Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

How was your week and weekend? Do anything fun, exciting or new? Read anything fabulous? If so, please share the love!

If all goes well, Dylan and Jamie are headed to New York tomorrow. Wish them well on their journey!

Copy edits came for SWEET JUSTICE on Saturday and I'll start on them tomorrow as soon as SWEET REVENGE is out the door. And whenever I get copy edits, that always means that an excerpt is coming soon. So stay tuned! I'm looking forward to visiting with Honor and Seth again and I can't wait to share their story with you!

What do you think about the website changes so far? If you're saying, what changes? Let me point them out to you, because they are kind of subtle, in a way. If you put your cursor over Books, you'll see a list of each LCR book that will take you to its own page or the book page. And, you can get a printable list of the LCR books. Also, on the books page, you'll see I added the main characters for each book. More changes coming soon, especially to my home page, so stay tuned!

Also, you may have heard about this already and I don't have all the details of the auction yet, but a week or so ago, a blogger/reviewer and great friend to the romance community lost her husband in a tragic and senseless act of violence. An auction to assist the family is being held, with lots of different prizes and opportunities for you. As soon as I get more details, I'll let you know so you can have an opportunity to bid. Great prizes, such as signed books, lunch with an author, author and agent critiques and much more! The auction is scheduled for the last week in March and I'll put out a link so you can peruse the items. Stay tuned!

Updated to add the link. Thanks, Ronlyn!

Okay, that's it for me today. I'm headed back to the land of D&J to finish up last minute details. Hope you all have a wonderful week and also, hope you'll keep those so horribly impacted by the devastation in Japan close to your hearts and in your prayers.

here's the auction link so far:

I finished HIDDEN AWAY by Maya Banks, which I enjoyed very much and am almost through Susan Anderson's BURNING UP which is a fast fun read. I get a thrill with her books being in WA.

And, I'm slammed at work, so that's all from me for now.

Oh my I hadn't heard about the blogger's husband's tragic death. I am so sorry!

Will pop over to your site as soon as i get back althogh the few changes i saw I liked!!

I am so looking forward to the SWEET books Christy!

This week I am reading Robyn Carr's latest trilogy. A bit too much detail about horses and gardening for me but the romances and character interactions are great as always.

I needed a book full of action so yesterday i started The Chief - the first in Monica McCarty's Highland Guard series - I just read the prologue but hoping it keeps me riveted.

Hope you all have a great week.

Hi Christy,
Feel free to have D&J make a pit stop at my house on their way to the Big Apple!!!

The website changes are great and I just pulled up the link to Operation Auction, so I will definitely check it out. My Japanese colleagues, whom I work fairly closely with on one project, have reported that they are all safe and sound. So that is good news.

I'm in the middle of Maya Bank's Hidden Away. I read No Place to Run right before that. I'm enjoying both books.

My baby girl won the Dance Masters of America Mid-Atlantic Petite Miss Dance title. Sounds impressive?? She was the only entrant in her category, but still had to work for it, and did impress (and charm) the judges (or so I'm told!). In addition to performing, she had to do an interview and then take three audition dance classes with the junior girls. She beat out all of the junior entrants and received the highest score for the jazz (and a separate award). Now, that I think is impressive, since all those girls were 11 yrs old!

Hi All!

Right now I'm re-reading The Chief by Monica McCarty. I also read the new Lorelie James book Saddled and Spurred. It was much better than the first book in the series, the characters were much more real and emotional, IMO. I've also been reading the Chase brothers series, but Lauren Dane...they are some fun, quick reads.

Ronlyn...I liked Burning Up, it was a lot of fun!! I liked Hidden Away too...especially Garrett :)

I best be getting back to work. Lots to do before I can go to the Houston Rodeo tonight, maybe there'll be some cute cowboys I can check out...LOL!!

Have a good week everyone!

Congrats to your girl Kris!!

Congrats Kris on your daughters success! I'm glad your friends in Japan are safe too!

Hello! Per all of your recommendations I bought all 3 of the KGI series and was addicted all weekend on all of the Kelly men! I'm 3/4 the way thru Sam & Sophie's story and am dying to jump into Hidden Away and the glorious Garrett.

Christy, I like the changes to your site, and Ronlyn I sure will check out the auction.

It's looking good Christy.

I finished my Robyn Carr binge. I just have 2 novellas to find. They were all sooo good. I enjoyed all the little back stories, catching up with all previous couples as well as reading about the main couple. Don’t know how she does that but it works in these books.

Also loved Hidden away by Maya Banks.
Now reading & enjoying so far - How Sweet It Is by Sophie Gunn.

Alison
The Chase brothers series by Lauren Dane is one of my faves.

Kris
Your kids are so talented. Congrats.

I'm donating my untouched ARC of Riding The Night to the auction in case there's nothing I can bid on.

Happy Monday, isn't that an oxymoron, especially after a time change weekend??

I have been keeping tabs on the auction, that was especially nice of you Christy, and I will be bidding on that basket FOR SURE!!! (plus many others lol) A horrible tragedy but nice to see the readers and authors coming together to help.

This week I finished Sam's Creed, in the Hell's 8 series by Sarah McCarty. While I don't hold it as high as I would the first one, it was still a good book, and I am enjoying that series a great deal.

I also finished Unspeakable by Laura Griffin. I LOVED THIS BOOK....No I didn't read it in order, this is the 2nd in the series and I can't wait to read the next one.

Congrats again to Miss Casey Gilson on her dance competition, she looked beautiful and I can't wait to see the video.

Have a great week everyone!!!

I love the changes to your site, Christy.

Please don't laugh, but I finally read Mr. Perfect for the first time last week. I loved it! I also procured all of the Mackenzie's books and am starting those this week.

I need to check out this Hell's 8 series you all keep chatting about and this Laura Dane Chase brothers series too.

Ronlyn, thanks for the link to the auction, I'll be bidding to help out for sure. So tragic.

Chris, congrats to your daughter!

Alison, have fun at the rodeo.

Is it me or is everyone super busy at work lately? I am and need to get back. Have a great week everyone and thanks for all the new authors/books to check out!

Alison said...

Tara...I haven't read Mr. Perfect yet either, but its on my list of books to buy!

Hi All,
Christy I didn´t realise the changes on your website at first because mostly I go straight to Recommend Monday, but now I´ve clicked through the pages and I especially liked it that the main characters of each book are mentioned there.

I didnt read much last week with my hubby home and at the weekend we had our annual "girls only travelling weekend" and we were much too busy having fun - shopping, sightseeing and chatting . But I did finish Shannon K. Butchers "no control" and I loved it.

Hope, when you liked "unspeakable" you will certainly love "unforgivable" and "untraceable" as well. "Untraceable" was my personal favorite - b.t.w. Troy Stockton is a secondary character there.

Have a good week everyone and lets hope and pray that the people in Japan will not have to suffer a nuclear catastrophe after all what already happened there - it doesn´t look so good at the moment.

Tara said...

Alison,

You are more than welcome to my copy of Mr. Perfect! I'd hate for you to buy a copy when I have one sitting here.

Let me know if you are interested and I can figure out how to send it your way.

OK, as is the pattern for me this week, I am LATE.
I read Deadly Heat this week and am reading Hidden Away (which seems to be another pattern after reading the other comments). I have TONS of new releases from the library I can't wait to get to. So many books, so little time...

Crystal said...

I'm a day late! Better late then never.....right?
I read Bella Andre's Wild Heat and Hot as Sin last week. Both were very good.
I am in the process of moving. I think we will be heading south by this weekend. Once we leave I won't be online much. We'll be staying with my grandma who wouldn't know what internet was even if someone tried to explain it. So Until I'm connected to the outside world again... This may be my last post on Recommend Monday for a few weeks. :) I'll have a lot to catch up on! Just don't have to much fun without me!!

Oh Tresa, that sounds like a great book. Love that title!

Christy Reece said...

Thanks for the link, Ronlyn! And the recommends! Are all of Anderson's books based in Washington now? Is that part of a series?

Christy Reece said...

Hey Luci! Oh, I loved The Chief! I'm looking forward to the other two in the series.

More changes coming on the website, but it's a good start! Glad you're looking forward to the SWEET books.

Hope you have a great week too!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kris, congratulations to your little girl! That's a fabulous title and she sounds like focused young lady!

D&J left for NYC about 4:00. Let me know if they stop by your house!

So glad your colleagues are okay! Good news seems to be few and far between there right now.

Alison said...

WOW Tara...that would be great! If you're sure you don't want to keep it. I've heard its a great read. My email address is alisonlee_79@yahoo.com if you're still interested...maybe we could work out a swap.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Alison!

Oh, I went to the Houston Rodeo once, many years ago. What fun! Just a completely different experience for me. See any good looking, drool-worthy cowboys?

Just noticed that Monica McCarty's The Chief is the book of the week at Marie Force's book club. Cool! That'll be a fun discussion. Enjoy!

Tara said...

Alison,

Email headed your way!

Christy Reece said...

Yay, Christy-Leigh, another Recommend Monday success story. Love it!

Glad you like the website changes, more coming soon!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Mary G! Glad you like the changes. More coming soon, including an excerpt for SWEET JUSTICE!

I've heard great things about Sophie Gunn's How Sweet it is. Need to add that to my looooooong list! (:

How wonderful of you to donate your ARC of Riding the Night to the auction! Very SWEET!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Hope, thanks for bidding on my basket! Lots of good stuff in there, I promise!

I'm way behind on Laura Griffin's books, but I need to gather of of them up and have a Griffin-fest soon. (: She's a wonderful writer.

Christy Reece said...

Oh Tara, I loved Mr. Perfect! And I so envy you just now reading the MacKenzies. Such great books and a wonderful family. If you need more recommendations on favorite Linda Howard books, just let me know. I've got several!

Hope your week isn't too busy!

Christy Reece said...

Thanks, Elke! I'm going to add more on the characters when I get a chance. Karen Rose has got the coolest chart for her characters. Probably won't go to those lengths, but I love knowing which book each character played a role in, so I'm hoping others will want to know that about LCR characters, too. (:

Oh, girls' night out sounds like such fun! And I'm still hoping and praying that things turn around in Japan. My heart goes out to everyone there and their loved ones all over the world trying to find them.

Christy Reece said...

Kara, my hubby bought me a night shirt for Christmas with that very saying. (:

Christy Reece said...

Crystal, I hope your move goes smoothly! We'll miss you. Please check in when you can and let us know how everything went. I'll be thinking of you!

I'm afraid I'm getting into a pattern of always being late! I'm buried at work, trying to keep up with the grandkids and it's March Madness in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We area host city this week and the traffic is terrible but we are happy to welcome all visitors and basketball fans!

I just finished "Hidden Away" by Maya Banks. I'm enjoying the KGI series. I also read Cynthia Eden's "Deadly Lies" and this was the best of the series in my opinion and I've loved every one of the "Deadly" books. I also read "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay, a very emotional story centered around the Jewish people in France during the 1940s.

Looking forward to some new books due out in April, along with "Rescue Me" discussion hosted by Christy!!!
