book in the KGI series by Maya Banks.
In between I plan to reread the last two books of Suz Brockmans TS to get back into this series before Izzies book comes out end of march.
Hope, did you give up on the troubleshooters ( after reading your reviews I thought you were a bit disapointed)?

Have a great week everyone!

I recommend Laid Bare by Lauren Dane. Awesome book.

Hope said...

Alison, glad you are reading them with me. So far, loving Zane!!

Elke, I needed a break from the TS world, I got really upset at the last book and I hear I am in for more heartbreak, so I had lots of others that I KNEW held good things for me, so I moved on. I know Izzy's book comes out soon, so I will move back to them soon.

Berta welcome..glad you are posting with us finally :) I haven't read either that you are debating on, but have heard good things about both. They are both on my TBR pile.

Modokker - I was sooooo looking forward to the new Creed book!!! Hopefully the series gets better for you, I have loved them all.

Hey everyone! What a week last week! Shew. I did celebrate my 5th wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband. He is so very good to me. :)

HOPE!!!! I am so happy that you are enjoying the MacKenzie men! Once you've read all of that series don't stop. Keep on trucking through her other books as well!

Shelly good decision! You listen to us you'll never go wrong. LOL!

Berta I've read the first Cynthia Eden book it was really good. I'm needing to start the second, but haven't managed it in yet. :)

MaryG you are just now getting on the Robyn Carr bandwagon? What is up with that?

Alison I love it that you are hooked too. We are all having a MacKenzie clan party!

Christy good luck with D-man! He is such a hand full... Luckily Jamie is woman enough for him!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

Coming out of 'lurkdom' to say, Christy, I love LCR! Love it and can't wait to read more!

And Hope and other posters, fill me in on this MacKenzie family, please. Sounds like a series several of you are enjoying and something I should add to my TBR pile to start reading.

MaryG, I like Jill Shalvis, but have not read Cynthia Eden, so I'll check her out also, thanks! I too love Robyn Carr, so enjoy!

I just finished Unforgivable by Laura Griffin and have really enjoyed this series and glad she's writing the next book. Unfortunately due to work and travel that was all I read last week.

Thanks all for all the great suggestions. Have a great week!

I didn't get to read much, but I did enjoy Nora Roberts' "Rivers End."

Tara...I hadn't ever read anything by Linda Howard and my book buddies were appalled by this and "gently" informed me, she was a must read. I went on and bought the MacKenzie bundle which has 5 of their stories for $12 (for nook and kindle). The first story is of Wolf and Mary...they rest of the stories if of their children. I love that it is diverse, so far, we have a cowboy (which if you frequent this site you know is one of my favs), a fighter pilot (also a fav), and now we are on to the Navy Seal (all time fav). They are all pretty short stories, not a full length book, but I would highly recommend them.

Ditto to everything Hope said :-).

Crystal (cmac) said...

Yup Hope hit the nail on the head with that comment! Try them Tara!! You'll love them.

Hi all,
I have not a thing to recommend. The one book I was trying to get through last week I ended up giving up on. It just doesn't work for me when the hero and heroine don't even meet or cross paths for the first 100 pages!!! I spent all day flying to the left coast today and now I want to sleep, but don't want to be up at 3 am!!!

Hey Christy and all,
What a dreadfully long week this has been. What's that? It's only MONDAY? Sigh...
In the 'good news department', I read a really fun book this week -Janet Chapman's Dragon Warrior.
Wishing you all a great week, with plenty of down time and books.

For all of you who are new to L.H.s books and like to continue -some of my all time favs by her
are "Mr.Perfect", "Dream Man" and " Open
Season" .They are one of my rereads if I have nothing new on my shelf.

Happy Tuesday! I'm popping in late, but laughing at Hope's "gentle" nudging she's accusing me of. LOL.
Elke! I have the first book...maybe the first two in paperback for the MacKenzie series. When I get the one I'm waiting for for you I'll include those in your package. :-)

Hi Berta and Tara -- so glad you are blogging with us!! I like when my friends come out of "lurkdom"!!!! Lots of great recommendations on Christy's "Monday Recs." Tara, I love Laura Griffin and "Unforgivable" was one of my favorites. Her next one entitled "Snapped" sounds really good and will be released later this year!

I just finished reading Julia London's "Light at Winter's End" and really enjoyed Wyatt's story. After reading the first book, A Summer of Two Wishes", I was glad Wyatt got his HEA in this one.

Also read Cathie Linz's "Luck Be A Lady." Zany banter and a delightful romance. I had read only one other book by her, "Mad, Bad & Blonde" which I enjoyed, as well.

I'm in the middle of Courtney Milan's "Unveiled" and loving it! I think she writes wonderful historical romance!

Elke said...

Ronlyn. that would be so great -thank you. I am really looking forward to June.

Hey all! Sorry I'm late again. SWEET REVENGE kept me up way late last night and, oh wow, the D-man surprised me once again--in a very good way. (:

Welcome Scarlettspace, Tresa, Berta, and Tara! Thank you for coming out of lurkdom. I'm thrilled you've joined us! I hope you'll come by and chat with us often.

What a great list of recommends this week. Aren't we blessed to have so many wonderful choices?

And I'm thrilled that so many people are looking forward to the new LCR books. Will be sharing an excerpt and more with you soon, so stay tuned.

Okay, I'm headed back to do a bit of editing with Dylan and Jamie and finishing up some Rita books too.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!
