Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

Is it really Spring? Today's high is 57 degrees! That's a December temp! One good thing about it though is that it's perfect writing weather. I'm about a month away from deadline and deadline dementia has started already. Crazy weird dreams, odd food cravings and the insatiable desire to throw objects against my office wall. Good times. (:

Last week I finished up page proofs for SWEET JUSTICE. Now Honor and Seth are in NYC enjoying their well-deserved and hard earned HEA and I'm here in Bama working on SWEET REWARD and watching Jared and Mia deny their feelings. More stubborn characters! I want to hurry and get as much writing done for them as possible because copy edits will be coming soon for SWEET REVENGE. I'm looking forward to another visit with Jamie and Dylan. Even though these two almost drove me crazy, I ended up loving them. And, once I finish copy edits, I'll be sharing an excerpt with you. I can't wait for you to read their story!

Good news alert! I was thrilled to learn that SECOND CHANCE finaled in the Greater Detroit RWA Booksellers Best Awards Contest. Yay for Keeley and Cole!

Don't forget that the countdown for SWEET JUSTICE continues with our next LCR discussion on May 24. We'll be discussing RUN TO ME. I've heard from several of you who are very excited to revisit Shea and Ethan. There's just something about Ethan. (: And there will be prizes!

What about you? What have you been up to? Read some great books you want to tell us about? In between deadline craziness, I did finish Cherry Adair's Hush. What a wild, fun book! Definitely recommended reading to those who love fast paced action and sizzling romance.

For those of you who might be looking for an opportunity to help the storm ravaged South, Help Write Now is a writing community auction to benefit southern storm relief. Lots of great items to bid on. I'm donating signed copies of my LCR series--the first six books, and also, a signed copy of SWEET JUSTICE. (As soon as I get one) I think the auction for my item ends tomorrow, May 17. Here's the link if you're interested: http://helpwritenow.blogspot.com/2011/05/day-8-item-1-six-signed-books-plus.html

Also, if you're on GoodReads, I just signed up to give away three copies of SWEET JUSTICE. I think the giveaway is still pending approval by the GoodReads' staff, but you should be able to sign up soon.

Okay, that's it for me. I'm diving into my writing cave and may not come out until Spring arrives once more. Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Now tell us what we should be reading!

Congrats to Keeley and Cole, and of course you, such a great book and highly deserved.

Last week I started Marliss Melton's SEAL series, and finished the first 2. One good thing about finding a series late in the game is you don't have to wait for the next book to come out. So far I am loving this series.

I also started but didn't finish a book I was really looking forward to, but since I had good luck with Marliss' books, I am willing to not be bitter about it lol.

I read Marie Force's Maid for Love and would highly recommend it to anyone. It was a great contemporary romance, I can't wait for the next one that Marie so nicely had release on my birthday (just kidding she didn't do it on purpose, but it is a nice present for me anyway lol).

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Congrats Christy on so much good news!

Not much of a reading week last week for me. I was busy working on painting and the final touches to the redone basement playroom. The deadline was the birthday party sleepover this past weekend. Even after getting a good night sleep last night, I'm still incredibly exhausted. But, I think all the girls had a good time, so it was worth it!

Hi All!

Last week I continued my Steele Street streak...say that 3 times real fast! LOL! I read and really enjoyed Crazy Kisses, Crazy Love, and Crazy Sweet.

Congrats on Second Chance! Way to go Keeley and Cole :)

Hey Hope! Thanks so much!

Regarding Marliss Melton, I noticed on an Amazon thread that she's got some new e-books out or coming out. I think they're a continuation of her SEAL series. Might want to check them out!

Need to add Marie's new series to my TBR. I've heard great things about it from several others. And how nice for her to release the next one on your b'day! (: Fabulous birthday present!

Have a great week!

Hi Everyone!
Christy, congratulations to Second Chance becoming a finalist in the Best Awards Contest. And I am really looking forward to that excerpt of SWEET REVENGE.

No recommendations from me this week. After finishing "Merciless" by Mary Burton (which I enjoyed very much ) i did some rereads.

Hope, after stopping by your "bookshelf", I decided to read some of Marliss Meltons books again.
Did you like Hannahs story ? My personal fav is Westys and Sarahs book. If you continue with this series I´d like to know what you thought of their story.

I am looking forward to the discussion on 24th of May - Ethan is one of my favorite characters and I plan to reread RUN TO ME during the coming weekend.

Have a great week all!

Hey Kris, thanks so much!

Congrats on getting the playroom finished and for surviving a sleepover! You are a SWEET mom!

Have a great week...get some rest!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kay! Thanks so much!

And you know how I love to hear that my books are being reread, so ((((hugs)))) to you. (:

Have a great week!

Elke, thanks so much for stopping by my bookshelf :) I have loved the 2 I have read so far. I can't wait to dig further in to SEAL Team 12.

Christy Reece said...

BTW, Blogger is acting crazy today, so if you try to post and it doesn't look like it went through, double check. Three out of four of my responses showed up even when it said it didn't work. Sigh...

Christy Reece said...

Hey Debra! Oh, I adore Karen Rose's books. She is an auto-buy for me. My favorites are I'm Watching You and Count to Ten, but they're all fabulous reads. I can't wait for You Belong To Me next month! Already have plans to read it on my flight to or from NY RWA, depending upon when it's released.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Alison! Thanks so much! I'm thrilled for Cole and Keeley. (:

Those Crazy books are great, aren't they? How many are in that series?

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Elke! Thanks so much. And glad you're looking forward to a SWEET REVENGE excerpt. I so love this book and hope you guys will too!

BTW, forgot to tell you that when I sent your prize package last week, I included an extra surprise. Hope you enjoy!

Glad you're looking forward to the RUN TO ME discussion. Enjoy your visit with Ethan!

Have a great week!

Can anyone see my last post?

Hey Christy congrats!!

I read all of Marliss' SEAL books. She is such a sweet lady. She sent me two books of hers signed and they are treasured together with my Christy Reece signed books :). for someone who will probably never get a chance to get to a booksigning living so far away, these books are precious. Jacquie D'Alessandro also sent me two signed books of hers. Romance authors are some of the sweetest women around.

Slow reading year for me. Have just started Pamela Clare's Breaking Point but I haven't even finished chapter 1 yet.

Christi said...

Yay, Christy!! Such fantastic news all the way around...I am dying for the Sweet books to be out already!?!? hehe...yes, I am impatient!!

I have been reading the I-Team books by Pamela Clare. They have all been pretty good, but UNLAWFUL CONTACT (#3) wiped me off my feet. OMG, it was good!!!! I only have BREAKING POINT left and everyone says that it's the best so I am really excited to start it in the next couple of hours.

Christy, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I received my box from you for the RETURN TO ME discussion...WOW!! You were entirely too generous, but OMG, it's all such fun stuff!! I blogged about the books today and gave a shout-out for SWEET JUSTICE.

BTW, I have never read any of Marliss Melton's...sounds like I need to check her out! I love Recommend Mondays! smiles...

Christy Reece said...

Crystal, don't see it yet. So frustrating, I know. I think Blogger had some major issues last week but had hoped they were all cleared up. Apparently not. ):

Hope you'll give it another try!

krisgils33 said...

@Christi Snow--
Team Marc! Yeah baby. (he was my fave until Zach came along...you won't be disappointed!)

Christy Reece said...

Hey Luci! Thanks so much.

I love signed books too! BTW, I sent your Monica McCarty surprise last week. Not sure how long it takes to get mail from the States, but hope you get it soon!

And I promise, once you have time to sit down and get into Breaking Point, you won't want to do anything else till you're finished. Enjoy!

Have a great week!

Christi said...

Kris, I can't imagine any book topping Marc's book. I have read some amazing books this year, but that one TOPS them all...OMG, it was so good! I bawled through so much of that book...OMG!! smiles...

I just finished reading WATER FOR ELEPHANTS and enjoyed it more than I expected. Without saying too much, it's a historical romance rich with setting and quirky characters. I love the plot twists!

Thanks Christy,
I will let you know as soon as the package arrives - I am thrilled and excited - I ´ve never won anything and - living overseas - didn´t dream of winning.

Hi Christi! Thanks so much! And I'm thrilled you're looking forward to the SWEET books. I'm impatient too!

On the I-Team series, Julian remains my favorite, with Zach a close second, Unlawful Contact was my favorite book, with Breaking Point a close second and Naked Edge is the one that moved me the most and had me sobbing. Great books bring out intense emotions. (:

So glad you liked your RETURN TO ME prize package! And thank you so much for your blog and the shout out for SWEET JUSTICE! So very appreciated!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Cheryl! Thanks for the recommend! I've not read Water for Elephants but it does sound like a great book. The movie trailer certainly looks wonderful.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week.

Christy Reece said...

My pleasure, Elke! Hope you enjoy!

Crystal said...

Okay lets try this again....

Hey everyone I hope you are all having a great Monday!!
Christy big congratulations on your well deserved good news!! I'm so happy for you. As for revisiting Ethan...***dreamy sigh***.... I revisit him nightly! lol Okay I'll be serious... it is every other night. Zach (and Marc) has to have a turn once in awhile. lol Okay I'm kidding.. kind of.
Anyway... I'm pulling myself out of fantasy land. This is what happens to a girl when her Nook dies! I feel like I have lost a limb or my best friend. I hadn't realized how much my Nook kept me entertained. lol Dusty made sure that my new one is on rush delivery. I've kindly informed him that this is a lesson learned as to why my beloved paperback books should always come along for our moves. It helps his sanity as much as it does my own. lol
I did however get a couple good reads in last week!
To Wed a Scandalous Spy by Celeste Bradly and a new to me author Julianne MacLean Captured by a Highlander. Both were very good books.
My little 4 year old cousin is having open heart surgery in the morning. This is his 3rd since he was born. So I'm going to be on pens and needles until I get the call that everything went well. If you all don't mind sending up a prayer for the doctors and nurses performing the surgery and for Justin and the family. I would appreciate it. I can't imagine being a mom and my baby having his heart reconstructed. Talk about stressful. I have been truly blessed with healthy kids!
Christy good luck with the deadline that is heading your way! I'm looking forward to talking all things Ethan soon! I hope everyone has a great week! Give your little ones an extra big hug tonight! :)

Christy, Congrats again!
Christi, Marc/ UC is SO good. A few people here have heard me say I kind of like that man and that book. ;)
Crystal, that is such a tough thing to go through. Will be keeping your family in my thoughts.
This week I read A Light at Winter's End and enjoyed it. Right now I am reading Roxanne St. Claire's Shiver of Fear and Hummingbird Lake by Emily March. They are both REALLY good so far.
Am planning - again - for a trip to Alabama soon, so will be continuing my Christy Reece/ Emily March/ Linda Howard reading marathon. :-)

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal! Thanks so much!

LOL Your dreams are quite busy and very pleasant, aren't they? I hope your Nook comes soon. Being without a book is the absolute worst, isn't it. However, you can always start stories of your own. You never know what that pen will do until you start. (:

Saying a prayer and sending good thoughts for your little cousin. I can't imagine the fear his parents must be going through.

Glad you're looking forward to the RUN TO ME aka all things Ethan discussion. And thanks so much for the good wishes on the deadline!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara! Thanks so much. And yay! I'm so excited that you're going to be able to come to the rescheduled HOD luncheon!

I have heard so many wonderful things about Emily March's books. I think I'm going to have to do the download thing pretty soon. Don't have time to get to a bookstore and these are so very tempting.

Have a great week!

Congrats on the kudos for Second Chance Christy! Great news.

Mary G said...

So nice Marliss Melton is getting discovered. I've read all her books & loved them.

I finally read Mackenzie's Mission by Linda Howard. All I can say is "smoking Joe"!! LOL. Sooo good.

Enjoying:
Rock Hard by Olivia Cunning
Hunt Her Down by Roxanne St. Claire

Christy Reece said...

Hey Mary! Thanks so much!

And yes oh yes to the MacKenzie's! Have you read Game of Chance yet?

Have a great week!

Mary G said...

Yes but up till now Zane from Pleasure was my fave. I only have Magic left to find.

oklanannie said...

Hi all! Just finished "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen and loved it! It is definitely a little quirky but a really enjoyable read.

Also started Cara Elliott's "Circle of Sin" series and am enjoying those books as well.

Congrats on the well-deserved honor for Cole and Keely's story!! You know I believe all those "LCR" books deserve highest kudos!!!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Anne! Based upon yours and Cheryl's recommendations, I just downloaded Water for Elephants! Can't read it until after deadline, but am looking forward to it.

And thanks so much for the kind words on SECOND CHANCE and the LCR books!

Have a great week!

Great news Christy.

I too finished Hush by Cherry Adair and such a great book and start to a new series.

Christy is the goodreads giveaway international or only for a few countries?

Christy Reece said...

Hey Saly! Yes, wasn't Hush fun? So much going on and such charming characters.

Regarding the GoodReads giveaway, I believe it's US, Canada and Great Britain.

But there will be chances to win in other places too. Will announce them here and on Facebook and Twitter. Stay tuned!

Have a great week!

Saly said...

It was fun I agree Christy. I loved Cady and her vest ;)

Sure I will keep an eye on facebook and twitter. :)

Christy Reece said...

LOL Her vest was one of the best parts. I'd love to have something like that, so much more convenient than a purse!

Regarding giveaways. I'll have a release day party here on my blog on August 30. Lots and lots of giveaways and chances to win! And am planning a special giveaway just for those who are subscribed to my newsletter, so be sure to sign up for that too!
