Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All

Hope you had a fabulous week last week. Mine was stupendously busy but in a very good way. SWEET JUSTICE is one week from deadline and though there's lots of fixing and polishing, along with some adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing to be done, the glorious end is in sight!

SWEET JUSTICE is one of those books where I had a good idea of my characters from the beginning. But as I wrote them, I fell more in love with Seth and Honor and got more repulsed with the villain. LOL Doesn't get much better than that!

Once this deadline's over, I'll take a few days downtime to see to bunches of stuff that always gets pushed aside during deadlines, like doctor's visits, house cleaning and 1001 other things I try not to think about while on deadline. In between all of these things, I'm going to try to get in some reading. So, though I have no 'I have read these and recommend them' books, here're a few that's at the top of my TBR pile. All sound wonderful and I can't wait to dig in to them.

Surrender of a Lady - Tiffany Clare (Have heard great things about this debut book!)
Virgin River - Robyn Carr (I think I may be the last person on earth who hasn't read these books!)
Ride the Fire - Pamela Clare (Already hooked on her romantic suspense and now getting addicted to her historicals!)

Of course, I can only take a couple of days of downtime because SWEET REVENGE is due early next year. Yes, it's back to work on Jamie and Dylan's story. They've been talking to me lately and I'm sincerely hoping we can all get along better now that I've given Jamie an opportunity to heal a bit.

Once SWEET REVENGE is done, it'll be time to start on Jared and Mia's story in SWEET REWARD. I haven't met Mia yet, but I have to say that from the few glimpses I've had of Jared in SWEET JUSTICE, I am already in love with him. I think you'll love him too!

Last week, in the midst of deadline fever, I received the most awesome news (thank you again, Mary, for letting me know) that LAST CHANCE has been nominated by Romantic Times magazine for Best Romantic Suspense of 2010. I am beyond thrilled for the nomination and am so honored to be on the list with so many wonderful romantic suspense authors. So, no matter the outcome, thank you RT for this honor! Here's the link for the entire list of nominated books: http://www.rtbookreviews.com/rt-awards/nominees-and-winners

Also, I think Thursday, November 11, the December issue of Cosmo magazine is released and within that edition is an excerpt of LAST CHANCE. If you happen to see it in stores, can you let me know? I'll take a deadline break and rush out and get some copies!

Okay, that's it for me for this week. I'm sorry I didn't get to respond to last week's comments and though I probably won't get to comment on today's either, I am reading all the posts and hope to catch up as soon as Honor and Seth are on their way to NY!

Looking forward to seeing what you've been up to and the great books you're recommending this week.

Happy Monday!

Good Morning everyone!

FINALLY I got some good reading in last week! I finished:
Fade to Black by: Leslie Parrish it took me a little bit to get into this book, but once I did I was hooked.
Much Ado About Marriage by: Karen Hawkins. Really enjoyed this book.
This side of Heaven by: Karen Robards I LOVED this book. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. Also by Karen Robards I read Wild Orchids, again it took me a bit to get grabbed into this book but it was worth the effort in the end.
Last but not least I read the short story Miracles by: Judith McNaught. I really liked this story I just wish Nick would have had his own book. I really enjoyed Nick as a secondary character in a few other of Judith's books.

Anyway.. I get to go to a Barnes and Noble this week so I am looking forward to everyone's recommendations!
Have a great Monday everyone!
Good luck with the deadline Christy. And CONGRATULATIONS on the well deserved nomination!!

Christy, I am with you...I haven't read the Robyn Carr series either but it is on my list to get. Good luck in your final week :-)

Last week I tried an author recommended here, Roxanne St Claire. Edge of Sight. I LOVED THIS BOOK. I can't wait for the next in the series.

I also finished Under Fire by Jo Davis. I have read the series way out of order, but I loved it anyway. This is a great series.

RC Ryan's Montana Glory was my cowboy book this week. This was a good series, very sweet and a great way to bring it all together.

I finished Stephanie Tyler's Lie with me. LOVE THIS SERIES, can't wait till the end of November for the next installment.

I decided to start the next Troubleshooters book, so I am on to FlashPoint. Nash and Tess' story. Don't know that any of them can top SAM, but we will see.

Have a great week everyone.

Hi All!

Edge of Sight by Roxanne St. Claire is an excellent read! I found out this morning she has a short story prequel to this on her website. I’ve ordered the books I’m missing from her Bulletcatcher’s series…I plan to start on that this week!

I also read Stephanie Tyler’s Lie With Me…Can’t wait for the next in the series to come out in a couple weeks!

I finished the last in the Wallflower series, A Wallflower Christmas, by Lisa Kleypas…It was a nice follow up to Scandal in Spring. We get to see how the Wallflowers are doing and there’s another love match made :)

Have a great week everyone!

AlisonP, I didn't know there was another Wallflower book. I will have to look that one up. It wasn't until AFTER I read The Edge of Sight book that I realized there was another series ahead of this one, so I have it on my ever growing to be purchased list.

Congrats for the nomination Christy!!

Ooh I cannot rec Ride the Fire enough. I love Pamela Clare's romantic suspensse but a si always say, her historical romances are in a world of their own. I have been patiently waiting for Connor's book ! Very patiently :).

I love the Virgin River series too. The first three were great althoguh i enjoyed most of the rest too.

Hope I am glad Roxanne St Claire's Edge of Sight is good. I read her Bulletcathchers and this is on my to-buy list. I really really enjoyed Jo Davis' series and have her Ride the Fire on order. Will read it as soon as i touches my hands.

After having read and loved Maya Banks' The Darkest Hour (I preordered the second book too), I started ELizabeth Jennings' Shadows at Midnight but I put it aside for a bit as it was too slow for me. I love dialogue, banter and interaction. For the first half of the book, that's where i got to till now), between a question asked by one person and the reply by the other person there are a couple of pages of thoughts going on. Once I get to the answer I would have forgotten what the question is. The kind of book this is does need to have characters' thoughts but this was overdoing it for me. I was really looking forward to this book so am a bot disappointed till now. Will try and finish it too.

I started Tessa Dare's Three Nights with a Scoundrel and am loving it.

Hi Christy, hi everyone,
congratulations Christy for the nomination - I keep my fingers crossed for you winning the award.

Last week I read the I -team series (just finished "naked edge" yesterday) and I am already looking forward to the next book (Natalies story? ) Does anyone know when it comes out ?
Crystal and Hope, Iam definitely on team Julian/Marc - they are great characters . Marcs story was emotionally the most gripping and he really deserved his happy ever after .

Currently I am reading "deadly intent" by Kylie Brant and it is quite good so far. I especially like it that Adam Raiker is more present in this book and I really hope that he will get his own story.

As many of you seem to love historical romances i thought of a really great british author ,Georgette Heyer . Her books are set in the regency era in England and they have great characters and are generally very witty. I especially recommend "these old shades", "Sylvester" and "Arabella" . My sister and I used to read all of her books and the best ones we read so often that the pages came loose and some got lost. So I was glad to discover that her books were recently newly released and I plan to order her books one at a time. If you like Jane Austen´s Pride and Prejudice" you certainly will like Miss Heyers books as well.

Have a great week everyone.

Congrats again on being nominated. That is so awesome and exciting! And although I'm sorry you're working so hard on making deadline, I'm excited that the book is almost done!!

I'm taking a few minutes downtime while cruising to check emails, etc. and couldn't resist checking in!! We're having a great time so far, and I actually had a bit of a nap today!!

I'm working on Jill Shalvis Simply Irresistable. Last week I read Happy Ever After by Nora Roberts, Fragile by Shiloh Walker, and Kade by Cheyenne McCray. This was my first Shiloh Walker book and OMG! it was so good!! I was 34 pages in and went on Amazon to order Quinn's story. I can't wait to read it.

Have a great week!

Christy!!!!! Congratulations, again. So excited for you!
I made sure I was very happy with my book choice this week - I am rereading Unlawful Contact by Pamela Clare, and savoring every word.
I also read Susan Mallery's Best of Friends and Robyn Carr's Summer in Sonoma. I have SO many new releases I want to get. I was lucky enough to get a GC to BAM for my bday. Now, I just have to find time to get there!

Good morning everyone! Congrats once again to Christy on her more than well-deserved nomination. LAST CHANCE was definitely a SWEET read!!!

This past week I finished up Brenda Novak's "Heat" series and really enjoyed each of the three books.

I also read "Montana Glory" and got my cowboy fix, as well. This was a delightful series by R.C. Ryan.

I finished Susan Mallery's "Best of Friends" yesterday and totally enjoyed this story. Talk about a dysfunctional family -- this one definitely had major issues.

This week I'll finish up "Indulgence In Death" by J.D. Robb and also "Happily Ever After" by Nora Roberts. In case you haven't seen the post by Marie Force, she's hosting a book club on Thursday on her blog and reviewing Roberts' "HEA." Should be fun!

Christy, I'm really really getting anxious to learn more about this new evil villain . . . you've mentioned her/him alot lately and I'm thinking "doozy"!!!!

Take care and everyone have a fantastic week!!
