Recommend Monday!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was good but super busy and looks like this week will be even busier. More about that in a minute.

Thanks again to all those who have emailed or sent me messages about SWEET REWARD and the end of LCR. I so love hearing how much you've enjoyed the series. If you haven't heard back from me yet, please be patient. I promise to answer all your messages.

Your list of 2011 favorites was great! I've already added about twenty new books and a couple of new series to my TBR list. And thank you to those who included the SWEET trilogy on your list! Congrats to SusanT for winning an LCR book of her choice and a $10 Barnes and Noble card! Sue, I'll email you soon or you can email me at christy@christyreece.com with your mailing info.

I'm going to be out of pocket most of this week. Many of you may remember that my mom had knee replacement surgery last April. Well, it's time for the other knee, so I'll be spending a lot of time at the hospital and at my mom's home. The Internet service is spotty at best, so I won't be able to check in very often. Also, I won't be here for next week's Recommend Monday. However, I have a special treat for you! One of the blog's regular commenters, Oklanannie, is going to do a guest blog. I believe she's going to talk about all the wonderful ebook authors she's discovered recently and invite you to post your favorites, too. And of course, she'll ask for your regular recommended reads from the week before.

Since I'm going to be pushed for time over the next few months, I may make a reader's guest blog a monthly thing. So if you think you'd be interested in doing something like this, please let me know. I only have two rules for this blog: Stay positive and non-controversial. You can blog about your favorite romance book of all time, why you read romance or anything romance related. If you think you might be interested in something like that, shoot an email to me at christy@christyreece.com and let's chat!

Getting back to the business at hand, I do have a recommend for you. Last week, I finished up a fabulous romantic suspense by Elisabeth Naughton called Wait For Me. I believe it's an ebook only and was absolutely fantastic. Full of angst, tears, emotion, suspense and lots of sizzle. Here's the link over at Amazon if you want to check it out. http://www.amazon.com/Wait-Me-Romantic-Suspense-ebook/dp/B006P3B9MO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326723753&sr=8-1

Okay, that's it for me. I'll try to check in later on this week and say hey. Looking forward to hearing about your recommends!

Have a marvelous Monday!

I just completed Kimberly Frost's All that Bleeds and wow what a good book! The first Etherlin romantic fantasy is a dark thriller. The story line is action-packed and will keep you guessing until the end, but it is the forbidden relationship (they should have never met!) between the muse and the ventala (Vampire).

Hello Monday, I'm not sure I'm ready for you today!

A quick recommend from a buddy read & discussion session I did with a group on Goodreads this past week. Kristen Ashley is a self-pub author whose SWEET DREAMS was an experience for me (titles with SWEET seem to grab my attention!). Anyhoo -- it was a wild ride literally. Motorcycle babes, hot alpha males, murder and mayhem all mixed together for an interesting and entertaining time. There's some x-rated language and editing errors to contend with but all in all I had a fabulous time with the experience.

Off to play Lego Star Wars with my grandson who is out of school for Martin Luther King Day.

I didn't have a lot of luck last week. :( I read a couple that weren't very impressive. One that I hated which I am still wondering why I even finished it. Anyway I did a reread of Pamela Clare's Surrender. As always it gets better every time I read it. I can't wait for Connor's book Defiant comes out!!
Christy I'll be praying your mom has a smooth successful surgery with a speedy recovery! She is lucky to have a wonderful daughter to help her through this! I remember when my grandma had her knees replaced and the strength I saw in her simply amazed me!
Looking forward to a recommend Monday with Oklanannie!!

Sending prayers to your mom Christy. I am sure it helps her to know you are there with her. Can't wait for Anne's blog :)

I didn't have a ton of success last week, but I do have one recommend. I finished the second in Carly Phillips's new series. This one called Destiny. I really liked it. Cute, easy fun read.

I am in the process of reading a *gasp* historical. I know, I know, I think I am folding to the pressure. I will let you know next week what I thought, but I am liking it so far.

Have a great week everyone.

Hey All! Checking in from the hospital. Mom's surgery went great. She's watching television and talking like nothing's up. I think the pain meds are helping but hopefully she'll continue to do well.

Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers. They are very much appreciated!

Looks like there were some great reads last week and a few disappointments. Hopefully you'll find some suggestions here that will strike your fancy.

Oh, and I just have to say I'm so proud of you Hope for reading a historical. Maybe this is the start of something wonderful! (:
