Recommend Monday

Good Monday All!

Was your weekend wonderful? Mine went by in a flash. I did a bit of everything including writing, answering interview questions for a few publications, Friday's RomCon blog and even got the CHANCE to watch a few episodes of Criminal Minds.

Speaking of blogs, I will be at RomCon on Friday talking about SECOND CHANCE and giving away two signed copies. I'll post the link on Friday; please come visit and weigh in about your favorite 'love conquering all' romances.

The Yahoo group geared up this past weekend with some interesting discussions including favorite LCR heros, stretching the boundaries of believability and forgiveness. Also had a couple of SWEET discussions!

Okay, let's talk about your good reads from last week. And yay, I have one! The Secret Pearl by Mary Balogh. It was originally written in the early 90's and was rereleased in 2005. Heartless and Silent Melody are still my favorite Balogh books, but I enjoyed it. So much so that it was 3:00 AM Saturday morning before I turned off the light and yes, I cried at the end. Surprise! (:

So what about you? What did you read you're dying to tell everyone about?

Oh, and in case I haven't mentioned it, SECOND CHANCE comes out in eight days!!!

Happy Monday All!

I actually got a lot of reading done this weekend! With the DH going out of town, he let me have some time to myself!

So I read...
Pamela Clare's Naked Edge, Louisa Edwards On the Steamy Side, Mary Margret Daughtridge's SEALed with a Ring, Kresley Cole's Pleausre of a Dark Prince and Kathleen O'Reilly 's Those SEXY O'Sullivan's Harlequin Blaze series - Shaken & Stirred, Sex, Straight Up and Nightcap.

I LOVED the Clare and Edwards, enjoyed the Cole and O'Sullivan's and could have skipped the Daughtridge. This the 3rd in her SEAL series and I really should just stop! I don't know if it is the way she writes or what but the books just don't seem to work for me!

Now since the DH is out of town and I don't have to spend time with him :) here is what I plan to read this week!

Sophie Littlefield's A Bad Day for Sorry, Joss Ware's Beyond the Night, Kay Hooper's Blood Ties, Cathie Linz's Mad, Bad and Blonde and David Baldacci's True Blue.

Not sure if I will be able to get them all done but that is the plan :)

Good Monday morning to ya'll!

The sun is finally shining. SWEET JUSTICE after so many cold, cloudy and dreary days! I can't wait to finish work at 1:00p and head home to read. I rounded up Pamela Clare's historicals at the UBS so I'm getting ready to start my PC reading fest!

Last week I read Louisa Edwards' "On the Steamy Side." And one other book that knocked my socks off -- but I'll tell you about it later! I'm still savoring the moments - each and every one! And I definitely feel a re-read coming on. Might be just the SWEET REWARD I need for being such a hard worker this morning.

Christy, I'm having problems working that third title SWEET REVENGE into my ramblings. I'm not giving up though!

Hey everyone Happy Monday!

I read Pamela Clare's Hard Evidence.... Wow gotta say I love Julian...sigh...!!! It was a great book. I have Naked Edge to read, but I am waiting on Unlawful Contact to get here first. I also reread Mercy by Julie Garwood. I like those Buchanan men! (and Noah Clayborne too!) I have a lot of reading planned this week, but who knows if I'll get it all done.:)

I need someone to come and rescue me from my kids today!!! Its early and already I am about pull my hair out lol! Have a great day everyone!!

Hey Sarah, I've heard good things about Sleep No More (great title). Have it on my TBBARS list. For anyone wondering, that's 'to be bought and read soon'. Don't you just love acronyms? (:

Enjoy your Piccoult book; just be sure you have a hankie ready.

You're right, SECOND CHANCE will be here in the blink of an eye. How SWEET is that?

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Oklanannie!

Enjoy Pamela's historicals. I've heard many people say they like them even better than her romantic suspense, which just seems incredible to me.

Thanks for the recommend on Louisa Edwards' On the Steamy Side. And look forward to discussing the other book that you read too. (:

There's SWEET REWARDS in every SWEET JUSTICE that occurs and that in itself is SWEET REVENGE.

*Snort* Yeah, I know. That was bad.

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal, another one for the Julian camp! You may change your mind when you meet Marc. Right, Kara?

Looks like you got in some great reading last week. Hope you get someone to RESCUE you soon. Maybe the young'uns will take a long, SWEET nap so you can get a CHANCE to read.

Okay, I'm stopping. Really.

Have a great week!

Hey Christy,
I'm jealous of these folks who got to read so much this past week - and so many great books too! I am anxious to read the new Louisa Edwards book, but don't have it yet. I guess that makes in on my TBRBFIHTFI list (to be read but first I have to find it). :-)
I AM reading the new Kristan Higgans book, The Next Best Thing, as well as Julie James' new one, Something About You. So far, they are very good.
Crystal, you are reading the GOLD STARS of books in my opinion. And, can I just add, just wait until you read Unlawful Contact. I predict you will LOVE it!
Oklanannie,
Keep up your fun attitude. It is definitely SWEET REVENGE against those around us who choose to be miserably unfun. LOL
Hey Christy,
Do you have a book coming out soon? I'm not sure you've mentioned it recently...

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara! Hope you get the CHANCE to do some reading soon.

And how SWEET of you to remember that I have a book coming out soon. Considering I haven't mentioned it in the last five minutes. (:

Have a great week!

Hello All,

I only got to read one book last week, which was Julie James' Something About You and I really enjoyed it. She has a suspense sub plot in the book, which was different than her other two books, but I liked that element of the story.

LauraD said...

I am so jealous of everyone having the CHANCE to read so much! I need to stop playing these computer games on Facebook! LOL

I started and am almost finished with a book by Iris Johansen..."Notorious". Pretty good book. There are others of hers I like better but this is good too.

robinky42 said...

I read Kerrelyn Sparks- The Vampire and the Virgin. Really good book. Now I am reading Jordan by Susan Kearney. Had a pretty good weekend. Got to go to the bookstore.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Jennifer! Julie James is on my list. I've been hearing such great things about her from you guys. And everything I've read online about her books sounds so good!

Thanks for the recommend. Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey LauraD! Is Notorious an older Iris Johansen book or one of her newer ones? Her category books were some of my absolute favorites. Wow, that woman can wring the emotions from you!

Thanks for the recommend. Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Robin! How wonderful that you went to the bookstore. Such a fabulous place to go!

I just got a call from my sister in Va. Begging me to tell her who the monster is across the table from Rosemont. I told her I wasn't telling and asked her who she thought it was. Then I laughed and told her to keep reading. She had it right but being her baby sister, I just couldn't pass up the chance to mess with her. She really likes the book. hehehehe....

Crystal (cmac) said...

lol JackieP

That is great! Gotta love being the baby sister. I have one that would have done the very same thing to me. :)

Mary G said...

Hi all
I finally read a little. I finished Naked Edge which was so magically amazing. I read Sealed With A Ring which I liked more than Aly did. It was rated HOT but it wasn't as HOT as the first 2.

I bought to add to my pile:
Something About You-Julie James
Mad, Bad & Blonde-Cathie Linz
Bound, Branded & Brazen-Jaci Burton

I found at a used book store - Mackenzie's Mountain - Linda Howard
I checked out the first page & it was already hot!! I had only read Mackenzie's Pleasure.

Started the Julie James book.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Mary! How exciting about McKenzie's Mountain. You'll love it! And once you finish that, find McKenzie's Mission, which is Joe's story (Wolf's son). And then, Game of Chance, which is Wolf and Mary's adopted son's story. (Not that I know that much about them or anything) (:

You've got some great reads lined up! Enjoy!

Jane said...

Whoops, I'm getting ahead of myself. I meant to say I read "No Chance" over the weekend.

Michelle said...

LOL! I vegged this weekend!
I can't do that this week.Busy week at work (sigh) Next week is Springbreak & Cole's book . :)

Christy Reece said...

LOL. Jane, I knew what you meant. And you're not the only one who gets them mixed up.

Very glad you enjoyed it, though.

Christy Reece said...

Spring Break and Cole Mathison. What a great combination, Michelle. (:

Kara C said...

Christy,
Read much Linda Howard? LOL Have to admit, I've read that entire series too, and loved it.
Mary,
Glad to hear you liked Sealed with a Ring. It's sitting in my closet, waiting for me to finish the Julie James' book, which is really good so far.
Anyone heard of Michelle Perry? She wrote several really good romantic suspense books, but hasn't written in a couple of years that I know of. Love her stuff!
Christy, a friend of mine has diagnosed herself with 'Gabe on the Brain' after reading first NO CHANCE and then Naked Edge, and loving them both. :)Nice affliction to have I guess.
Ok, I'm just putting off the inevitable. Must stop rambling and get to work. 'Night all.

Mary G said...

Hi Kara
I absolutely loved In Enemy Hands by Michelle Perry. Should I get the rest?

Kara C said...

Yay Mary! Someone else who's heard of her. I liked that book as well but Paint it Black is incredible. I'd highly recommend it to anyone! It's on my keeper shelf. If I didn't already have such a big stack of new books, I'd pull it out tonight. LOL I actually have another book of hers - Three Motives for Murder - that I haven't read yet. Aha! A plan for Spring Break. :)

Mary G said...

Good to know Kara. Cain & Abel sounds good too. On the run from an abusive husband & his twin finds her.

Christy Reece said...

LOL. Kara, Linda Howard books have been a not so secret addiction for me for a long time.

'Gabe on the Brain' Mmm. I think I've heard of this syndrome. Is that the one where you smile and sigh a lot? If so, I think I've got it!

Hope you got your work done. Have a great day!

Christy Reece said...

Mary and Kara, looks like Michelle Perry is another author we need to add to our TBR list! Will definitely look for her. Thanks!
