Recommend Monday!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fabulously fun you want to share? Hope you all stayed safe from the horrendous weather that hit several parts of the country. We had torrents of rain here and some wind, but thankfully that's all.

Tomorrow is the release of LAST CHANCE!!! Yay! I'm so glad to finally get McKenna and Lucas's story out to readers! I've already received some lovely, heartfelt emails...several have made me cry. LOL. Imagine that. Me...crying! Seriously, I am so very happy and humbled by the response I've received from readers about LAST CHANCE. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement.

If you had the CHANCE to read a copy of LAST CHANCE already and you enjoyed it, I'd appreciate it if you'd share the word with others. Would love to sell a gazillion, bazillion on release day. Okay, I don't think they printed a gazillion, bazillion of them, but you know what I mean. (:

Oh, and on Wednesday, April 28, I'm having a very special anniversary celebration here on my site. Anyone want to guess what anniversary I'm celebrating? Come by on Wednesday morning prepared to have some fun and win a fabulous anniversary prize!

After the celebration on Wednesday, I'm going off-line for several days. It's time to give some much-needed attention to SWEET REVENGE. Dylan Savage has promised to stay around a while and help me out. Since Dylan is a SWEET man of his word, I know I can depend on him. Right, Dylan?!

What about you? What's going on in your world? Did you have any great reads last week? What books did you devour that you want the world to know about?

Be sure to come back tomorrow, beginning at 10:00 AM (CST) for the release day party of LAST CHANCE. Lots of fabulous prizes to win!

Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday!

WOO HOO! for Dylan sticking around for awhile. I don't think I'd mind too terribly getting stuck with him. :-)
We had a wonderful, busy weekend filled with yard work, fixing a fence, and [another] birthday party. I did NOT want to come back to reality this morning, but so far so good.
I did a lot of reading this week, mostly thanks to some previous rec. Mondays. I started Gerard's first bodyguard book (with Nolan & Jillian) but quickly put that aside to read LAST CHANCE! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT. Then, back to Nolan. While reading I figured out why I was having trouble getting into the book a bit. I've had some experiences with a local amnesiac that has left a bitter taste in my mouth, so every time poor John Smith was mentioned my skin started to crawl. LOL. I did enjoy the book and was actually suprised by the "bad guy", which says something as I've typically figured it out before the big reveal.
Then I read Garwood's SIZZLE, which was a lovely, typical Garwood. Then back to Gerard and Plowboy's story, which was fun, and now I'm onto Manny's story. Have I mentioned that I dislike reading things out of order. It's driving me buggy knowing I've skipped books inbetween. :-P I need to tone done my type A tendancies. LOL
So, now, back to my regular weekly schedule of work & reading, swim lessons and reading, and dare I hope my baby is showing signs of potty training? He even dragged his toilet into the livingroom this morning. Cross your fingers that this is a great sign of things to come!

Hmm, it's already after 2am on Tuesday here in Australia, so I think I'm going to miss your party!

I can't wait to get my hands on this book - I preordered the whole trilogy as a Christmas present - a very late Christmas present!!

I'm actually a bit glad it's Monday. I needed a break from the busy, busy weekend. It was lots of fun though. The concert my son's band held for Special Olympics went great, even with the bad weather. Prom went off without a hitch, even if I didn't get any sleep. The positive side of no sleep is more reading time. I finished Linda Howard's Mackenzie's Mountain. I love that book. Can never read it too many times. I also read Louisa Edwards' Can't Stand the Heat, and the new Eric Spindler book called Blood Vines. Am now busy finishing up Death Angel, On the Steamy Side, and Ride the Fire.

Hey Ronlyn! Wow you did have a busy weekend. And sounds like last week was a great one for reading too. So happy you enjoyed LAST CHANCE!

I love to do rereads of my favorite books and authors. I really need to do some rereads of my favorite series, Gerard's, St. Claire's, Clare's and Rose's all come to mind. That might keep me busy for the entire year but what fabulous fun!

The image of your little boy dragging his toilet into the living room is so cute! Sounds like he's definitely trying to tell you that potty training time has come. (:

Have a great week, Ronlyn!

Ronlyn said...

Kara, Ride the Fire is my favorite of that series. Nicholas is wonderful.

Christy Reece said...

Sonya, ouch! Already 2:00 AM there! Yikes! The party will last most of the day, so maybe you can drop in for a short time.

Thank you so much for ordering my trilogy as a late Christmas present. That is so lovely of you. I hope you enjoy them all!

Great to hear from you! Hope you come back tomorrow...or I guess that would be Wednesday for you.

Have a wonderful week!

Hi all
I read Last Chance. It was beyond incredible & yummy. I just loved the slow evolution of the relationship & trust between Lucas & McKenna while it did not slow down the pace of the story which was perfect.

I loved:
As if she were a canvas and his mouth the paintbrush..WOW!...

Here's a review from Chapters Bookstore:
One of the best books I've read in years. I stayed up all night to finish it . The characters are so well developed and the storyline is great. But what made this book very special is the way that Lucas and Mackenna love each other. They are a perfect couple and this book will stay with you after you read
it.

How true!!

I'm already intrigued by Dylan LOL!

Kara C said...

Ronlyn,
I haven't gotten that far into RTF, but LOVE it! And I'm not much for historicals usually, although I am trying to give them a chance.
You're killing me with the whole out of sequence thing. I KNOW you will enjoy the books anyway, and it's really no big deal (boy, THAT was hard to type!), but there's just something about the out of sequence thing that sends me over. LOL Maybe I should look into medication, or at least a professional counselor.

Hey Kara, sounds like you have a fabulously busy weekend! Also sounds like you had some great reads. So agree about MacKenzie's Mountain. Love Wolf and Mary!

Enjoy your week and the wonderful reads your finishing up!

Monday morning errands and a quick stop at the UBS to pick up Judith James's "Broken Wing." Has anyone read this book and, if so, what did you think? Couldn't stop with just one so added Elizabeth Hoyt's "Legend of Four Soldiers" series.

Weekend fun included Hotshot soccer, a fantastic new pair of zebra printed flip-flops, a cookout on Sunday, and a great visit with an old and dear friend.

Christy, could that "special anniversary" be one that is near and dear to all "Last Chance Rescue" fans?? Could it be the FIRST ANNIVERSARY of the release date for the first book, RESCUE ME?

Looking forward to the next few days of celebration with all of you! Cheers to Christy!

Ronlyn said...

Kara...I think there's an opening.... ;-)

Christy Reece said...

Mary, thank you so much! I'm thrilled you loved LAST CHANCE. Thanks also for sharing that lovely review from Chapters. So SWEET!

LOL. I'm also intrigued by Dylan. However, I think the man is enjoying being intriguing just a little too much. It's time for the man to give it up...his secrets, that is. (:

Have a great week, Mary!

Hi Christy,

I spent Friday through Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm at university because I had a seminar. The seminar was interesting but we had for the first time this spring nice weather and sunshine here in Germany, so it was pure torture. LOL.

I re-read two books by Katherine Garbera this weekend. Body Heat and Sex with a stranger. I really liked both books.

Christy Reece said...

Oklanannie! What a busy weekend you had too. You need to send us picture of those wonderful flip-flops! They sound so pretty.

Yes, you guessed it! The first anniversary of the first LCR book is Wednesday. RESCUE ME was released on April 28, 2009. So hard to believe...so much has happened to the LCR crew in just one year. And so much more will happen in the coming year, believe me!

Look forward to partying with you tomorrow and Wednesday too! Thanks so much!

Ronlyn,
Better pencil me in. LOL

Oklanannie,
Haven't read those books, but then you know I'm something of an historical romance rookie.

Christy,
I looked at the second Mackenzie book. I know I've read them all a long time ago, but can't remember how well I liked this one - Mackenzie's Mission, I think? Glad you and Anne talked me into sticking with Death Angel. It definitely got interesting.

Good to know Danny
I have Body Heat but haven't read it yet.

Hi Christy,

Just wanted to say "thank you" again, received LAST CHANCE and will start it tonight. I can hardly wait for the work day to be over.

Happy writing!

Hello everyone!!
Wow Ronlyn it kinda sounds like we may be in for the same kind of week or two. My little one is starting to show signs of potty training also. I am ready! I'm sick of buying and changing diapers!! lol I also just got all of Cindy Gerard's Bodyguard series so I am going to start that this week. I am right there with you on reading out of order makes me CRAZY!! Have a good day and good luck with potty training!!

Hey Sonya Australia huh!! I want to come visit so bad!! Hopefully one of these days it'll happen.

I love those McKenzie men! I can reread them over and over!...Oh wait I do! lol

Mary G I agree the story was absolutely perfect!! That is a great review congrats Christy!

Ok anyway I didn't get much reading done last week. Over the weekend we went to Mount Rushmore. It was beautiful out we could not have asked for better weather. I've got a serious case of spring fever. I love winter, but I've decided I don't love it so much the last of April. I woke up to it snowing this morning...yuck! :)It was in the 70s last week. What happened?? lol

I did read one book a 3-n-1. Rescue Me by Cherry Adair, Lora Leigh, and Cindy Gerard. 3 short and sweet stories. Tomorrow I'll be out to grab my copy of Last Chance. Even though I won one I have to have one that I can reread several times. Have a great day everyone!!

Hello All,

I really haven't been reading as much as I wish with the semester winding down in graduate school (too many projects and papers to count) and my part time job, but I did get to sneak in Deidre Martin's Straight Up. It's not a hockey book, but its a fun contemporary set in a small town in Ireland. I quite enjoyed it, so that's my recommend for this week. I cannot wait for tomorrow and the release of Last Chance!!!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Danny!

I've heard really good things about Katherine Garbera's books. Need to add them to my list! Thanks for the recommends.

BTW, did you comment at RomCon last week? Didn't know if you were the same Danny.

Have a great week and hope the weather stays pretty for you!

Christy Reece said...

Kara, MacKenzie's Mission is great too. It's Joe's story. And then there's a short story for Zane and one for Maris. Then A Game of Chance, which is wonderful...an adoptive son of Wolf and Mary's.

I think MacKenzie's Mountain will always be in my heart as my very fav of the MacKenzies.

Glad you stuck with DA. I LOVED this book! LOL. As you know. (:

Christy Reece said...

Hey Scorpio! So glad you received your copy of LAST CHANCE. Hope you enjoy!

Have a great week!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal!

Mount Rushmore sounds like perfect weekend fun. Glad you had good weather for it, but oh my, snow again! Yikes!

Thank you for wanting to get another copy of LAST CHANCE for multiple reads. Hope you enjoy it each time. (:

Have a great week!

I read Rachel Gibson's "True Love and Other Disasters" over the weekend. I've enjoyed several of Rachel's books and will definitely check out her new release "Nothing But Trouble." Yay, "Last Chance" is arriving tomorrow. Congrats, Christy.

Hey Jane! Thanks!

And thanks for the recommend! I think Rachel Gibson is a favorite of several here. Sounds like another wonderful read.

Hope you can come back tomorrow for the release day party. Have a great week!

Hi all..Just got back from running errands and now my sister called to see if I could make Jello Shots for my other sister's bachlorette party...If anyone has a good idea of what to put them in I would love it...Last time I ran to a party store and got the special containers but there is not one close by and just not in the mood to drive 45 min to get them.

Now on to my reading..I just got home with the third book in Barbara Freethy's Angle's Bay series. Last week I finished Suddenly One Summer the first one of the series. It was an excellent romantic read with just a bit of thriller in it and it opened up the possibility of all kinds of stories for that series.

The book that has my "book thong" in it (meaning I am reading it) is Without Mercy by Lisa Jackson. I am over half done and so far it has been a really good book. (I have not yet figured out who the killer is making it all that more exciting).

Up next I think will be the CHANCE series because they all will be out tomorrow (does a happy dance).

See you all tomorrow and congrats Christy on the one year anniversery of the release of your first book.

Sarah: Per my daughter who has planned many bachelorette parties and 21st birthday parties:

You can just pour your mixture into a flat pan. Then you can either cut it into 2-inch squares, or get some fun shaped cookie cutters and serve up some hearts, moons, or stars to your guests! Let yourself get totally adventurous with these jello jiggler-style shots. Try lighting up the party with naughty adult themed jigglers and see what happens!

Have fun BUT stay safe!!

Hi Christy,

The weekend was nice in Florida although it did rain. Now I'm back home in New Orleans and the weather is near perfect.

Over the weekend I wrote a chapter, and hunted for places I could promote my new book, Not An Angel...Promotion is not an easy task for writers... All and all, it was a great weekend...

Congrats on your release tomorrow! I'll be first in line to buy it.

Hi oklanannie,

I am a big Elizabeth Hoyt fan. Really loved her Princes trilogy. The Leopard Prince was my favorite of that set.

Book 2, To Seduce A Sinner, of the Four Soldiers quartet is superb, imo...very much a character study. The Four Soldiers set is very "meaty" and I personally had some issues with portions but overall a great series. Hope you enjoy them.

Her Maiden Lane series sounds dark & smoldering. Can't wait! :-)

oklanannie said...

Scorpio M -- Thanks so much for the additional info on the Hoyt books. I'm just beginning the journey. I'll be watching for the new "Maiden Lane" trilogy you mentioned - I love the dark and gritty ones! And the "Princes" trilogy I'm trying to collect at my local UBS. Several people have said the same as you about "The Leopard Prince." Looks like I've got some reading to do!

Since I don't know when/if I will get here tomorrow, I have to say:

CONGRATS CHRISTY ON THE RELEASE OF LAST CHANCE!!!! Another absolutely fantabulous read!!!

OK now...Nothing much new or interesting has happened in my world. Well, except for starting a new job today! And it was great but I feel like I have completely lost touch with my virtual friends that kept me sane over the past 4 months of unemployment!

We spent this weekend getting used to having hubby back in the house. He was only gone for a week so I can only imagine how hard the transition will be later this summer when he is gone for 10 weeks! But it really is great to have him home! I came home to dinner made, purple tulips in my vases and a card that made my laugh hysterically.

Onto books...I love the Mackenzie Men. I could read those book until the pages fell out. Well, then I would just staple them together and keep reading.

I have started a Karen Rose reread marathon in order to get ready for her latest release. I have finished Don't Tell and Have You Seen Her?. I am hoping to start I'm Watching You this evening but fear that I am going to fall asleep before I finish 10 pages! LOL!

OK now that I have written a book, I am off to tuck the kids in bed.

Hey Sarah! Hope your jello shots turn out good. I love Oklanannie's idea of putting them into shapes. I've only ever seen them in tiny little cups but cute little figures would be fun!

Sounds like the Barbara Freethy series is a great one. Will have to move that up my list.

And yay, glad you can start my series now! Hope you enjoy!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the release day party. Have a great week!

Hi Crystal
I hope you enjoy Cindy's Bodyguard series. After that you'll want to read the BOI series. Re: The Mackenzies - I know I have Zane's book somewhere (it's a keeper) & I just found A Game Of Chance to add to Mackenzie's Mountain.

You came home to dinner made, tulips and a card? Oh my, Aly. What a wonderful man you have!

I love Karen Rose's books and can't wait for her new one. I'm Watching You is my absolute favorite. I adored Abe Reagan and the entire Reagan family.

Thanks for your kind words on LAST CHANCE. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Hope you have a CHANCE to stop in before the party is over tomorrow.

Have a great week!

Fell in love with Lisa Kleypas' "Blue Eyed Devil". Understand how it can be one of Kara's favorite books! Reading Pamela Clare's "Ride the Fire". Oh, did a reread on "Last Chance" to catch anything that I missed. We had a wet weekend but nothing bad. We needed the rain. See lots of recommends to add to my list. :)
