Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you shop till you dropped? What about reading? Did you find a buried treasure or discover a new gem? Tell us about it!

My weekend was busy but wonderful. I went to my RWA chapter's Christmas party at Carla Swafford's house. We had such fun! Fabulous food and lots and lots of laughter.

The fun and laughter continued Saturday night. My sister and brother-in-law came for a visit. After dinner, while hubby and brother-in-law watched football, my sister and I went to see Breaking Dawn. Such fun! There were no big surprises, but it was a good girly movie and we both loved it.

This week I'm going to do some writing and preparing for the new year. I'm anticipating that 2012 will be extremely busy and productive! However, there's still some excitement to be had in 2011. Anyone notice that we're only 21 days away from the release of SWEET REWARD? Wow, seems like we've been waiting for Jared and Mia's book forever! I love these two characters and cannot wait for you to read their story!

Last week, SWEET REWARD was reviewed by Joyfully Reviewed, with the reviewer calling it "a superb dramatic feat with a harrowing and unforgettable finish." Woohoo! And I was thrilled to learn that it's a Joyfully Recommended title for December! Here's the link to the review:

Remember last week when I mentioned I was in the middle of Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen? Well I finished and thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a fun, sweet and delicious historical romance. Highly recommended!

Okay, that's it for me. I'm headed into my writing cave for some quality time with some intriguing characters. Looking forward to hearing what you're recommending.

Have a great week all!

Good morning,
I'm heartily practicing work avoidance. Too much to do makes me not want to do anything!!

The weekend was busy with the usual dance stuff. The dance company also had our Christmas party, which was fun, despite the fact that I spend an obscene amount of time on a normal week with my dance peeps. Good thing we like each other! :-)

I was traveling last week and missed Recommend Monday. I also forgot to bring my Kindle with me and it wasn't until the following day that I realized I could use my iPod!! I'm such a dope! Anywho, my recommends are:

Snapped, Laura Griffin- I've been getting all caught up on the Tracers series and this installment (the 4th) was, by far, the absolute best IMO. The previous books have been good, but I felt there was too much technical stuff and not enough romance. Snapped represents a nice balance with a great storyline.

Head Over Heels, Jill Shalvis- this is the 3rd Lucky Harbor book and I really enjoyed the opposites attract underlying theme. Sawyer is so stoic, but watching Chloe drive him insane is good fun. I'm happy to hear there will be more from Lucky Harbor!

Space in His Heart, Roxanne St. Claire- I was a little skeptical that an astronaut themed book would work for me, but I really enjoyed it. It was a really good story and I thought the set up with the prologue and epilogue was good too. I'm happy I chose this book and thanks to Anne for nudging me to shove this book to the top of my TBR. It was an unexpected pleasure!!

Happy Monday everyone, can you hear my sarcasm? I have missed the last few RM's cause of a bum eye, and it still isn't completely healed but it is healed enough to read a bit, just not to pay bills :)

Last week, I read Moving Target by Cheyenne McCray. This was an awesome Romantic Suspense. It is an older book, but it was new to me, so just as fun.

I also read Unfinished Business by Nora Roberts. A cute, easy and quick read. Good contemp for sure.

I am just starting Roxie St Claire's Space in His Heart. I am only a few chapters in, but I can tell it is gonna be exactly what I needed.

We are 3 weeks away from the karate world games, so the Frost home is bustling with training and getting ready for the week long karate tournament. I have, thank goodness, finished my shopping for Christmas and now it all just has to be wrapped. Any volunteers?

Have a great week everyone.

Everybody is reading so many marvellous books and I am going through the worst slump ever!! Still reading Trish McCallan's Forged by Fire but it seems as if i am reading a page a day - which is abslutely not the book's fault!

Next weekend we are going up to our holiday house for the weekend and hope to get lots of reading in!

I have been reading a backlist Susan Anderson "Present Danger" that I borrowed for my kindle from BookLending.com. It is ok so far, but nothing spectacular. I have been reading some of the older books on my TBR shelves this past week.

A water line break at the pre-school brought a two-year old cutie to Nannie's door this morning so we're playing and having a tea party. Of course, little princesses must get their beauty sleep so I have a little break.

The best recommend from me has already been mentioned. SPACE IN HIS HEART by Roxanne St. Claire was such a fun book to read. I loved Commander Deke! Lots of St. Claire's trademark wit, sass, and sizzle. It was just the kind of read I needed last week. I would recommend it to one and all!

I've been reading lots of 99-cent holiday novellas, too. They are fun and cute and I enjoy them during the holiday season.

Looking foward to the 27th when Jared and Mia come a calling! And I'm still anxious to hear what the news from Christy's writing cave will bring.

Have a good week everyone! Tis the season . . .

Christy I am so glad you enjoyed Lord and Lady Spy.
I once again am lacking in the recommend department. It is a sad day around here when I don't get my reading time in, but I'm sure I'll make up for it soon.
I hear Kara enjoyed her recent historical so I'm doing a little happy dance for that. lol
Have a great weekend everyone!

I don't have much to recommend, didn't get a lot of reading time lately, but I did read Hide from Evil by Jamie Alden the second book in her new series. It was really good I am really liking this series. Well thats all for me I have to go START my Christmas shopping. Every year I wait till the last minute, and every year I say next year I will start earlier. Well maybe next year I will start earlier! LOL

Happy Monday All!

I'm still on my historical kick...I read and really enjoyed Jennifer Ashley's Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage and The Many Sins of Lord Cameron. I can't wait for Hart's book!

I also finally got to read Jill Shalvis's Head Over Heals...dumb delayed Kindle release! I loved it! I'm happy she has more Lucky Harbor books coming out.

Now I just need to decide what to read next :-)

Have a great week everyone!

Hi Christy, Hi everyone,
I am just back from a wonderful long weekend with my hubby in Berlin - we celebrated our 25th wedding aniversery and had a really great time.

I read the next book in the Lady Julia Grey series "Dark road to Darjeeling" and loved to see how Julia and Nicholas struggled to adjust to married live while searching for a murderer.
I also started the next book in the Lucy Kincaid series by Allison Brennon "If I should die" and so far I really like it.

Hope , I missed you the last few weeks. I hope your eye gets better soon and I keep my fingers crossed for the Karate tournament.

Christy, congratulations for the fabulous review of Sweet Reward. I am really glad the waiting for Jareds and Mias story is almost over.
B.t.w. when will we hear about those new characters you are involved with in your writing cave?

Have a nice week everyone!

I am here to announce to one and all that I read, and really liked, an historical last week. :-) While it's not the first ever historical I've enjoyed, they are admittedly few and far between for me. The book is The Madness of Ian Mackenzie. The other winners from last week for me were Marie Force's Marking Time (Christy, do not read without tissues handy) and Dee Davis's Deep Disclosure. Right now I am really enjoying Melinda Leigh's She Can Run, which I borrowed from Kindle's new lending program.

Hey Christy and friends!

Totally bummed I missed last weeks Rec Monday. One of my sons had bronchitis so he was home last Monday and most of the week. Then the other son had it the rest of week and into the weekend. To top it off, I finally went back to work today after being home with my kids for the last five years only to find out my son has an ear infection and had to be picked up from school early. Man oh man I have been super busy! In case you all were curious, I am an infant teacher. I work with babies under 1 years old who are super cute, drool, and have smooth chunky thighs I want to squeeze. They're so sweet.....when they're not screaming and crying that is.

Christy, Congratulations on that awesome review!! Also, I still haven't seen Breaking Dawn yet. I'm super jealous you went. :)

Here is a quick summery of what I've read in the past week or so:

-Twelve Wicked Nights by Nadia Aidan (Really enjoyed it)
-Her Christmas Pleasure by Karen Erickson (Really enjoyed it)
-Don't Open Till Christmas by Leslie Kelly (Liked it)
-Pleasure's Edge by Eve Berlin (Really enjoyed it)
-The Seeking Kiss by Eden Bradley (It was ok)
-Simply Sexual by Kate Pearce (Hated it)
- French Quarter by Lacey Alexander (Currently reading and OMG I am on sex overload! I never thought I'd say those words....I had no idea it was going to be like this! I highly doubt I will read the next one, at least not right after anyway.)

Have a great week everyone and hope you're all getting your shopping done!! I haven't even started yet and I'm usually done by now.

Once again I must recommend Marie Force...I just finished Marking Time and it was FABULOUS! Make sure you read Treading Water first though. My kids have been keeping me super busy so that is all I have to recommend. Congratulations on the great review of Sweet Reward. Can't wait for Jared and Mia!

Hi

I have also got a historical recommend and if you have a Kindle it is free. Checkout Tracey Jane Jackson's The Bride Price(Civil War Brides Series) it is worth a look at.
At the moment I am checking out Ashely March and so far it looks like a buy.

Favorite: Jill Shalvis' Head Over Heels!!!!!!!!! Very sad that I have to wait until July of 2012 to get the next book.

I WANT Sweet Reward so bad I can taste it. sigh..... I just KNOW it is going to be GREAT!!!!!

Hey Everyone! Sorry I'm so late in responding. It's been a hectic couple of days. Had lots and lots of busy work to do and by the time I finished each day, my brain was numb and out of words. LOL Imagine me speechless!

Thanks so much for the all the great recommends. I'm heading over to Amazon in a few minutes for some 'one click' Kindle buying.

So happy everyone is excited about SWEET REWARD. And yesterday, I received two copies in the mail. Oh. My! I do believe this might be my most favorite cover yet. The colors really pop and well Jared is...sigh...(:

I do hope to be able to share some news with you soon about a new series and new characters. I so appreciate your interest!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. Feel free to come back here and comment anytime if you finished a great book and can't wait until next week to share!

Happy Wednesday all!
