Recommend Monday

Good Monday All!

Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving here in the U.S. The older I get the more I realize that Thanksgiving should be a state of mind, not just a holiday, that it should be practiced 24/7 and I need to be grateful for every precious person and blessing in my life. I'm making a vow to remember that.

As you know, we've decided to move Recommend Monday over to my Facebook page beginning in 2014. I mentioned last week that I'd like to give this blog a great send-off, so hopefully you'll join me in doing that. More about that in a few minutes.

Two things I wanted to mention to you. Don't forget about the awesome giveaway that my home RWA chapter, Southern Magic, is having. A chance to win awesome books from some of our best and most prolific authors. Here's the link again: Southern Magic Giveaway

Also, I wanted to let you know that I will be signing books at the Books-A-Million at Brookwood Mall here in Birmingham on December 14, from 10:00 to 1:00. Signing with me is my friend, uber-talented author Jennifer Echols. If you're in the Birmingham area, I hope you'll stop by and see us. As always, there will be chocolate, too!

Now, let's talk about the blog send-off. Every year at Christmas, I usually have a giveaway but this year, I'd like to do something extra special.  For every week you comment on the blog by answering the question of the week, you'll be entered to win a fabulous gift box filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies including books, gift cards, and of course chocolate. Winner announced Tuesday, December 31.

Since I'm just now telling you about this, I won't give you a hard question today. Next week though, I want you to tell us some of your favorite fictional couples. You know, the ones that when you close their book, you have a smile on your face because you're so glad they found each other.

To enter today, all you have to do is tell us what great books you read last week that we should be reading too!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Hi All!!

I'm still in the middle of reading Tara Janzen's Steel Street series......and my God, I'm loving it!!! I'm currently reading book # 7, On the Loose.

These books have great storylines, hot Alpha males, smart heroines, great humor and sizzling sexy time!!! As I mentioned last week, this is an older series so if you haven't already read them, I highly recommend these books!

Have a great week everyone!!!

That happy, happy holiday time of the year has arrived . . . and along with it some cold temps and too many extra chores, far too many tempting goodies and treats, and absolutely no willpower on my part. I do love the holiday spirit though!

Just finished up Pamela Clare's Christmas novella, "Upon A Winter's Night." I loved it -- as I do all of PC's historical romances.

Also, I read "Strip Me Bare" by Marissa Carmel, a new-to-me-author. I've been in a bit of a book slump the past month and this book was recommended highly on Goodreads. I took the chance and it really paid off. It was one of those fun-to-read romances that you don't have to really think about or worry over -- it just met all my requirements for a good read and it ended with a perfect happily-ever-after epilogue!

I'm off to volunteer at the Book Fair being held at my g'kids elementary school. Should be fun!

I took advantage of the holiday and the fact that the kids (if you can call my first-year university students that) were off to read over 4 books. But my favourite that everyone must absolutely read: Pamela Clare's STRIKING DISTANCE (and FIRST STRIKE)

Hi All,
Happy December! Busy week with a house full of family, so not much time to read.

A bit of an echo, but Pamela Clare's Striking Distance, amazing!

Thanks for the tip on Frozen, Kris, we didn't get a chance to see it, but planning on it soon!

Have a great week, all!
