Recommend Monday!

Good Monday Everyone!

Hope you had a fabulous week and weekend and that you're ready to share some great recommendations with us.

I'm still in the midst of SWEET REVENGE revisions but hope to finish up within the next couple of weeks. Once that's done, it's back to work on SWEET JUSTICE, which means no reading for a while. And oh my goodness, there are so many great books to be read. I happened to be in Books A Million Saturday and was unable to resist some of them. One that I'm really looking forward to is a new romantic suspense by Cynthia Eden. The first book in the series is Deadly Fear and it looks so good! Though I resisted temptation to read it, it's now on my TBRASAPWDID list (To be read as soon as possible when deadline is done). (: Don't you just love acronyms!

Thanks for the congrats here and on Facebook for the fabulous news about Cosmo magazine running an excerpt of LAST CHANCE in their December issue. I am so thrilled about this! As soon as I see it on bookstands, I'll let you know!

Okay, that's it for me this time. Gotta head back to the land of Dylan and Jamie. Even as much as these two characters have frustrated and worried me, I adore them and can't wait to share their story with you.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Looking forward to seeing your recommendations!

Happy Monday Christy! And be sure to greet Dylan and Jamie for us. :-)

I read a couple SEP's "Star" series to get my football fix. Then I finished Allison Brennan's Cutting Edge, which has been sitting in my TBR pile for so long I'd forgotten about it. :-P It was fun stepping into it and catching up with some "old friends".
Now I've picked up Brenda Novak's "The Perfect Liar", which Alex is calling my Spiderman book. LOL.
Happy Monday!

Happy Monday everyone. Christy...Glad things are moving along for Dylan and Jamie.

I have a few recommends. This week I finished the 1st book in Brenda Novak's new series "White Heat". I really loved this book and am eagerly awaiting the second that comes out in Sept.

I also finished Lora Leigh's new Elite Ops book, Renegade. I really loved Nic and Mikayla's story. I really can't wait until she gives Jordan his own story.

Finally, I read Sharon Sala's "Blown Away". She is a new author to me and I have to say I really loved her.

I am in the middle of Susan Andersen's "Burning Up" and so far, I really love it.

Have a great week everyone....

The Cynthia Eden book looks great. Listen, if you need a break from Dylan this week, I'm doing my staycation and he's more than welcome to come over. I'm sure he'd look good standing by my pool.

Last week I read the Homecoming by Joann Ross, The Heat is On by Jill Shalvis, and Summer Brides (although I only read the Susan Mallery story because it is part of her Fools Gold series). All were really good. The Heat is On is a Blaze book, which was surprisingly cute.

Have a great week.

Hey Christy,
The land of Dylan and Jamie, huh? I really, REALLY want to visit that place. :) Cynthia Eden's book is up next on my must reads. I've held on to it since having it signed by her in Orlando. Life keeps getting in the way of my actually reading it, but no more! I read The Search by Nora Roberts this week. I haven't read many by her, but I really liked this book. The hero is not your typical romance hero. Maybe that's what I liked about him. He made me mad a time or two but overall, I loved him. I also read Montana Destiny, the 2nd book in RC Ryan's series. I reread Kate Brady's One Scream Away. Yes, I screamed at her in Orlando. LOL The book was just as great the second time around. Now to find her new book!

KK, how was the hero not your typical romance? I'm curious...

Hope, White Heat is in my TBR pile. Maybe I will get to it next!

Kara, I too like The Search! I loved Simon and Fiona. Their banter was fabulous. And I agree about liking Simon b/c he was different. And about the RC Ryan series...do you like it? I picked it up at the UBS on a whim but haven't gotten to it yet!

Christy, I read the Cynthia Eden and really liked it. I can't wait to hear what you think!

I have just started Veil of Night by Linda Howard. I am on page 58 and really liking it so far. Reminds me of "old" Linda Howard books like Mr. Perfect ::sigh::

I also read the new Kate Brady. It was good but I am not sure if it was great yet. I normally do a really quick first read so I need to do a 2nd read to really wrap my thoughts around it!

Hope everyone has a great week!

I have been behind on reading so some of the ones I want to read are older. I do want to read Brenda Novak's White Heat. This past week I read Speak No Evil by Allison Brennan, Dark of Night by Suzanne Brockmann and Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3. Not sure what this week will be. Lots of work to do, not as much time to read as I like.
Christy, glad you are getting down to the really good Jamie and Dylan story. Looking forward to all the SWEET books. Have a great week. Deb

Happy Monday everyone!
Well my dad and my grandma surprised me with a visit last week. They left yesterday so my sad heart is perking up a little today. lol

Last week I read Dark of the Moon by Karen Robards. I really like it! It had a turn in it that I wasn't expecting.
I read Burning Up by Susan Anderson I really liked it! I'm sure you will too Hope!
I also read Blown Away and Torn apart by Sharon Sala. I started the last one this morning and I can already tell that I will probably like it the best.

Christy good luck this week! I'll gladly take Dylan off your hands for awhile. I'm sure Jamie wouldn't be willing to share though lol!! Hope you have a great week and Dylan-the hand full- cooperates with you! :)

Crystal (cmac) - I think you are my twin separated at birth lol - we read the same books. I loved Blown Away, I bought the 2nd & 3rd in the series too, and will start it after I finish Burning Up.

Aly - I think you will enjoy White Heat, I really did, I am very much looking forward to the next in the series.

Had a quite weekend but today was my BIG day as i started a new job - well its with my family's Private Hospital Group which i have already worked at till 6 years ago. But this is a new position - marketing - even though its what i have my degree in. So far so good - hoping it all pans out for me.

This week I finished Leslie Parrish's Fade to Black and immediately ordered the following too. I really liked the book.

Then i read Jennifer Ashley's Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage. I enjoyed the book and it was a good four stars for me. It was nothing out of this world but was a good romance with a sigh-worthy hero. Looking forward to the third book.

I am now reading Jo Goodman's If His Kiss is Wicked. Its my second book by her.

This has been a slow reading month as i have been extremely busy and my TBR piles keep on growing. I am looking forward to Beverly BArton's Don't Cry at the moment.

Glad you had a SWEET weekend with Dylan Christy!

Happy motivated Monday to you Christy! I am happy to hear that Dylan and Jamie are riding along with you. Now all you have to do is sit back and let them do the driving...LOL

I finished reading Stephanie Tyler's Hard to Hold, Too Hot to Hold and I have a few more pages to go on Hold on Tight.

Thank you Hope for reminding me that I do not have Renegade by Lora Leigh and Aly for pointing out the same regarding Linda Howard's Veil of Night...it's off to B&N for me.

Tomorrow, I will have in my hands, Christine Feehan's Dark Peril!
Yes, life is good! LOL

Have a great week everyone!

Ronlyn, Simon (The Search) is 'gruff' I guess is a good word for him. He absolutely does not say sweet, kind words to his lady love, and he often makes decisions without talking to her. However, his decisions are made from his love her her, and the banter between the two characters is priceless. The fact that Fiona loves him and sees past the rough edges is what made the story so great for me.
Aly, I have read both RC Ryan books, and have liked them both. They are quick, fun reads.

thanks for the recommend on "The Search". Looks like it will be moving up in the TBR pile!!

Hi All
I've read quite a few books since I last commented but 2 that stand out are Can't Stand The Heat & On The Steamy Side by Louisa Edwards.
OMG, fabulously wonderful, every single word. So funny, sexy & endearing all at once. Thankfully, the third one is out tomorrow because I'm dying to read it.

Kara C said...

Mary,
I love Louisa Edwards' books! I am hoping to get my hands on the new one soon.

Ronlyn said...

gotcha KK. I may have to check it out. I read some of the amazing Ms. Roberts stuff, but not all.
Also adding Veil of Night based solely on the compairison with Mr. Perfect. (You know my kid's name, right? ;-) hehe)

Ronlyn, I so love SEP's Chicago Stars books. I try to read It Had To Be You at least once a year--my favorite! I have Allison's and Brenda's books but haven't read them yet. Sigh, someday soon, I hope. Have a great week!

Hey Hope! Thanks for the great recommendations. Looks like you had a successful reading week! I looked for Renegade on Saturday at the bookstore and couldn't find it, which was a surprise since they usually have LL everywhere. Will look again soon.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

LOL Kris, I might just send Dylan over to help you enjoy your staycation! And you're so right, I do believe the man would look wonderful by the pool!

Looks like you had a good reading week last week. Hope you enjoy your staycation and read lots of great books this week too!

Kara, the land of Dylan and Jamie is filled with pitfalls and danger and lots of steam. Beware!

I've heard very good things about The Search. I bought it for my mom for her b'day, so hopefully she'll let me read it someday.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Aly, I'll let you know as soon as I read Deadly Fear. May be a while, but will definitely let you know when I finish. I've heard great things about Veil of Night, that it has Linda's trademark humor in it. Sounds great and will look forward to that one too!

So you read quickly and then go back and read the book again? Very interesting!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Deb! Even with your busy week, looks like you had some great reads! So glad you're looking forward to the SWEET books. Believe me, I'm anxious to share them with everyone. Won't be long now!

Have a great week!

Hey Crystal! What a lovely surprise you had with your dad and grandmother visiting. Love those kinds of surprises!

Looks like you had a good week of reading as well. And I love those twists and turns in books that you never suspect. So fun!

Thanks for the offer to take Dylan off my hands for a while. That's so SWEET of you. But you're right, Jamie would definitely have some issues! (:

Happy Birthday today! Hope it's absolutely the best ever!

Christy Reece said...

Luci, congrats on the new job! Hope you enjoy it.

Even though you've had a slow month of reading, it looks like you've read some good ones. And a sigh-worthy hero? Always a good read!

Hope you enjoy Barton's new one. Heard good things about it.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Linda! I'm not sure letting Dylan or Jamie drive is the best thing to do. They keep heading in a direction they shouldn't! (:

Enjoy your bookstore trip. Looks like you have several SWEET reads ahead for you. Fun!

Have a great week!

Hey Mary! I've heard Louisa Edward's books are wonderful. Hope you enjoy the third one as well. My mom read the first one and really enjoyed it. Are the books connected or stand alones?

Have a great week!
