Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Saturday we had rain and I spent the day in the Birmingham Public Library with hundreds of avid readers and many awesome authors. What a lovely way to spend a rainy day. Sunday, though still a little chilly, is filled with sunshine.
You may wonder why I'm doing Recommend Monday on a Sunday. (I know there's a way to schedule blogs but I haven't had the chance to find out how yet) So here I am on Sunday saying hey for Monday. Ain't technology grand?
Last week was a very good week for Jake and Angela (well, other than the pain, tears, fear and general angst) but we're heading toward the happy ever after ending. Jake's already given me a hint of what's going to happen and it made me cry. Imagine that! :) However, we need some extra quiet time to wrap things up so for the next few days I'll be gone to a little hideaway, far away from that grand technology.
CHANCES ARE is now over 52,000 words and I still have a few scenes to write. When I return, I do plan to have a fully completed, albeit long, novella. What follows next? Revising, copy editing, and then yes, oh yes, oh yes, finally the release! Be sure to sign up for my newsletter because the minute this puppy is released, I'll send out a newsletter to let you know. It'll probably still be several weeks but it is coming!
I'm in the midst of reading Rita contest books so don't have any real recommendations for you. However, this morning, I thought of a question I'd like for you to answer. What are some of the most emotional books with a happy ending that you've ever read? You know the ones that you sobbed while reading but at the end, you were uplifted because of the HEA? And even days later, you can't stop thinking about the story or characters? Hmm, that may be a bit too specific but I'd love for you to give it a try.

I avoided reading "Cry No More" for a long time because I had heard how emotional the story was. I eventually picked it up and became one of my favorites. I'm recommending Cindy Gerard's "Killing Time."

Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught and To Love a Thief by Julie Anne Long both had me in tears more than once. Love when a book makes me cry :)
My recs this week are Lover Eternal, Lover Awakened, and Lover Revealed and I loved them all! I don't normally read paranormal stuff, but I'd heard about J. R. Wards Black Dagger Brotherhood series over and over, so over Christmas I read the first one, and I picked up the next three books this last week and I am totally hooked!

I LOL'ed at the "good week" for Jake/Angela filled with "pain, tears, fear..." Glad to hear we're getting closer!
It's pretty rare a book makes me cry and you'd think I'd remember which, but I'm kinda stumped right now. I also don't have any recommends because I haven't been able to read all that much lately.

Linda Howard wrote a number of books that were emotionally wrought.. Cry No More, Shades of Twlight and After the Night are the three I can think of. Sandra Brown also has one- Where there's Smoke.
Reading this week: Killing Time by Cindy Gerard, Jayne Ann Krentz Dream Eyes and oh yeah somtime this week a new author.. Ella Grace's Midnight Secrets =)
Hey Jane, Alison, Kris and Linda! Thanks so much for your recommendations last week and your emotional HEA reads. I think I've read them all with the exception of Julie Anne Long's To Love a Thief and I will definitely be looking to get that one.
