Good Monday All!
Hope you had a good weekend and hope you have some great recommendations for us today. With Thanksgiving coming up later this week, in between naps and football, there's got to be some time for a good book. Right?
It's a busy week here in the Reece household. We're getting both fur-kids ready to visit their grandmother, so that means baths, which they hate. However, it's got to be done. Then the food prep begins. I'm taking turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, corn casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy and a cobbler. Told my mom I'm bringing all this to keep her from having to do so much. Then she tells me all the stuff she's still going to cook. LOL However, with over 20 relatives and friends coming, we'll probably need it all.
Thanksgiving is one of my very favorite holidays. There're no expectations to do anything other than cook, eat and spend time with loved ones. When my family gets together, it's loud, full of laughter and there's always a football game, sometimes two, going on in the background. Can't wait!
What about you? Any big plans for this week? I know not all of you celebrate Thanksgiving, so tell us what else is going on. Any fun plans for the week or next weekend?
Thanks again for those who participated in the SWEET JUSTICE and SWEET REVENGE chat. Lots of fun! And everyone who commented will get a signed copy of SWEET REWARD. Yay! If you didn't get to join in, don't worry. I'll have another chat sometime in January. And since it's the last of LCR, we might make it extra SWEET and chat about all the books! Stay tuned.
Last week, in between writing, editing a book I may self-publish and a couple of doctor's appointments, I did read a very good book! I think Ann, on GoodReads, recommended it and I'm so glad she did. The book is Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley. Has anyone read it? It's a wonderful contemporary romance with some of my favorite themes--tortured hero, feisty heroine, sexy, romantic and full of angst. Loved. It!
Though I try hard everyday to remember and be thankful for all my blessings, the week of Thanksgiving always seems to highlight those blessings even more. So I want to take this opportunity to thank you, my readers. Writing is a passion for me and being a published author a dream come true, but it's never easy. There are often many more disappointments and hurts than there are triumphs and happiness. However, you, my readers, are the greatest happiness in my career. Thank you for buying and reading my books, telling others about my books, sending emails, comments and messages. You brighten up my writing life and I thank you most sincerely.
And, because I love you, I'm offering 5 copies of SWEET REVENGE to the first five people who comment with: "I WANT SWEET REVENGE!" I know many of you already have your copy, so feel free to tell others to come by and comment!
Okay, that's it for me. Gotta go bathe a SWEET but stinky Maltese and then do a bit of writing!
Wishing you all a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving week! And don't forget to tell us what great books you read last week!
