Good Monday All!
Hope you had a great weekend, filled with some exciting reads you can't wait to tell us about. For a change, I have a couple myself!
Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to share some blog contest ideas with me here and by email. I received some excellent suggestions! It's going to take me a few weeks to go through all of them and choose the ones that will work best for me. As soon as I decide, I'll announce it here. Stay tuned!
Congratulations to Tara Tseng, who sent her suggestions via email. Tara, since I have your email address, I'll send you the $15 Amazon card that way.
Got lots to do this week. I'm finishing up some minor changes to CHANCES ARE before sending it to the formatter. Be warned: If you love the current cover, with the exotic dancer, be sure to grab your copy soon. I'll be changing the cover within the next few weeks. And next week, I'll share that sexy new cover with you. Here's the Amason link to order the book with the current cover: CHANCES ARE
NOTHING TO LOSE is coming along a little slower than I'd like, but it is coming. Whenever I start a new series, I dive in with all the excitement of a kid opening presents at Christmas. Around page 75, I tend to stall out and begin the struggle for words. The first book in a series sets the tone for the entire series, so not only do I need to write the story for the main characters, I need to determine the series theme. It's often slow going as I learn these things but it's well worth the time I take. RESCUE ME was like that, as was MIDNIGHT SECRETS. Usually after that first book is complete, subsequent stories come much faster.
I think you'll love the Grey Justice series which revolves around a small, secretive organization that seeks justice for victims when the law fails them. The leader, Grey Justice, is wealthy, mysterious, and seemingly cold-hearted. Of course as we get to know him, we learn there are hidden depths and lots of secrets. I like to think of him as a Noah McCall but with even more bite. :)
I still hope to finish NTL and get it out to you before the end of the year. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise (one of Aunt Gibby's favorite sayings) I can do that. And then it'll be back to work on RUNNING ON EMPTY, Sabrina and Declan's story. Oh how I love this couple together. Such a fabulous history to unravel!
After those two, I'll put on my Ella Grace hat again and get to work on Bri Wilde's story, MIDNIGHT SHADOWS, with the plan on releasing it middle 2014. Bri has already told me several of her secrets and her story is shaping up to be the most emotional of the three sisters. Stay tuned for more as next year progresses.
So that's my writing life in a nutshell. How blessed I am to be working on three separate series, all of which I love. I simply cannot wait to get these books out to you!
Now for the recommends. Last week I read Silent Run by Barbara Freethy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first time I'd tried one of her books but I plan on reading many more. Loved her writing!
Also, as many of you know, I am a huge Pamela Clare fan and have been eagerly awaiting her new book in her I-Team series, Striking Distance. It releases on November 5 and I already have it on pre-order. However, I was so excited to learn that she was releasing a prequel to the book called First Strike. It's now on sale and I downloaded it last night. I've heard that it's super steamy and I cannot wait to open my Kindle and get started. If you've never read Pamela Clare I encourage you to give her a try. For those of you who have, you know how fabulous she is. To help you out, here's the Kindle link: First Strike
Okay, that's it for me. Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Can't wait to see your great recommends. Happy Reading!

I had good luck in my reading last week. Finally. It seems i will read a good book and then be in a slump for a week or so, but I finally read a few back to back that I really enjoyed.
Recommends:
When Summer Comes and Home to Whiskey Creek by Brenda Novak- I actually read these out of order, I started with book 4 then read book 3. Haven't read book 1 or 2.
Carolina Home by Virginia Kantra, I really liked this book and will more than likely reading book 2 this week.
Also started Time For Love by Marie Force, book 9 of The McCarthys of Gansett Island.
Happy Reading
Hi Christy/All,
Crazy day, getting here late for me and to see I won, well, Christy, you made my day, thanks.
I can't wait to see what you have in store for us with the contest.
I am slowly getting back into my reading grove. This week my recommends are Obsession, The Proposition and the Possession by Jennifer Lyon. I am NOT a fan of 3 part books, but loved Sloane and the story.
Have a great week everyone!
Hi Christy and Everyone!
I love those bits and pieces about how you write your books, Christy - you sure have some balls to juggle with that many stories to tell. How do you keep track about all those different casts in your books - do you keep spreadsheets of all the details ?
My recommends for this week are Roxanne St.Claires Barefoot Bay series. I read all three books (Barefoot in the sand, barefoot in the rain, barefoot in the sun)
last week and enjoyed them very much. Tessas story comes out at the end of October and I broke my rule to buy only e-books and ordered the paperback because there was no information when it will be available on kindle and didn´t want to wait ad infinitum.
Happy reading Everyone and good luck in your writing cave, Christy!
Hi Christy! Hi Everyone!
I didn't get much reading done last week so I only have one rec today...Karen Rose's latest novella Broken Silence. I love her RS and it was a nice little something to tide me over until her next book releases in Feb.
Have a great week everyone!
Fall arrived in Oklahoma and along with it the flu bug. Spent most of last week in bed because I couldn't hold my head up. Icky icky stuff -- hope you guys can avoid it! And I even had the 4-strain flu shot, too!
Managed to read Karen Rose's novella, "Breaking Silence" which was a fab read as per usual with KR.
Congrats to my friend, Tara, for posting contest suggestions and winning the Amazon gift card!!
Happy Reading to everyone this week. I've got lots to catch up on and Pamela Clare's "First Strike" novella heads the list (Ummm, another novella -- is this some effect of the flu bug??).
What a Monday. blech!
So I guess I missed last week. Sorry about that. I did a re-read of Midnight Secrets and then jumped right into Midnight Lies and absolutely loved it!! Such a great addition to the series. Looking forward to Bri's story next year.
After that, it's been kind of downhill. I read a couple of duds. The only one I thought was good was Carly Phillips Perfect Fling. It's a continuation of the Serendipity series and they have all been sweet reads.
Wish me luck on some better reading choices this week!!
Well I did not get a much reading done this week but I did break down today and order one of the new Kindle HDs with 16 memory things. My original is almost of of room and my worst nightmare would be not being able to get anymore books.
The book I did read was Ruthless by Debra Webb which is number 6 in the Faces of Evil Series. I am totally in love with the series but I keep telling everyone to read the books in order because the go from one day to the next and have major spoilers. I am so excited that there are six more left in the series.
Hey all,I am not quite late on the left coast. I have had a crazy Monday. Lots going on in the Christy/Ella mind...I love it!
Couple of recommends from me. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of Pamela Clare's Striking Distance and holy cow, it is awesome.
Finally I read Karen Rose's newest novella, I love her.
Have a great week everyone.
Christy,
I love the Ella Grace Midnight series. I can't wait for the third one. And I am always ready for a Last Chance book. Thanks for the fun reads! Joan
I can't wait for new books from you, I love the way you tell a story and I love Romantic Suspense
Yikes. Running mega late today. Thank you all so much for the recommends last week. Hope you found a couple that you're looking forward to reading. I certainly did!
Special note to:
Kris, thank you. So happy you enjoyed MIDNIGHT LIES and you're looking forward to MIDNIGHT SHADOWS!
JMR, I'm so happy you're enjoying Ella Grace's series. Hope to have the 3rd out for you by mid 2014. So glad you're looking forward to more of the series and LCR books, too!
LS, thanks so much. I'm thrilled you enjoy my books. Nothing makes me smile more than to hear that. :)
