Recommend Monday, Featuring Your 2010 Favorites!

Good Monday All!

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fabulously fun? Feel free to share your adventures here.

Since I'm about ten days behind, I played catch-up over the weekend. At my finest, I'm not a good shopper, but since time is of the essence, I hunkered down and got a lot done. Still not finished with everything, but I made progress and that's a huge relief for me.

It's hard to believe there's only eleven days left in 2010. What a great year it's been but I'm so looking forward to next year and all the possibilities. And those possibilities include more reading. There are so many exciting books coming next year from my favorite authors and future favorites, but I know I missed out on reading some good ones this year.

Since this is the last day of our contest and it's Recommend Monday also, I thought it'd be a great opportunity for you to list your 2010 favorite reads. They don't have to be published in 2010 but you read them this year. We'll see if we can get a list together so everyone can print it out and next time you're in a bookstore, you'll have your shopping list!

So, tell us your favorite reads for this year. There's no limit, so list all of them or as many as you like.

Tomorrow I'll announce the winner of the prize package, so be sure to stop by to see if you won!

Happy Monday Everyone!

My favorite part of Monday!!! My daughter had a sleepover Friday night and the house was so quiet it was disconcerting. Hubby and I got up early to go to the mall on Sat and finish the shopping. Sat night we had a babysitter and had a nice dinner out with some friends. We rarely do that. Sunday, I wasn't feeling well at all and the peeps left me at home to go out for breakfast and then Casey had a birthday party in the afternoon. I spent most of the day on the couch, but managed to make a roast chicken with homemade stuffing. It was a very yummy dinner (especially since i ate hardly anything all day).

Last week, I read Collateral Damage by JL Saint. A new author for me. This was an enjoyable read and is the first in a new series. The intrigue was good, the story was shared from multiple points-of-view, and the secondary characters were great! I’m hoping the secondary story line gets finished in its own book!!

I also read the first of Roxanne St. Claire’s Guardian Angelino series, Edge of Sight. I love all her stories, and this one is not to be missed. Good drama, high emotion, and the chemistry of the H&H was great.

My 2010 favorites – ALL the Christy Reece books. Man it is so gratifying to find a new author, tear through their books, and love every minute of it!! So many others too. Lorelei James Rough Riders series, Nora Roberts Bride Quartet series, Susan Mallery’s Fool’s Gold series, Shannon K. Butcher’s Sentinel Wars series. I could go on and on. It was a great year finding new authors, Jeanne Adams and Marie Force too, and the diversity of the things I read was fabulous and fun. The only drawback—there is never enough time to read!!!

Happy Monday All!!
I didn't get much reading done this weekend. My sister stayed with me and my husband had foot surgery on Friday so he needed some TLC. He's doing well...a little high on painkillers, but otherwise he's good. Watching lots of movies and loving having his food and drinks brought up to him :) I also finished most of my Christmas shopping. Thank goodness for online shopping! What did we do before!?!?!

I finished Into the Storm I loved the interaction between Mark and Lindsey! I started Fatal Affair and am loving it!

I read so many good books this year its hard to list them all! My favorites of 2010 are Lorelei James Rough Riders; Marie Force's Line of Scrimmage and Love at First Flight; Robyn Carr's VR series; Shannon Butcher's No Regrets, No Control and No Escape; Susan Brockmann's TS Series and as always Christy's books!!!

HI Christy! I'm so glad you are feeling better :) My entire family-all five of us-had a stomach virus last week but we're better too.

Last week I read the Edge of Sight of Sight by R. St. Clair and Tall, Dark and Fearless by Suzanne Brockmann. This was my first Brockmann and I am now hooked! I'm working on getting all of the Troubleshooters so I can read them in order. I recommend both.

My favorite books of 2010 are:

LCR Series
Roxanne St. Claire - Bullet Catchers series.
The Twilight Saga
Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard
Love you to Death by Shannon K. Butcher
Cry no More by Linda Howard
One Summer by Karen Robards.
French Twist by R. St. Claire

I'm sure there are more but these are the ones that stuck with me this year and I highly recommend each one!

Have a great day!

Good Morning! I'm so glad you're feeling better Christy, there is nothing worse than being sick.
My weekend was productive. Once I got through my Friday debacle (which is a whole other story) I was ready for whatever the weekend could throw at me. I did the Christmas cards and got most of them in the mail on Saturday, played with the kids and read quite a bit. It was so bitterly cold none of us wanted to step foot outside. Perfect day! Then yesterday I felt all sorts of industrious, so I headed out into the sunshine and did some yardwork while the kids ran laps around the house. I was trying to figure out what they were playing: cowboys and indians? cops & robbers? knights and dragons? Who the heck knows, but they were having a good time. I also managed to finish up the Christmas cards and cook quite a bit for this week since my UPS hubby is going to be working all sorts of crazy hours. Nothing better than leftovers!

Favorite reads for 2010?? Wow. I have to think: mostly because I can't remember when I read certain things. LOL. I managed to try out many new-to-me authors this year, which is always fun. I'll work on getting an actual list together.

We had a fabulous weekend around here! We've had the opportunity to help a family in need, and have learned SO much in the process. Like you, I must finish up my Christmas shopping, which I officially only started yesterday. ;)
I just KNOW I'm going to leave a book out that needs to be on my 2010 favorite list, but here goes...All your CHANCE books, of course, PC's Naked Edge, Karen Rose's Silent Scream, Simpy Irresistible by Jill Shalvis (how I wish she'd picked a title easier to spell. LOL), Jodi Thomas's Welcome to Harmony, and the first of Marie Force's Fatal series. I am VERY confident that some of these authors will also show up on my 2011 favorite list as well!
OK, when I think of more, I'll be back.

Happy Monday everyone. This weekend was a restful one for our house. The first weekend of Christmas break and since my hubby is a teacher, and I babysit for teachers, it was a much needed break. We are getting ready to leave (on Christmas) for the karate world championships, this year in Sacramento. We will be gone for a little over a week, so I will not make it to next weeks chat ::sigh::

This past week I read the TDD series by Suzanne Brockmann, Kris recommended them to me several times, so I gave in. I have really enjoyed them. They are quick reads, there are 2 stories in each book, but still have the same great writing you expect from Suzanne.

My favs of 2010:
CHANCE series by Christy
A-Tac series by Dee Davis
Shadow Force series by Stephanie Tyler
KGI series by Maya Banks
TS series by Suzanne Brockmann
Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis
Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force
Love at First Flight by Marie Force

Sheesh that is a long list...there may be others too, but goodness that is a lot of books lol.

On a little side note...Crystal's son is having a little minor dental surgery out of town today, and has to be put under, so please keep Kole and her family in your prayers :)

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone...

Sorry I am late. Off today and did more than I would have at work. It is hard to come up with my favorite book, but I did. Christy it is your very first book. I just found you this year so I have read all six this year. My favorite characters are Noah and McKenna, but since Noah started it all the first has to be it. Looking forward to 2011. And I will stick to my decision to read a historical. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hope, thank you so much for remembering Kole and checking up on him. Your so nice and thoughtful. I appreciate it!

Karen Robards:
Dark of the Moon, Green Eyes, and Tigers Eye.
Pamela Clare: Surrender and Untamed.
(THOSE ARE JUST THE ONES I LOVED) lol

Now the RS books
Christy I reread your books so often they just fall open and call my name. So you of course on top of the list.

Sorry I'm late! Had to try to finish up shopping yesterday. Bad part about being so behind in shopping is that inspiration and imagination gets trampled by desperation. So my gifts this year aren't the most inspired but they're there...so there. (:

Wow, some great lists here. Thank to those who included my books in your lists. I heart you!

Feel free to continue adding to your lists if you remember more books. In the next few weeks, I'll see if we can get a complete list together so I can post for you.

Suddenly remembered I forgot to list some of my favorite reads. I hate leaving some out but hate not sharing the most memorable ones. Here're the ones I know I loved:
Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare
Naked Edge by Pamela Clare
True Vision by Joyce Lamb
Fatal Affair by Marie Force

I know there are more but these are the ones that pop into my memory at this moment.

Announcement of prize winner will be at 3:00 PM (CST). Don't forget to drop by and see if you won!

What a crazy weekend! I am amazed that I was able to finish a book as busy as I was. (that is probably what kept me sane ha) I read a paranormal book for the "read outside our comfort zone" challenge. The book I called The Matchmakers by Jennifer Colgan. It was such a happy book. I could have used a bit more heat, but the book was still a really sweet true love story!

My fave list of 2010:

The LCR books (duh lol)
Colters Legacy books by Maya Banks
Take Me by Bella Andre
The Darkest Hour Maya Banks
To The Edge by Cindy Gerard
and the newest one The Matchmaker by Jennifer Colgan

Well wishes to everyone on the start to the week!
