Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

How was your week and weekend? Do anything fun or exciting you want to share with us? Read anything so fabulous you want to shout it from the rooftops? If so, this is the place to be and you don't even have to climb to the roof to tell us.

Did you notice that we're now only 28 days away from the release of SWEET JUSTICE? Wow! Time has flown--well, actually it's moved at a snail's pace for many days, but the last few weeks have gone by much faster. Now they'll zoom like a rocket! I'm so anxious for you guys to read Honor and Seth's story. I adore this couple and absolutely despise the uber-creepy villain. Hope you will too!

Be sure to mark your calendars for the SWEET JUSTICE release day party on September 6. We'll start around ten in the morning and party until around six that evening. There will be lots of prizes. And remember, from September 6 until the release of SWEET REVENGE on October 4, I'll be having a daily giveaway. I've got stacks and stacks of books just waiting to be mailed to lucky winners.

I spent most of last week working on copy edits for SWEET REWARD and this week, I plan to do the same. Good thing I love these characters so much! Can't wait for you to meet them.

Thanks to all who commented on the RT cover. I think RT did a great job with it and the article. Yesterday I went to Barnes and Noble and bought a couple of extras copies to give away, so the first two people who comment with: "I want the RT magazine featuring the hot LCR covers" will win a copy!

No new recommends from me this week. I am reading a book but it's not quite what I expected and may not be a recommend. Will wait and see. However, please share your recommends so I can add to my ever growing list.

Oh and be sure to mark your calendars for the LAST CHANCE discussion which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 23. This will be the last LCR book discussion before SWEET JUSTICE releases. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on McKenna, Lucas and the oh so evil Damon.

Okay, that's it for me. I'm headed back to my writing den to spend some quality time with Jared and Mia. Hope everyone has a spectacular week! Now, tell us what great books we should be reading!

Hi Christy!
Looking forward to the SWEET books being out!!!

Sort of relaxing weekend. Lots of chores done, but had some down time too, with taking Friday off. Took my daughter to see ZooKeeper yesterday. Very cute if you like talking animals.

I read Chasing Fire, Nora Roberts this past week. I really enjoyed it!! I also read a really cute Blaze...Terms of Surrender, Leslie Kelly. I'm not a huge fan of category, but I liked the dialogue and mix-ups with the H&H.

Hi Christy! I accidentally posted the quote anonymous!

Hi Christy! I have nothing to recommend since I am still reading the Virgin River series which I've already recommended. Have a great Day with Mia and Jared!!

Hey Kris! Thank you for looking forward to the SWEET books. Not much longer!

Hubby and I talked about going to see Zoo Keeper since we're huge fans of King of Queens and love Kevin James. Wow, movies are so expensive these days, I feel like I need to do major research before going anymore. ):

Haven't read Chasing Fire or Terms of Surrender. Will definitely add them to the list!

Have a great week!

Hey Barb! Congrats! Email me at christy@christyreece.com and I'll mail you the RT magazine!

Have a great week!

Hey Christy!

WOW! The magazine is out already? I was going to stop by Borders one last time today so I will see if they have it. But my Borders is a Borders Express so it's really small and may not:( AND we don't have any other book stores within a 20 miles radius by me now.

I've been on a Historical Romance binge. I am LOVING them!

Let see, this weekend I finished SWEPT AWAY by Toni Blake (love her writing), LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON by Lisa Kleypas and FIGHTING FAIR by Anne Calhoun (a short story which was surprisingly good since I am not a fan of novellas). I started THE MADNESS OF LORD IAN MACKENZIE by Jennifer Ashley but I'm not feeling the connection with the characters. I also started BRANDED AS TROUBLE by Lorelei James. Such a variety of books!

I can not wait for your books Christy!

Hi Christy! Hi Everyone!

I had a good weekend. I spent a few hours on Saturday learning about and how to shoot a handgun, it was quite an experience.

I have a couple recommends this week...Waking the Dead by Kylie Brant and In the Air Tonight by Stephanie Tyler. I loved both of them! Kylie shocked me again with her villians and Stephanie's Shadow Force series just gets better and better in IMO.

Have a good week everyone!

Movies are really expensive! I think it's about $13.00, if not more, per person over here in New York. My kids want to see Smurfs and ZooKeeper...they are only seeing one though :)

Hi Christy,

Busy weekend getting ready for a big family picnic next weekend.
Have decided to gather all my LCR books and re-read them(for the third time!) to get in the "Zone" for release day. I can't wait.

Finished "Chasing Fire" and highly recommend it. Also read "Without Remorse" by Cindy Gerard and really liked it. Wished it was longer.

I am reading "The First Wife" by Tara Taylor Quinn. I am really enjoying it.

Have a great week everyone. Have fun with Mia and Jared, Christy.

Hi Everyone!

Rain in T-Town over the weekend which perked the pansies up once again. Now it's back to heat and humidity! Very anxious for fall this year!

I've been playing with the Kindle and reading some different stuff this past week. I read the first book in Teresa Reasor's Navy SEAL series "Breaking Free." It was really good and I would recommend it to anyone who likes the military romantic suspense genre. Also, read a romantic suspense by Carol Ericson, "Smokescreen" where LA homicide meets rock-n-roll up close and personal. Fun and quick entertainment. I really liked the characters in this one.

And I finally read "Virgil's" story in Brenda Novak's "Inside." (Many thanks to KARA C!!) WOW - dark, tense and very emotional. I liked it alot! I only wish Virgil could be renamed!!!

Nannie's off to Baby Gap and Gymboree to see about some pink/purple things for my favorite Princess and something for my little Super Hero, who starts kindergarten next week.

Have a good week!

I want the RT magazine featuring the hot LCR covers.

Yeah, I know I'm way late, but I DO like those hot LCR covers. LOL!

I'm reading Collateral Damage by JL Saint. So far, it is really, really good.
I've got tons to read, but it's time to get ready for school!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Anne,
I miss the days of Gymboree! We've moved on to Justice and Aeropostle and Abercrombie. Oy!!

I went and looked up your recommend, Smokescreen, so FYI to anyone... it is currently $.99 on Amazon. (yes, of course, I bought it!)

Kara C said...

Just saw your comment, Anne, so, you liked it, huh? Good ol Virgil. LOL!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Taryn! Let me know if you can't find the RT and I'll grab another copy from the B&N.

Wow, wonderful recommends! Thank you.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Alison! Great recommends. Don't you love it when you're surprised and shocked by the villain? I think that takes great talent to pull off and Kylie definitely has that in spades! And I'm looking forward to grabbing Stephanie's Shadow Force books. I haven't started on this new series yet but I'm eager to jump into them.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Taryn! $13? Oh. My. Gosh! And we were complaining about our $7 matinee prices!

Christy Reece said...

Morning, Ronlyn! Thanks for stopping by and saying "Hey!"

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Jane! Hope you enjoy your LCR reread! For the 3rd time? Awesome! LOL You'll definitely be in the 'LCR' zone come September 6!

Thanks so much for the recommends. Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Anne! Yay on the rain!!! Hope you get more.

Thanks for the recommends on the Kindle. And I am definitely going after Brenda Novak's new series. Love those dark, intense emotional books.

Enjoy shopping for the grand kiddies. Bet you're the best Gram ever!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara! Will send you the RT magazine with the hot LCR covers. (:

Thanks for the recommend. Is JL Saint a new author? Collateral Damage sounds interesting!

Have a great week!

Good morning everyone,
I only have a couple recommends this week. I finished The Untamed Bride by Stephanie Laurens, and Claimed by the Highlander by Julianne MacLean. Both historicals and both were pretty good.
Christy I can't wait for Sept 6th to get here! I am sure Seth and Honor are going to take NYT by storm. I can't wait to get it in my hands. Good luck with your edits hopefully they go by fast!! Have a great week everyone!

Good morning everyone. And HAPPY Monday. Today is a bitter SWEET day here in the Frost home. My baby, turns 14 today. I love him, and am proud of the young man he is becoming but sheesh, I want him to stay a baby forever!!!

I have a few recs this week. I read Steph Tyler's In The Air Tonight, and I really loved it. I think this is my favorite of the Shadow Force series so far!!

I also read the next in Susan Mallery's Fools Gold series, Only Mine. Dakota's story. Again, love this little town. Really good book, can't wait for the next of the triplets book.

Finally, I read Breaking Free by Teresa Reasor...she is a new to me author, and I LOVED this book. I can't wait for the next one. I would highly recommend to anyone that loves romantic suspense!!!

Have a great week everyone, we are off on Thursday to Vegas for a karate tournament, which means more travel time for reading :)

Read & enjoyed
Beg Me
Tempt Me

both by Shiloh Walker

Loving reading on my iPhone. Not liking not having a PC. Miss chatting with you all.

oklanannie said...

Mary G - I sympathize with you on the PC issue. I missed mine for about 6 months and am so happy to have my new one. Any chance you'll be back online soon?

Yes, KARA - I really enjoyed Virgil's story! The book was different enough from what I've been reading that I was captivated from beginning to ending.

Kris - I hope you enjoy "Smokescreen" as much as I did - it kept me entertained on a rainy Sunday. And I'm going to enjoy Gymboree and Baby Gap as long as I can. They grow up so fast! Nannie is having a hard time keeping up!!

Taryn - I hope you keep on reading "The Madness of Lord Ian McKenzie" -- I had trouble at first but it ended up being a very very good book. It got fantastic reviews and I believe won a highly coveted award! I've just loaded the next in that series but haven't read it yet.

Back to reading!

Hi Anne
Just bought a new PC yesterday, still to be set up. Looking forward to being back on-line.

Tara said...

Hi all! Wow, great recommends so far today!

Anne, I downloaded both you suggested to my Kindle. Kris, thanks for the $0.99 price check!

I am on book two in Stephanie Tylers series, Promises In The Dark, and loving this series...and the fact that I don't have to wait for the next book to come out as I am just now discovering the series.

Last week I read and enjoyed Breaking Silence by Linda Castillo. Not sure I enjoyed as much as her first two in the series, but still an amazing story and nice to see the characters progress.

I read State of Wonder by Ann Patchett. Not a romance, but an excellent read that I enjoyed and would recommend to all. About a woman asked by her company and widow of her co-worker to go to the jungle where drug research is taking place to get more information on how her co-worker died and the progress on the drug being created.

And again late to the party and up all weekend too late reading to finish Karen Rose's You Belong To Me. Wow! I have not read much by her up until now, but after finishing this, I need to explore her backlist. Hey Alison, I think you were on a Karen Rose kick for a bit, or anyone, any other suggestions on where to start?

Christy, can't wait for the release and excited about the contenst/countdown you have planned.

Have a great week everyone and thanks for all the great recommends!

Alison said...

Hi Tara! I was on a serious Karen Rose kick. You Belong to Me was my first book of hers. Since I like to read in order I went to her website and found book #1 Don't Tell and read them one right after the other, until I ran out of books.

I really enjoyed all of the books, but my faves were...Don't Tell, You Can't Hide, I'm Watching You, and Silent Scream.

Taryn @MySecretRomance said...

Christy- Yes, $13.00 and times that by 4 plus all the goodies I end up buying because of my little nuggets. It's an expensive movie! LOL I guess that's the price of living in New York. I remember the days it use to be $4.25, but that was when I lived in South Florida 10 years ago...

I went to Borders and it looks like a tornado hit that place. Is it really that hard to put a magazine back from where you got it? I don't understand what people do when they go in there. It looks like they would look at the magazines and then throw them back. It was a complete an utter disaster in that place! LOL But I did walk away with CHASING PERFECT by Susan Mallery. She keeps getting recommended to me. Then I went over to Target to see if they had the magazine and they didn't. I will try CVS next. I am determined to get that magazine! And then after I read it I will put it by my LCR books. :)

oklanannie- I will continue to read the book, I just don't feel the characters, you know what I mean? I hear great things about this series too. I didn't know it won an award, that's great!

I keep seeing Stephanie Tyler's name. I have some of her books but haven't read them yet. Maybe I will soon. But I don't think it's the Shadow ones you are all talking about.

krisgils33 said...

I read JL Saint's Collateral Damage and thought it was really good!

oklanannie said...

Kris/Kara - I just downloaded "Collateral Damage." Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

Taryn C - Stephanie Tyler writes great romantic suspense. You may have her "Hold" series. Those include: HARD TO HOLD, TOO HOT TO HOLD, and HOLD ON TIGHT.

The Shadow Force Series is a spinoff from the Hold series. It includes: LIE WITH ME, PROMISES IN THE DARK, IN THE AIR TONIGHT (which was just released and we've been discussing it), and in October she'll release another, NIGHT MOVES.

When you read them, let us know what you think.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal! Have you read the Stephanie Laurens's Cynster series? My favorites are Devil's Bride and A Secret Love. Give them a try if you haven't read them.

So glad you're looking forward to SWEET JUSTICE release. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that sales are good. (:

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Hope! Happy Birthday to your baby!

Wow, great recommends! Will definitely check out the Teresa Reasor book. Sounds really good.

Have a great time in Vegas!

Hey Mary G! I feel your pain on having no computer. Congrats on getting a new one.

Thanks for the recommends. Will definitely check these out. Have you seen the new romantic suspense series that Shiloh Walker is coming out with this fall? They look so good!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Tara! Discovering Karen Rose is a pleasure, isn't it? I loved them all but I'm Watching You and Count To Ten are my absolute favorites.

Thanks for the great recommends! Have a great week!

Hi Alison!

Thanks for the Karen Rose favorites, you too Christy. I checked out her website and am excited to start reading her backlist! Now I just need a week off from work and life for a reading vacation.
