Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

Hope you had a good week last week and a fabulous weekend! Mine was most excellent. I spent a lot of time with Jared and Mia and found out so many things about these two. So glad they're finally ready to share with me. I was getting worried!

On Saturday, I attended the Heart of Dixie Readers Luncheon and got to see some of my favorite people. Kara, thank you for coming such a long way! It was so wonderful to see you again! And Tricia, so great to finally meet you! I also had the pleasure of meeting many new people. I so love romance readers!

Kerrelyn Sparks was the keynote speaker and did a fabulous job. One minute she had the audience in tears and the next, we were bursting out with laughter. I love those kinds of talks!

Also, there was a special tribute to the talented, lovely and much missed Beverly Barton. She was a founding member of the Heart of Dixie chapter and with her passing, a piece of that heart is definitely missing. And since Beverly enjoyed the sparkle, everyone was encouraged to wear tiaras or sparkly things in her honor.

It was a lovely day of remembrance and of celebration for both readers and authors. I also picked up several autographed books and as soon as my deadline is met, I'll be giving them away. So stay tuned!

This week is a critical time for Jared, Mia and myself, so I won't be online much. If you need to ask me a question, feel free to email me or message me on Facebook or Twitter. I'll respond as soon as I can.

Once I'm not under the deadline gun, I'll be sharing lots of things including the cover for SWEET REWARD (which is oh so very yummy) and an excerpt from SWEET REVENGE. So stay tuned for that too!

No recommends from me today, but I am excited about Karen Rose's You Belong To Me that comes out tomorrow and I did pick up Beg for Mercy, Jamie Alden's new romantic suspense, which looks awesome!

Okay, that's it for me as I head back into my writing cave. Hope you all have a wonderful week. Can't wait to hear what you're recommending today!

Good morning,
Glad to hear you had a good luncheon. Still so sad about Beverly Barton. I was at Lori Foster's Reader/Author get together this weekend and had a complete blast. Finally met in persone some on-line friends and made a slew of book-loving new friends. Came home with way too many new books and also won a huge gift basket. I had a nice chat with Lori Foster and she is such an amazing lady. The weekend raised a significant amount for charity, so it was a fun time and a good cause!!! My recommend for the week is Alot Like Love, Julie James. I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Can't wait to hear more good news, blurbs, and covers from you, Christy! It's getting to be a long drought!

Hi Christy
Glad you had a great weekend. Lucky Kara!! I also went to Lori Foster's event & had a fabulous time. It was a reunion of sorts, meeting up with people I met last year. Met Marie Force & Cheryl Brooks & hung with them & Kris(who is a hoot!!) all weekend.

I only had time to read Creed's Honor by Linda Lael Miller. I enjoyed it. Started Trace Of Fever by Lori Foster & it's great so far.

Happy Monday (yep that is sarcasm), hope everyone is doing well this beautiful day (even more sarcasm).

I was in LA all weekend for a karate tournament, so I had lot of travel time for reading, unfortunately I only have 3 that I would like to recommend though.

I stated a series by Jill Shalvis that I have been wanting to read. Instant Attraction and Instant Gratification.

I also finished Trace of Fever, by Lori Foster, which I really enjoyed as well.

I have moved on to a new-to-me author, Anne Marie Novark....A Cowboy's Surrender, so far so good!!

Have a great week everyone!

Hi Everyone!
Sounds like everyone had fun exciting weekends!

Hope, I also liked Jill Shalvis's Instant series too.

I read Lori Foster's Trace of Fear and really like it. Can't remember if I recommended this book last week or not, but I also liked Kristin Higgins My One and Only.

Have a good week everyone!

Hi Everyone,
I had a fantastic long weekend with my hubby, celebrating his birthday.Beeing back to work today feels more like a "blue Monday " than a "Happy Monday"to me, lol.

Reading about all those meetings with other romance readers and authors makes me wish I could "beam" me to the U.S. to attend those events.

No recommendations from me this week. I did some rereads and just started a historical by Kat Martin , which didn´t work for me so far.

Hope and Allison, I read the Instant series by Jill Shalvis just recently - they were great, but I must confess - hadn´t I already read other books by Jill Shalvis , I would´nt have bought the "Instant " books due to the covers. I don´t like covers with portraits and those guys on the covers looked a bit boring to me and not at all like I imagined the Wilder brothers. What did you think about it and what story liked you best ?My fav was Cals story.

Christy, good luck with Jared and Mia .I hope they will behave themselves with you beeing "under the deadline gun".

Have a wonderful week Everyone!

I agree Elke about the pics on the covers. I have only read the first two but I am honestly looking forward to the third the most, maybe cause he was played up through all three books *shrug*

Hi all!

Been awhile since I've posted, silly work travel always getting in my way.

Sounds like a great weekend for several of you.

The Protectors was one of the first series I ever read when I started reading romance, so sad about Beverly Barton.

Over the past couple of weeks I have read the following:

Animal Magnatism by Jill Shalvis. It was OK, I like her other series better, but a good read.
On a Jill Shalvis note, Hope I really enjoyed the Instant series, hope you do as well.

Breaking Point by Pamela Clare, LOVED it!

The Chase by Erin McCarthy, it was OK, but my least favorite in the series so far, hoping the next one will be better.

Any Man of Mine by Rachel Gibson. I am a sucker for the re-kindling love stories, really enjoyed this read.

I am halfway through Living on the Edge by Shannon K Butcher and enjoying it so far. Then up next is Love Drunk Cowboy by Carolyn Brown, has anyone else read this one yet?

Have a great week everyone and as always thanks for your great suggestions I have found some new authors and great reads because of the Monday posts.

Tara, I have read that one by Carolyn Brown...and that is all I can say and still stay within the rules of being nice!! I loved her other cowboy books :) (See I can be nice lol)

by Kylie Brant. I was looking for a new author for my and stumbled on Kylie and fell in love with her book. I am going to buy the rest of her Mindhunters Series. So if you have never read one of her books I recommend you grab one of the Mindhunters and and find a new author to love. Happy reading all.

Hi Everyone! So glad you had a great weekend Christy! I did too! My dad was visiting from out of state (hadn't seen him in two years) and we had a blast. So the only new thing I read last was Simply Irresistible and The Sweetest Thing by Jill Shalvis. Both were pretty good straight up romances. I also started a re-read of all of the LCR books in order from the begininng. Right now I am up to Second Chance and I don't want it to end. I highly recommend them!! Have a great week everyone!

Thanks Hope! I appreciate your nice suggestion. It would be my first read by her, but now I might look into one of her other books first. I really appreciate the feedback.

Hey everyone! Jared and Mia allowed me just a few minutes to stop by. So great to see all of these recommends! And Kris and Mary, how fabulous that you got to meet each other at Lori Foster's event. I'm so envious! I know you both had a great time.

Thank you Barb for the reread of LCR and for recommending them. (:

And thanks everyone for the good wishes. So happy that you're looking forward to the covers and excerpts and most of all, you're looking forward to the SWEET releases! No much longer!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Feel free to drop by and add more recommends. You know our motto! It's never too late to recommend a good book!

Hugs and smooches to all!

Hi Everyone!

Just finished Karen Rose's latest, "You Belong to Me" and it was outstanding!! This one is the beginning of several books she's going to write based in Baltimore. I loved so many of the newly introduced characters and can't wait for the next one in June, 2012. This book is dark and the villain is disgustingly over-the-edge and whacko. There wasa peek at the next book and the female lead is someone we met in "Silent Scream" that I really liked so I'm eager to read this series. Luckily, I'll have three SWEET new books in the dear to my heart LCR series to read in the interim. I love when SWEET JUSTICE comes wrapped so SWEETly!!

I also read Julia Spencer-Fleming's new "One Was a Soldier" and O M G!!! She just keeps getting better and better. Her "Miller's Kill" series is just amazing. Not a lot of romance but enough to keep me interested and JSP's stories and her writing style are what keeps me reading her books.

I've got Harlen Coben's "Caught," along with Madeline Hunter's "Dangerous In Diamonds" up next in the stack to read. And then the first book in Lori Foster's new series. I'm anxious to read it because so many have enjoyed and recommended it. Of course, hearing that Dare is quite hunky doesn't hurt!

As always, thanks for the recs. Christy, I'm anxiously looking forward to hearing more about Jared and Mia.

On a sadder note, I, too, am going to miss Beverly Barton's wonderful books. I finished "Dead Before Morning" last week and closed the covers with tears in my eyes. She's going to be missed by so many. Her books are all among some of my favorites.

Hope you all have a great week!
