Recommend Monday

Hi everyone! Did you have a fabulous weekend? I think Spring has finally sprung here in the South. It's going up to 71 degrees today! Okay, admittedly it'll be in the 50's tomorrow, but I've decided to live in the moment. So, yay for Spring!

Last week was a catch-up week for me. I finished up my Rita contest reading and got my scores recorded. Also, I mailed out packages for contest winners. If you haven't received yours yet, it's coming! I should be able to get them all out this week. I gave away over 50 books, so it's taking a bit longer than normal to get everything finished.

This week I'm starting on the new book in the 2011 trilogy. I'm a bit tentative about announcing titles. The reason for my uncertainty is the confusion I experienced from this year's trilogy. At one point, NO CHANCE was supposed to be the last book and LAST CHANCE was supposed to be the first one. Not the book itself, just the title. However, after much discussion, it was decided that LAST CHANCE had to be the title of the last book since that was the last book in the trilogy. Not a big deal, but it became very confusing because the two books showed on several different websites with the wrong title for weeks. Thankfully that's over, but it was frustrating for a while.

However, even if the order of the new titles might change, I believe the names are set, so here they are:

SWEET REVENGE
SWEET JUSTICE
SWEET REWARD

What do you think?

I won't reveal characters yet until LAST CHANCE is out. You'll understand why once you read it. Promise!

Also, I've set up a Yahoo group for those who want to join. I'm doing this for readers who want to discuss the Last Chance Rescue books without being concerned they're revealing a spoiler. If you'd like to be a member, just send me your email address at christy@christyreece.com and I'll send you an invitation to join. Please be aware that there will be spoilers, so if you haven't read all the books that have been released so far, you might want to wait.

Oh and in case I haven't told you lately. SECOND CHANCE will be released March 23. Fifteen days from today! Yay! I do hope you enjoy Cole and Keeley's story. This book was difficult for me for many reasons. Once it's released, we can discuss why.

Whew! I think that's it for me today. Now, let's talk about your week last week. What did you read that you're dying to recommend to the group? What's up next for you to read?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday and all is right in your world!

Hey Robin! I've read Dee Davis. She's great! Kitty's House of Horrors with a werewolf named Kitty? You're right. Hilarious!

Thanks for the recommends. Hope you have a great week!

Hi Christy...

I can't wait to get my book. I stil can't find it around here but I did see it in a store two towns over (Burlington) I was on a mission to get Stella Cameron's new book so I had to go to K Mart there to find it. I have also noticed Jodi Picoultt's book is not on the shelves around here. They must be really far behind on new releases.

As for my book of the week I am reading Sleep No More by Susan Crandall. So far it is good. Started a bit slow but is getting better the farther you get in.

Up next for me is going to be Jodi Picoultt's new book I think. I am in the mood for a deep emotional roller coaster.

Have a good week all and happy reading!

WOO HOO Christy! What a busy/wonderful week you had!
My week last week was brutal. I don't have many of them thank goodness but have never been so happy for Friday to arrive. To help me through I did a couple rereads: Karen Marie Moning's "Kiss of the Highlander" "The Dark Highlander" and now "Spell of the Highlander". Something about those Keltars. Yummy.
Can I ad that I'm jealous of the 71 degree weather? It was 38 when I left my house this morning. *brrrr*

Good morning, Christy!

SWEET! Love the new titles, regardless of order. Of course, we may all be rolling our eyes with all the CHANCEs we'll have to use SWEET in our posts. Is it OK if I just pretend to have understood the title confusion? It's Monday you know. LAST,NO, third, first... I'll have to study on that later. LOL
I read NO CHANCE again this week. Couldn't help it, had to be done. Also read Naked Edge by Pamela Clare - highly recommended. I also read Linda Lael Miller's McKettrick's Luck, an older book I think, but nice. I am reading Jodi Picoult's new book House Rules. I'm very interested in how she handles the character who has Asperger's. Just started in though so I'll have to wait on a definite recommend next week. So far, so good though!
The weather here is gorgeous. Rumor has it that it may rain tomorrow, but we'll enjoy this sunshine while we can.

Hello,

I didn't get a chance to read any new books last week :-(. Anyway, I will be back next Monday with some suggestions, hopefully.

A little off topic here but have you gotten a chance to hear the cd by Susan Boyle-I dreamed a dream? Got tried of waiting for someone to hook up my new cd player and did it myself. Guess I did it right, no fire when I turned it on.

YAY!!! I just found 2 of your books at another store. :) Been reading Robyn Carr and Lora Leigh's Black Jack. Still have Pamela Clare's books that I got to start but I only found Reece, Marc and her new book Naked Edge. Still need to grab Jullian's?

Love the new titles and the Yahoo. Counting down to my man Cole's day. Will have to put all other books on hold until I get his read when March 23 hits!!!!! :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the titles! I can only hope that the good karma continues for your covers too!

Robin, I am jealous that you have read Dark Deceptions but happy to see that it was good! I love Dee's older stuff!

This week I only had the CHANCE to read Something About You by Julie James! I really enjoyed it and am so glad to see that Julie just keeps getting better and better with her books!

I keep trying to find a CHANCE to read Naked Edge but pesky things like job interviews, kids and a husband keep getting in the way! I am dying to read it especially after seeing what all of you thought of it!

Now I have to go and try to not burn the kitchen down! I can bake but man, I can't cook at all! LOL!

Kara C said...

Aly,
LOL. I'm presently trying to not burn the kitchen down as well.
I'm glad J James' book was good. It is in my 'on deck' pile (to be read hopefully this week).
Good luck with the job interviews, and the kids, and the husband...NE is worth it. Another sigh worthy Gabe!

I read Leslie Parrish's "Fade to Black." I read the series out of order.

Hi everyone,

This weekend I read Naked Edge - which I loved. Right now, I'm reading Broken by Shiloh Walker.

Aly, I keep hearing good things about Something About You. I have to get a copy.

And, by the way, I love the new titles.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Sarah, just returned from mailing out a bunch of books. Yours was one of them. (: Hope you enjoy!

You will definitely get an emotional roller coaster ride with Jodi Piccoult. She's a wonderful writer.

Hope you continue to enjoy Sleep No More. Have heard great things about Susan Crandall. And hope you like the Stella Cameron book. I heard her speak last year at a luncheon. What a delightful lady!

Thanks for the recommends!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Ronlyn! Hope your week is a thousand percent better than last week. Bad days can definitely wear one down, for sure. Karen Marie Moning sounds like a delightful way to overcome them though.

And though it was a busy running around crazy kind of day, the lovely weather did help tremendously. However, rain and cooler temps coming tomorrow. Sigh. All good things must come to an end.

Thanks for stopping by!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Kara, glad to hear you just had to read NO CHANCE again. And that you liked it even better. Can't hear that enough. (:

Haven't had a CHANCE to read Naked Edge yet. I'm hearing great things about it though. And I haven't read Linda Lael Miller's McKettrick's series but it's one of my mom's favorites.

Hope you enjoyed today's recess with the weather so lovely. (:

Just talked to my sister, hehe..she started reading Run To Me first because of the villian!!!! And so far she LOVES IT!!!!! I am silently wait for her to whine and ask me if there will be a Cole book. What are baby sisters for...they were made to torture their OLDER siblings every CHANCE they get.

(I had to add the older part in just incase she comes over here looking around like I suggested)

Christy Reece said...

Hey Crystal! Wow, I didn't realize Ice had a Gabe hero too. Man oh man, Gabe's having a good run these days. (:

Thanks for the recommend. And sounds like you are definitely well fixed for future good reads with the books you ordered. Enjoy!

Hey Mary! Glad you like the titles!

BTW, the copy of NO CHANCE that you won was mailed today. You should get it soon. Hope you enjoy!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Robin, I haven't heard the CD. The only time I've heard her was the competition she did and that was lovely. I bought it for my mom for Christmas and kept meaning to ask her to play it.

Did you enjoy it?

Christy Reece said...

Yay, Jackie! Glad you found the book somewhere. I went back to my Walmart today and it's still not there. Sigh...

Sounds like you're about ready to binge on Pamela Clare. But you definitely don't want to miss Julian. (:

Glad you like the titles and Yahoo group. And yes, clear your calendar for Cole. He'll be here before you know it!

Christy Reece said...

Hey Aly, glad you love the titles!

I've heard so many wonderful things about Julie James. She's on my list. Her new book sounds wonderful.

Hey Michelle, I'm thrilled you enjoyed NO CHANCE! Thanks so much for letting me know.

Rachel Vincent's Stray sounds really good. That's paranormal, right?

Glad you like the titles! Let me know if you want to be on the Yahoo loop!

Hey Alexandra! I have Broken on my TBR list. Heard great things about it.

Glad you like the new titles.

Thanks for the recommends!

Christy Reece said...

LOL. Mary, thanks for the update on the sales. Wish I could get you to travel in the US and give me an update here too. (:

Mary G said...

Do they not show quantities in stock at B & N and Borders?

Christy Reece said...

Hey Jackie, hope your sister is enjoying Donald Rosemount and all his shenanigans.

I'm the youngest of three so I totally agree. We're supposed to torture our older siblings. It's a requirement. (:

Christy Reece said...

Mary, probably, but I hate to ask. I ask that at one store several months ago and was told they had returned them. I so don't need to know that information, especially right now. (:

Hi Everyone!

Been out-of-pocket today babysitting a sick granddaughter! Ear infections and little ones aren't pretty. But I got to cuddle and rock my sweet Karoline and she is feeling better so all in all - it was a good day!

Christy - I love the SWEET new titles!! A new challenge is upon us all to come up with witty usages in our messages! Now my inquisitive nature will take over and I'll be fretting over who's stories matches up with what title!!! And how SOON we'll have them in our hands!!

I've read NO CHANCE again; read NAKED EDGE; and BROKEN. All were fantastic reads. Also, I read HelenKay Dimon's LEAVE ME BREATHLESS and Cathie Linz's MAD, BAD, AND BLONDE. Both were really easy, fun and sassy romantic contemps. After reading the first three, I needed some lighter easy reads and they fit the bill! Recommend them.

Can't wait for the Yahoo Group. Hearing everyone's comments and thoughts on all the LCR books is going to be so much fun!!

Mary G said...

I see. Chapters shows the quantities on-line for each store location. It's in real time meaning if they have 5 & I buy one the quantity changes immediately to 4.

Christy Reece said...

Hey Oklanannie! Glad your granddaughter is feeling better.

Wow, you definitely did some reading last week. So glad you enjoyed them, especially one in particular. (:

Thanks for the recommends!

We'll get the Yahoo group up and running some time this week. Looking forward to chatting with you guys.

Little late but here goes.

I've been reading some Linda Howard lately. I've read The Touch of Fire, A Game of Chance and The cutting Edge this week. I also just finished up Nalini Singh follow up to Angels Blood called Archangel's Kiss. You must read the first to understand the 2nd book. Very good. Archangel's Kiss is more complicated though. I am currently rereading Nora Roberts 2nd book in the Bride Quartet series then i'm thinking another Linda Howard book Up close and Dangerous. My fav or hers is still Mr perfect though. Oh and also read Nora Roberts Homeport. Loved it! Lots of reading lately.

Lisa

Christy Reece said...

Hey Lisa! Wow, you have definitely done some reading. Good for you!

Have you read Linda Howard's All the Queen's Men? That's one of my personal faves. Also, Dying to Please, Kiss Me While I Sleep, Kill and Tell and Cry No More are all wonderful too.

And her older category romances are great. My faves are: Sarah's Child, Duncan's Bride, Heartbreaker, Diamond Bay and Midnight Rainbow, and of course McKenzie's Mountain and McKenzie's Mission, which came before A Game of Chance.

LOL. Sorry, hard for me to stop listing favorite Linda Howard books. I have been so many.

Enjoy and thanks for all the recommends!

Kara C said...

Linda Howard? Loved her Mackenzie family series. And I read Cry No More after it was recommended here at one of our first Recommend Mondays. It was great. It's one of the few, but growing number of books, that made me cry. :)

Modokker said...

christy,

Ok i've read Heartbreaker last week. I've been picking up Linda Howard at all the used book stores i go to. A friend borrowed me Mr Perfect after she read it from the library and that's when i started looking for her books. I actually have about 4 at least on my TBR pile. I guess i've got alot more of her books to read then. lol

I seemed to slip off into rereading Nora roberts Dream series again. Then i'll get back to Linda Howard.

So many books so little time!

Lisa

Christy Reece said...

Lisa, you're right. So many wonderful books, so little time. But I'm oh so grateful for all those wonderful books.

I wish I was just discovering Linda Howard. One year, RWA was honoring her at the Rita awards. Several times throughout the program, the MC would read the first line from one of her books and I immediately recognized them and knew the title. LOL. Guess you could say I'm a definite fan. (:

Enjoy your reads!

See you tomorrow!
