Good Monday All!

Happy belated Independence Day to America! How was your weekend? Mine was fabulous! Yesterday, I spent the entire day with my family and had such a good time. And, oh man, did I eat! Lots of barbeque, veggies and decadent desserts. Feeling a bit hung over this morning--hence the late blog. But oh, it was wonderful.

Have to admit I was celebrating a bit more than usual. SWEET REVENGE went to my editor on Thursday, July 1. Yay!!!!!! Whew! This one was a close one for me. Thankfully, the Quiet Man and my spirited heroine decided they were ready to share their love story with the world. What a relief! Now, to wait, with fingers crossed, that my editor loves it too!

And SWEET JUSTICE is really taking shape in my mind. The synopsis is almost done and I have to say, I'm so in love with my new hero, Seth Cavanaugh, that I've been sighing an awful lot lately. He made me fall in love with him and cry on the very first page. My heroine, Honor Stone, is such a good match for him. Both are strong, courageous and stubborn. I can't wait to see the massive fireworks that are going to explode between them very soon!

So what great books are you recommending this week? I'm reading two books at once! Amazing feat for a non-multi-tasker. I'm reading Marie Force's Fatal Affair and really enjoying it! This is a reunion romance and will be an on-going series with the main couple being the same for each book. Really looking forward to seeing what Marie's cooking up next for them. Also, I'm reading Monica McCarty's The Chief and am loving it! Has anyone read it yet?

What about you? What have you read? What are you reading? What do you think others should read?

Oh, and in between reading and writing, I'm also counting down the days to the RWA National Convention in Orlando. I leave on July 27 and am so looking forward to it. If you're in that area on Wednesday, July 28, the literacy signing would be a wonderful place to visit. About 500 authors converge for one major signing to benefit literacy. If you're able to make it, be sure to stop by my table and say hi!

Okay, that's it for me. Going to take a long walk and visit with Honor and Seth, then do a bit of reading.

For me?

Close your eyes and for a moment, follow me to a dark, demented place. Deadline is this massively huge entity breathing down my neck (Think Aliens) and I'm cowering in the corner with my laptop, typing furiously and stopping every few minutes to nervously look over my shoulder to see how close it is. Right now, I'm trying to pretend I don't see it and it doesn't see me. Soon I won't be able to pretend because those long, pointed teeth, dripping with urgency, will be at my neck and I'll... Oops! Sorry, what were we talking about?

Yes, it's almost here. Thursday, July 1, SWEET REVENGE will wing its way to my editor and agent and I'll be sitting on the edge of my chair for days or weeks, waiting to hear.

Meanwhile, that entity known as Deadline will be lurking in a dark corner, eyes gleaming, the slow drip, drip, drip from its long, pointed teeth increasing in speed, matching the rhythm of my heart. And then once again, it begins to lurk closer and then closer. Breath catches in my throat as I realize that it has set its beady, flashing eyes upon me and...

SWEET JUSTICE will be due!

I actually haven't watched any horror movies in a while, so the above may sound a bit tame, but believe me, the creature is real...Oh. So. Real. (cue horrible, deep, scary laughter).

Anyway, hope your weekend was fabulous and you'll tell us what wonderful books you're recommending. As for me, I'm headed back to that place where the entity lurks and the drip, drip, drip of urgency becomes one rush of roaring sound. Inevitable. Overwhelming. Final...

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fabulously fun? What about great reads? Anything to recommend?

As for me, I'm still in the midst of DD (Deadline Delirium), but I've had the CHANCE to read a little each day of Fatal Affair, Marie Force's new E-book that was released today by Carina Press. It's a reunion romance (which I love) and the first book in a new series (and you know I love series!). Needless to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

I'm eleven days from deadline! For the past week, I've been locked up in a hotel room with only my characters to keep me company. Fortunately I adore Dylan and Jamie, so it's been quite fun. I also love my dastardly, evil villain. What a way to spend a week!

If you've sent me emails or messages on Facebook and I've not responded, I'm so sorry, but I promise, I will get back with you soon! When I'm this close to deadline, I have tunnel vision to the max. Hopefully in eleven days, Jamie and Dylan will be happy with their happy ever after and I can return to the land of the sane. Of course, Honor Stone just popped up out of the blue in SWEET REVENGE, so I'm thinking she's going to want to get started on her HEA as soon as possible. So here I come, SWEET JUSTICE!

Finally Fabulous Friday

Hi Everyone!

Just dropping by to say I'm still here. My deadline is within days and I've locked myself up and won't let myself out until it's finished! Still have lots of adding, deleting, polishing and fixing to get done because I really really want to send this lovely in on time.

What can I tell you about SWEET REVENGE? Let's see, it involves a strong, silent man with a wry sense of humor, a strict code of honor and an intense need to protect. The story also involves a woman who has been through some of the most traumatic events anyone could experience and is hurting. However, she is also one of the strongest and most resilient heroines I've created and I love her. And I love this couple together. I hope you will too!

I'll be offline all weekend but want to remind you to stop in on Monday for your recommended reads. With summertime upon us, lots of people are looking for new books to devour, so be sure to stop by and suggest some of your favorites.

I'm seventeen days from deadline! So "Yikes!" and "Woohoo!" I'm not at the point of extreme euphoria and blind panic yet--which usually occurs within days of a deadline. However, soon hubby will run the other way when he sees me, gallons of coffee will be chugged down and pounds of chocolate will be consumed. My hair will stand on end and my eyes will develop a feral, insane glaze. Anyone venturing close to my office will hear random mutterings, shrieks of frustrations, an occasional sob along with bursts of hysterical laughter. Ah yes, good times are coming. (:

Dylan and Jamie have put me through the ringer, but I have to confess that I've done the same to them. However, on July 1, the moment I hit the send key and SWEET REVENGE is cyber-winging its way to my editor, it's my sincere hope that all will be forgotten and forgiven and we can all be friends again. Well, Jamie and Dylan will be more than friends, but you know what I mean.

In the last week or so, I've received such wonderful emails regarding LAST CHANCE. Thank you for that! And several people have emailed me telling me they just discovered my books and devoured all six Last Chance Rescue books in one week. Oh my! I'm thrilled that people who read this year's trilogy are going back to buy the first books in the Last Chance Rescue series. And I love, love, love that people want more Last Chance Rescue books! Dylan and Jamie's story is still the most requested one, but I've had several people ask about Honor, which of course will be SWEET JUSTICE. A few people have asked about Aidan Thorne too. You'll see more of him in SWEET REVENGE, but so far, he's not talking to me, so I'm not quite sure I'll have a story for him. We'll see!

But now, let's talk about you. What did you read last week you want the world to know about? I'm actually getting a bit of reading done each night before I head to dreamland. I was fortunate to get an early copy of Marie Force's new E-book, FATAL AFFAIR, that's being released on June 21 from Carina Press. Wow, it starts off with a bang and I'm loving it!

How was your weekend? What was the most fun thing you did? I know Lori Foster's reader event was this past weekend in Ohio and some of you went. Did you have a great time? I've heard from several people that it was fabulous!

My weekend was revision filled. SWEET REVENGE is due in three weeks and I had to do some adding, explaining, polishing and all the lovely things that go into revisions. This week, it will be even more intensive. Now I'll make sure my chapter breaks make sense, transitions from one scene to another are smooth and finish up certain scenes that were difficult to write. I'll have to give Dylan and Jamie credit. We started off roughly, but finished very nicely. Endings are sometimes a struggle for me. Occasionally I'll know exactly how the book will end, but other times I have no clue. With SWEET REVENGE, I had no idea how it would end until the very last laughing word. (Yes, there is laughter!) Dylan and Jamie really came through. I'm so proud of them!

BTW, if you've not had a CHANCE to read one or some of my books, I noticed that Amazon has the entire Last Chance Rescue series (all six books) on a 4 for 3 special. Way cool!

I am so anxious to finish SWEET REVENGE for several reasons, but one of them is because I have so many books I'm dying to read. Every week you guys recommend such fabulous sounding books. I've purchased many of them but haven't had a CHANCE to read anything new in quite a while. Since I can't recommend anything, I'll tell you the top ten books I'm going to dive into as soon as I get a CHANCE!

As I announced yesterday in my comments, I finished the first draft of SWEET REVENGE! Whew, what a relief! The Quiet Man finally came through. After you read their story, I hope you love Dylan and Jamie as much I do.

However, that doesn't mean it's finished. It's messy and needs major surgery in many areas. And since it's due July 1, I'm going to be mega busy. Completing the first draft is an accomplishment of a huge hurdle, but now the real work begins. (:

Achieving this milestone calls for a celebration though. So, for the first three people to comment and tell me which one of the six published Last Chance Rescue books you'd like to have, that book is yours! Only one book per winner!
