LCR Characters

Good Wednesday All!

As promised, we're going to talk about characters. One of the wonderful things about writing a series is introducing a character in one book and then having that character star in his or her own book. I've done this in each book and plan to continue until the series ends.

I so enjoy giving secondary characters their own book because knowing them for one or more books gives me an opportunity to learn who they really are. And that's another reason why I so enjoy having Noah return in each story. I love to see how he has evolved.

But now, let's focus on a character first mentioned in RETURN TO ME who will get his own book in the 2011 trilogy. You'll learn a little more about him in SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE. He really captured my attention in SECOND CHANCE and turned out so differently than I thought he would. And now, after writing the synopsis for his book, I know why. A very interesting man!

But who is he?

So, here's what I want you to do. Email me at christy@christyreece.com and tell me who you think the character is. I'll collect the correct answers and then at 4:00 pm CST, I'll pop back on and announce the character and the winner. The prize will be a signed copy of NO CHANCE. Still don't have my author copies yet, but as soon as I do, I'll send one to the winner.

Also, I'll have a new contest starting at 4:00, so in case you never read RETURN TO ME, stop in for another CHANCE to win!

Also, if you have questions about the upcoming trilogy, NO CHANCE, SECOND CHANCE and LAST CHANCE, post them here. I'll answer questions about characters you might see and just about anything as long as it doesn't give away major plot points.

Whew, that's a lot, so let's recap. Email me at christy@christyreece.com for who you think a character mentioned in RETURN TO ME will star in their own book in 2011. Don't post your answer here because it won't be counted. Come back at 4:00 for the correct answer and winner announcement and plan on entering another contest. Which, by the way, the prize will be a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble, so definitely worth the return trip! And, ask me anything you like about the 2010 trilogy and I'll answer what I can.

Okay, let's get those emails started and have some fun talking about the upcoming LCR trilogy.

I'm awaiting Old Man Winter's return to my hometown. Rain, sleet, ice & snow are on their way -- YUK! Thanks Goodness for good books and fireplaces!

Just a heads up for anyone interested, I read Robyn Carr's "Angel's Peak" yesterday. Truly superb! If you are looking for an uplifting, heartwarming, comfortable read, run and get a copy immediately. It charmed and captivated me from the first page to the last!

Now, I can't wait for the February and "No Chance". Although we've had a peek or two at Gabe, I'm looking forward to the rest of his story and what makes him the man he is. Can't overlook how interested I am in learning more about Skylar and her big "lie", as well.

Today will be a fun day, Christy!

Ok I don't know if I get to put in a vote but for some reason I want to say Kyle Macklin. Unless its a character mentioned more often. Have a great day!

Hey Ida, Oklanannie and CMAC, be sure to email me your guess. Don't post here. It won't count!

Oklanannie, I received your guess! And Jane, got yours too!

Any questions about seeing former LCR characters in the new trilogy? Let me know!

Who is Kyle Macklin? How could I miss this name? Are my gray hairs showing? Help!!!!

Hey Christy -

Thanks for the contest. Are we going to learn about Samara and Noah's baby in No Chance?

Christy Reece said...

Thanks everyone! Emails are coming in and some of them are right on target!

And to answer Oklanannie's question. Kyle Macklin is part of the Macklin group that Samara worked for in Birmingham. Remember he got knocked out when he was asking her for a date. Ouch! How's that for a rejection?

Christy Reece said...

Yes, you'll find out about the baby. I used a name I absolutely love and had wanted to use for a character but had to change it in revisions. So glad I got to use it for their little one!

Thanks, Christy! I think I'm confusing Brad Fleming and Kyle Macklin. Note to self: Must never never rely on my memory -- Must ALWAYS go to the books and double check!

I'm on my way to the bookcase to pull "Return to Me" ONCE AGAIN. I need to read Kyle's "knockout" scene and "un-confuse" my mind as to Brad Fleming.

Hey Christy,
You may have already answered this, but will all of our faves from the first trilogy be in this new one? I know Noah has been mentioned (will be so glad to 'see' him again), but what about the others? I love to 'catch up' with old friends. :)

Oklanannie, Brad Fleming was the man Samara had a date with when she was helping lure the predator. Remember Noah got a little upset over that?

Hey Kara! You'll see Noah in all three of them, of course.

In NO CHANCE, you'll get to know Cole better.

And in SECOND CHANCE, I have to admit, it's a bit of a reunion. Eden and Jordan, as well as Shea and Ethan will appear. And actually, both couples play pivotal roles in the storyline.

In LAST CHANCE, you'll see a lot of Noah and Samara.

Long answer to your question, but yes, you'll see all of them again and get to catch up on what they're doing. I think you'll be surprised by a few things. I know I was!

Eden and Jordan AND Shea and Ethan? Sigh... Thanks for the heads up. Will begin planning my mental health day off from work now. No way can the reading of that book get interrupted by, well, anything!
Hope everyone has a great day. Must get back to work.
Is anyone having trouble getting a comment on here? It may just be my old, old computer.
'Bye guys.

OOOkay! I have taken some deep breaths and am now back on track. Yes, I did indeed confuse Brad and Kyle - HOW, you say? Well, never mind that! I now have them untangled and feel so much better. And I got another quick peek at Noah in the process. And, quoting Miss Martha, "that's a good thing" - REALLY GOOD THING!

Can't wait to see what you named Noah and Samara's baby.

Less than two hours away. if you haven't sent in your character guess, be sure to do it before 4:00 pm CST!
