Hi Everyone!
Happy New Year's Eve! Are you ready for a new year? I definitely am. So many possibilities in a fresh new year, don't you think? And I cannot wait for you to read the books I'm planning for 2014! :)
So I reviewed all the fabulous recommendations over the last month since we started this contest and am floored by all the great books being recommended. We had 41 unique commenters, (with lots of repeats) meaning at least 41 books were recommended but as always you guys outdid yourselves and recommended many more. Since we've had this blog, there have been thousands of books recommended. What a great service you've provided readers! And I know the authors sincerely appreciate you recommending their books to others. I believe word of mouth is still the best marketing tool for authors. I sincerely hope you will continue this great tradition of Recommend Monday over on my Facebook page. Christy's Facebook page
As we close out this blog and another year comes to a close, I wanted to tell you again how very important you are to me and thank you once again for reading my books and recommending them to others. I have loved getting to know you. I wish you health and happiness for the new year. May God bless each of you with your heart's desire.
And now...
Announcing the winner of the Recommend Monday Send-off prize:
Julie Johnson!
Congrats, Julie! Please email me at christy@christyreece.com to discuss delivery of your prize.
See you all next year! And if you're partying or traveling tonight, stay safe!

Recommend Monday, Happy New Year, and Goodbye Recommend Monday
Good Monday Everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. Mine was rushed, crazed, frenetic, and absolutely perfect.
As you know this is the last Recommend Monday on this blog. Next week we'll be posting on my Facebook author page. Since I have about 7500 followers over there, it's my hope we'll have lots more recommendations and chatter about all the books out there that people are loving.
Thank you to everyone who has recommended a book here. I and countless others have found some wonderful reading recommendations here. You've helped us discover new authors, go to new worlds, and meet many exciting people. Please come over to my Facebook page and continue the good work. :) Christy Reece Facebook page
I'll be updating my website within the next few weeks, so be sure to come back and check it out. Will be posting the fabulous cover for NOTHING TO LOSE, along with a back cover blurb and an excerpt. I can't wait for you to meet the fascinating people of the Grey Justice organization!
And soon we'll be chatting about RUNNING ON EMPTY and the new addition to the Last Chance Rescue organization. I think you're going to flip out (in a good way) when you see what's in store for them.
Since this is our last Recommend Monday and the last day you'll be able to comment to enter the giveaway for tomorrow, let's do what we created Recommend Monday for. Tell us what great books you read last week. As for me, I'm in the middle of my first Lee Child book, The Killing Floor, and thoroughly enjoying it.
How about you?
Be sure to check back tomorrow--December 31. I'll announce the winner of the giveaway. It could be you!
Have a wonderful day all!

Happy Monday Everyone!
Can you believe Christmas is almost here. Seems like only yesterday I was telling myself it was time to start shopping because Christmas would be here before I knew it. Oh wait...that was yesterday! Okay, I'm not that bad but almost. I'm headed out in a few minutes to shop till I'm finished or I drop, whichever comes first.
We're also nearing the end of the year and this blog. Next Monday will be the last one. I hope you've enjoyed Recommend Monday as much as I have. And I really hope that you continue to share with us your favorite reads over on my Facebook page. Should be easier for everyone there.
With that thought, what great books did you read last week?
And to enter the contest for the fab prize of books, gift cards and surprises, what books are you looking forward to reading in 2014? One comment will get you into the drawing but feel free to list as many as you like.
If you're traveling or you're out and about this week, please be safe. Wishing you all a happy and healthy Christmas. Enjoy your time with your family and friends and hug your loved ones tight. And remember the reason for the season.
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend filled with great reads. Can't wait to hear about them.
I finally made it to the halfway point on NOTHING TO LOSE. Yay! Even though I wanted to release the book by year's end, I'm glad I gave myself more time. This book is not only turning into one of my favorites but I'm loving the series idea and where its headed. So, hopefully you won't be too disappointed in the delay. I do plan to share an excerpt on my Facebook page soon. As soon as I have it up, I'll let you know so you can pop over there. Early next year, I'll post the beautiful cover for NTL, which was created by the awesome cover artist, Tricia Schmidt of PickyMe Designs. As you'll remember, she also did the fabulous new cover for CHANCES ARE.
No new reads for me this week however I'm planning on taking a few days off between Christmas and New Years and hope to devour as many books as I can. What do you have to recommend?
BTW, I'm doing a 12 days of book giveaways on Facebook, leading up to Christmas Day. I've already posted winners for the first 3 days but there's plenty of days left. All you have to do to enter is comment on the post on my Facebook page. Easy peasy! Today's prize is the 4th book in the LCR series, NO CHANCE. So come on over!
And don't forget to enter the giveaway of a box of books and other goodies that I'll be giving away on 12/31, tell us some of your favorite reads this year. You can give 1 or a 100. Doesn't matter but you have to name at least one favorite read to enter.
Three of my faves for the year are: Pamela Clare's Striking Distance, Liliana Hart's Kill Shot and Rachel Grant's Body of Evidence. All fabulous reads!
Next week's entry will be to tell us what book(s) you're looking forward to reading in 2014.
Have a great week everyone! And if you're out shopping, please be careful!

Good Monday All! Hope you had a good weekend. Sorry I'm late today. The weather and my sinuses aren't getting along these days. And my medicine makes me loopy and sleepy.
What's the weather like in your area? We've had massive rainfall and thunderstorms with cool temps but I know lots of folks are dealing with much worse. Be careful out there!
Did you read anything great last week? Can't wait to hear about it. And don't forget, to enter the December 31 giveaway for a fabulous gift box full of books, gift cards and other prizes, you need to tell us some couples that you were thrilled that they got their happy ever after. For me, I've realized they're also some of my favorite books. To name a few: Ian and Elizabeth from Judith McNaught's Almost Heaven; Mary and Wolf from Linda Howard's Mckenzie's Mountain; Madelyn and Duncan from Julie Garwood's Honor's Splendour. I literally sighed with happiness when I closed those books.
What about you? What couples were you thrilled to see get their well deserved happy ever after? You can name one or a hundred. No limit. But you must name one to enter the contest.
Don't forget, if you're in the Birmingham area, Jennifer Echols and I will be signing books at the Books-A-Million at Brookwood Village Mall this Saturday from 10:00 - 1:00. Would love to see you there if you can make it.
Oh, I don't think I've told you about this awesome contest from Give Me Books. Lots and lots of great books to be had, including CHANCES ARE, and my two Ella Grace titles, MIDNIGHT SECRETS and MIDNIGHT LIES. Here's the link: Give Me Books: Tribute to Men in Uniform
Okay, that's it for me. Kennedy and Nick have found themselves in a bind and are looking to me to help them out.
Next Recommend Monday, let's name three of our favorite reads from this year.

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving here in the U.S. The older I get the more I realize that Thanksgiving should be a state of mind, not just a holiday, that it should be practiced 24/7 and I need to be grateful for every precious person and blessing in my life. I'm making a vow to remember that.
As you know, we've decided to move Recommend Monday over to my Facebook page beginning in 2014. I mentioned last week that I'd like to give this blog a great send-off, so hopefully you'll join me in doing that. More about that in a few minutes.
Two things I wanted to mention to you. Don't forget about the awesome giveaway that my home RWA chapter, Southern Magic, is having. A chance to win awesome books from some of our best and most prolific authors. Here's the link again: Southern Magic Giveaway
Also, I wanted to let you know that I will be signing books at the Books-A-Million at Brookwood Mall here in Birmingham on December 14, from 10:00 to 1:00. Signing with me is my friend, uber-talented author Jennifer Echols. If you're in the Birmingham area, I hope you'll stop by and see us. As always, there will be chocolate, too!
Now, let's talk about the blog send-off. Every year at Christmas, I usually have a giveaway but this year, I'd like to do something extra special. For every week you comment on the blog by answering the question of the week, you'll be entered to win a fabulous gift box filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies including books, gift cards, and of course chocolate. Winner announced Tuesday, December 31.
Since I'm just now telling you about this, I won't give you a hard question today. Next week though, I want you to tell us some of your favorite fictional couples. You know, the ones that when you close their book, you have a smile on your face because you're so glad they found each other.
To enter today, all you have to do is tell us what great books you read last week that we should be reading too!

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a super weekend. Hard to believe that November is almost over. I simply cannot fathom a year passing by faster than 2013, at least for me. Has it been that way for you?
Thursday, November 28 will be Thanksgiving here in America. This particular holiday is one of my favorites. There are no expectations other than being with family and friends, enjoying a great meal and being grateful for all my blessings. Oh and football. Let's not forget the football! As you might imagine, we are football crazy here in Bama and it's never more apparent than the weekend after Thanksgiving when most of the state will settle down in front of their televisions to watch the Iron Bowl, which is the game between Alabama and Auburn. That's the day when family members don't speak to each other if they root for the opposing side. Yes we can get silly but we are serious about our favorite team. And that being said, Roll Tide Roll! :)
Last week I spent lots of time rebuilding and reworking NOTHING TO LOSE. Even though this book is taking me much longer than I anticipated, I am loving the story and characters. Since it's a new series, I'm taking extra time. The first book in a series sets the theme for all future books. I do hope to get the book out early 2013. I want to make this the very best book I can and I want you to love it. Thank you guys for your patience!
Thanks to everyone who weighed in on Recommend Monday here or via email. For those who sent emails, I'll get back to you soon. Promise! It seems that everyone who gave their opinion was in favor of moving it to my Facebook page. Let's finish out the year here on the blog and plan to make the move to Facebook the first Monday in 2014.
I'd love to give the Recommend Monday blog a nice send-off, so you know what that means. Major giveaway for the month of December! Be sure to come back next Monday for details.
And speaking of giveaways. My RWA home chapter, Southern Magic, is having a fabulous giveaway.
And FYI, I'm giving away signed copies of CHANCES ARE and Ella Grace's MIDNIGHT SECRETS and MIDNIGHT LIES.
Okay, that's it for me. Before I send the shout-out for your great reads of last week, let me get a little personal and tell you how grateful I am to you. I know there are lots of fabulous authors out there, thousands of books, and your time is limited. Having you as one of my readers means the world to me. I thank you most sincerely for reading my books and telling others about them!
Now, let's talk books. What did you read last week? Any books you're looking forward to releasing soon?
Have a wonderful week and a blessed Thanksgiving. Hugs to all!

Recommend Monday
Good Morning All!
Hope you had a great weekend. The weather is lovely here, beautiful warm days and deliciously cool nights. Just right for cuddling with your honey and/or fur-kids or snuggling under a blanket with a great book.
Last week I went away to spend some alone time with Nick and Kennedy. I had to cut about 40 pages (hope to use most of them later) but the story wasn't headed in the right direction for the characters and I was stumped. Thankfully the isolation gave all three of us a chance to get it right. Now that I'm on the correct path, I'm anticipating a monumental word count from now on. Yay!
Though I did get a lot accomplished last week, I also read a phenomenal book. Pamela Clare's Striking Distance was, in my opinion, one of her best. It will definitely make my top ten list of favorites this year. I am in awe of Pamela's amazing talent!
The new cover and slightly higher price for CHANCES ARE will be coming up in the next few weeks. If you haven't had the chance to get it yet, be sure to snag it at 2.99 before it's too late!
Once I've finished NOTHING TO LOSE, I will be heading back to LCR land for RUNNING ON EMPTY, which is turning into my most emotional and exciting LCR story yet. Can't wait to get back to Noah and the gang!
In between writing binges, I'm going to be giving lots of thought to making some changes to my website, especially my blog. This may include the dissolution of Recommend Monday, either altogether or possibly moving it over to my Facebook author page. Not sure yet. Other than a few faithful (who know who you are and how much I appreciate you!) our recommends have really dwindled over the last year. Though the blog still gets lots of hits, I'm wondering if a different venue might increase the activity. Let me know your thoughts on this, here or by email.
Okay, that's it for me. Hope everyone has a fabulously productive week! And now, tell us what great books you read last week!
PS: The following is from Boney the Cat who insisted on adding her two cents worth by walking across my keyboard just now: loooooooo444
As you can see, she's a cat of few words and lets her good looks speak for her. :)

Recommend Monday (on a Sunday)
Hey Everybody!
I'm out of town this week so I'm posting early. And since Mr. Reece is standing by the door, waiting for me to finish, I'd better make this quick, too. Got some major writing and revisions to take care of, so I'm headed into isolation. Fingers crossed I can get lots accomplished!
As for recommends--I've just started Pamela Clare's First Strike, the prequel to Striking Distance. I knew the minute I finished I'd want to dive into Striking Distance. Now that I have both on my Kindle, I can! I'm hearing marvelous things about this book, which is no surprise as Pamela is such a fabulous storyteller.
Okay, that's it for me. Have a safe, productive week. Now tell us what great books you read last week!
And remember, Monday, November 11, is Veterans Day. Hope you'll take a few minutes and remember the brave men and women who have given so much to ensure our freedom. May God bless them all!

Good Monday All!
Hope you had an enjoyable and restful weekend. Is everyone having a lovely fall? Our trees finally turned just a few days ago and they're gorgeous. How I love this time of year!
My weekend was fantastic. I attended the Southern Magic Readers Luncheon here in Birmingham and had the best time. Spending the day with readers and authors is just about the best, most fun thing to do in the whole world. The day involved lots of laughter, fabulous prizes, inspiring words of wisdom, and then more laughter. And I did something I'd never done before--I stood before approximately 200 people and shared my writing process, which included photos. Uh oh, my secret is out. Chocolate is involved in every step of my process. Surprise! :)
The keynote speaker was Jeaniene Frost, who was so delightful and gracious. And Tavia Gilbert, who narrates all of Jeaniene's books, gave several readings. Just wow! The combination of Jeaniene's brilliant words and Tavia's fabulous voice was pure perfection.
Also, it was so great to see the wonderful Barbara Vey from Publishers Weekly. The always fun Sara and Gwen Reyes from Fresh Fiction were there, too.
My mom and aunt attended the luncheon, too, which is always a treat for me. For the first time, my hubby attended. And to make it even more special, at the end of my welcome speech, he was the first one on his feet for a standing ovation. Is it any wonder that I adore that man? <3 br="">3>
And guess what made the weekend even specialer? I got to spend some quality time with some of my very favorite peeps. Kara, who came all the way from Arkansas and whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday, Kara! And Jackie and Gayle, who came from Georgia. Along with my precious friend Marie from here in Birmingham. We stayed up late Saturday night, ate pizza, and giggled like crazed teenagers.
As soon as I get my week a little better organized, I'll share some photos of the day with you.
I'm currently reading Cynthia Eden's newest book in her 'Mine' series, Mine To Hold, and thoroughly enjoying it.
This week I'm going to finalize CHANCES ARE to re-upload it and then get back to work on NOTHING TO LOSE, which I have to admit, is becoming one of my most favorite books ever. Can't wait till I can get it into your hands. Fingers crossed it won't be too much longer!
Enough about me. What about you? Did you read some great books last week? Remember Pamela Clare's Striking Distance comes out tomorrow. Another fabulous I-Team book. Can't wait!
Now tell us what great books you read last week and what books you're looking forward to reading soon.
Have a great week all!
Surprise! :)

Good Monday All!
So sorry I'm late. Busy Monday already and I don't think it's going to slow down for a while. Which is great. Keeps me out of trouble. :)
Since I am running behind, thought I'd make this one short. I'm in the middle of reading Halfway to the Grave by Jeannine Frost and loving it. It's not my regular kind of read, which is great, too. Love finding new authors and different kinds of reads. And who could resist a hero like Bones? Oh my. Sigh... :)
Did some major surgery on NOTHING TO LOSE last week and I believe I'm finally headed in the right direction. Had to cut thousands of words but better to do that now, than write the whole book and realize it's not what I want. May take me longer but the last thing I want to do is put out a book that I'm not happy with. Thanks so much for everyone's patience. I promise it will pay off!
Okay, here's the new cover for CHANCES ARE I've been promising you. Designed by the amazingly talented cover artist PickyMe, I think this cover gives the suspenseful ambiance of the story. And I love the colors! Even though it'll be a few more weeks before it goes up, I couldn't wait any longer to show it off. Let me know what you think.
And now, tell us what you read last week that you loved.

Hope you had a great weekend, filled with some exciting reads you can't wait to tell us about. For a change, I have a couple myself!
Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to share some blog contest ideas with me here and by email. I received some excellent suggestions! It's going to take me a few weeks to go through all of them and choose the ones that will work best for me. As soon as I decide, I'll announce it here. Stay tuned!
Congratulations to Tara Tseng, who sent her suggestions via email. Tara, since I have your email address, I'll send you the $15 Amazon card that way.
Got lots to do this week. I'm finishing up some minor changes to CHANCES ARE before sending it to the formatter. Be warned: If you love the current cover, with the exotic dancer, be sure to grab your copy soon. I'll be changing the cover within the next few weeks. And next week, I'll share that sexy new cover with you. Here's the Amason link to order the book with the current cover: CHANCES ARE
NOTHING TO LOSE is coming along a little slower than I'd like, but it is coming. Whenever I start a new series, I dive in with all the excitement of a kid opening presents at Christmas. Around page 75, I tend to stall out and begin the struggle for words. The first book in a series sets the tone for the entire series, so not only do I need to write the story for the main characters, I need to determine the series theme. It's often slow going as I learn these things but it's well worth the time I take. RESCUE ME was like that, as was MIDNIGHT SECRETS. Usually after that first book is complete, subsequent stories come much faster.
I think you'll love the Grey Justice series which revolves around a small, secretive organization that seeks justice for victims when the law fails them. The leader, Grey Justice, is wealthy, mysterious, and seemingly cold-hearted. Of course as we get to know him, we learn there are hidden depths and lots of secrets. I like to think of him as a Noah McCall but with even more bite. :)
I still hope to finish NTL and get it out to you before the end of the year. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise (one of Aunt Gibby's favorite sayings) I can do that. And then it'll be back to work on RUNNING ON EMPTY, Sabrina and Declan's story. Oh how I love this couple together. Such a fabulous history to unravel!
After those two, I'll put on my Ella Grace hat again and get to work on Bri Wilde's story, MIDNIGHT SHADOWS, with the plan on releasing it middle 2014. Bri has already told me several of her secrets and her story is shaping up to be the most emotional of the three sisters. Stay tuned for more as next year progresses.
So that's my writing life in a nutshell. How blessed I am to be working on three separate series, all of which I love. I simply cannot wait to get these books out to you!
Now for the recommends. Last week I read Silent Run by Barbara Freethy and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the first time I'd tried one of her books but I plan on reading many more. Loved her writing!
Also, as many of you know, I am a huge Pamela Clare fan and have been eagerly awaiting her new book in her I-Team series, Striking Distance. It releases on November 5 and I already have it on pre-order. However, I was so excited to learn that she was releasing a prequel to the book called First Strike. It's now on sale and I downloaded it last night. I've heard that it's super steamy and I cannot wait to open my Kindle and get started. If you've never read Pamela Clare I encourage you to give her a try. For those of you who have, you know how fabulous she is. To help you out, here's the Kindle link: First Strike

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a good, restful weekend filled with great reading. Is the weather beautiful where you are? We're having an exceptionally warm fall but it's been absolutely beautiful. I think October has the most beautiful skies--such an intense, piercing blue. I haven't seen a lot of leaves changing yet. Are they changing where you are? The Maple tree in our front yard is showing a little color. In a few weeks the leaves should be a bright cinnamon.
Last week was busy work for me. Didn't get a lot of reading or writing done however I did get to do lots of planning. Oh, and I read the first draft of my welcome speech for the Southern Magic Readers luncheon to the hubby. I was pleased he laughed in almost all the appropriate places. :)
Thanks to everyone who commented for a chance to win a signed copy of SWEET REWARD with its gorgeous UK cover. The winners are: Lori and Karen Harvey! Ladies, please email me at christy@christyreece.com so we can discuss prize delivery.
No recommends from me today but I do have a favor to ask. I'm wanting to do a big giveaway sometime in December and I want to get as many people to enter as possible. I know many of you visit other author blogs and enter giveaways. Are there any contests you've entered lately that you thought were fun, got lots of people involved, and worked really well? Since I need to devote most of my time on writing, I don't want it too complicated. However, my goal is to bring lots of new people over to my website and hopefully entice them to read my books. Yep, I have ulterior motives. :) So any suggestions? You can give the suggestions here or email me at christy@christyreece.com. And to entice you to give an opinion, I'll give away a $15 Amazon card, chosen from the people who gave a suggestion. Winner announced on next week's Recommend Monday. So you have a whole week to come up with some ideas.
Okay, that's it for me. I'm headed into the writing cave to see what kind of trouble Kennedy, Nick, and the Grey Justice gang have gotten themselves into.
Hope you have a lovely, productive week. Can't wait to see your contest suggestions and your great read recommendations!

Happy UK Release of SWEET REWARD!
Hey Everyone!
Today is the UK release of SWEET REWARD, the 9th book in the Last Chance Rescue series! I think I've mentioned before that this book was one of the most fun to write. I absolutely adored Jared and Mia together. And take a look at this sexy UK cover! Oh Jared...sigh...
Want to win a signed copy? I'm giving away two! Just comment below for a chance to win. I'll announce the winners on next week's Recommend Monday!
The ninth novel in New York Times bestselling author Christy Reece's addictive Last Chance Rescue series of sexy suspense and thrilling adventure.
Adrenaline junkie Jared Livingston has found the perfect blend of exhilaration and danger in his new job at Last Chance Rescue. Raised to depend only on himself, Jared tried marriage, but the end of the relationship renewed his belief that he was meant to be a loner. Now a desperate plea from his ex-wife puts Jared in the unique position of using the skills she despised to rescue her missing daughter. The case brings Jared face-to-face with Mia Ryker, the only agent ever fired from LCR - for playing too far outside the box. Now Mia's back, and as a team, they're as compatible as fuel and fire. Their search for the innocent child takes them to places neither have been before - to the edge of danger and to the edge of their hearts.

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a good weekend and part of its goodness involved some great reads. Even though my TBR list would last me well into the twenty-second century, I'm always in the market for 'just one more' to add to the list.
Thanks for all the kind comments, notes, and emails about MIDNIGHT LIES and the Wildefire series. I'm so thrilled that you're enjoying the Wilde sisters' stories, along with the unique cast of characters in Midnight.
Just a reminder. If you've read and enjoyed the book, leaving a review at Amazon, B&N, Goodreads, and other review sites of your choice are most sincerely appreciated. I don't understand all the whys and hows of these things but reviews do help with sales. And if you've already left a review, thank you so much!
I've received several emails and notes asking about Sabrina's book. I don't have a lot of information for you other than the title, MIDNIGHT SHADOWS, which fits the storyline for Bri perfectly. Hope to have more for you soon. Stay tuned!
For the next foreseeable future, I'm going to be concentrating on NOTHING TO LOSE, the first book in my new series, Grey Justice, Inc. Even though writing has been sporadic the last few weeks and the distractions have been many, I am still loving this story and its intriguing characters. I so look forward to introducing you to them soon. And a cover reveal, too!
Both my websites need some updating. I try to keep them current but at least once a year, I make a major update. It's getting close to that time so if you have suggestions on things you'd like to see added or changed for Christy Reece site or Ella Grace site, feel free to shoot me an email and let me know.
On Thursday, October 10, SWEET REWARD will be released in the UK. Be sure to stop by here on release day for a chance to win a signed copy!
Okay that's it for me. Got a busy busy week ahead and am eager to get started. Characters are screaming at me to pay attention to them. When that happens, I have no choice but to listen and obey. They are the boss of me! :)
Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Now, tell us what you read and loved last week!

Hey Everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. And happy Autumn to us all! Soon leaves will be turning gorgeous rich colors, fragrances like pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg will be wafting through the crisp, chilled air and we'll be curling up under a warm, toasty blanket with a hot cup of cocoa and a good book. Makes me smile to think of it.

This week and the next two I'll be dividing my time between Christy Reece books and Ella Grace's new release, MIDNIGHT LIES. I'm hearing such wonderful things from readers about how much they're loving Quinn and Samantha's story. Since my publisher offered it up to early reviews on Net Galley and had several giveaways, many people have been able to read it early. If you've not read it yet, don't worry, it'll be everywhere next week!
As a countdown to the September 24 release, I'm having a giveaway a day over on Ella Grace website beginning tomorrow. If you love books, gift cards, and more books, you will not want to miss this event!
Also, please join me Tuesday, September 24 over on Ella Grace's Facebook page for a special release day event. Lots of prizes and lots and lots of fun.
As you see from the post below this, the UK edition of SWEET REVENGE released last Thursday. Thank you to all who entered the giveaway here and on my Facebook page. The blog winner is: Angela Ingram! Congrats, Angela! Send your mailing address to Christy@christyreece.com and I'll get the book out to you soon.
This week, in between my characters taking me from Houston to Dallas to Austin, Texas, I'm going to be preparing blogs and interviews for upcoming blog appearances. Stay tuned for more information on that.
And I'm excited to say that even though my week was very busy, I did take the time to devour an absolutely delicious book by new to me author, Rachel Grant. Body of Evidence was a riveting read from the first page to the very last. The action never let up and it was clear that the author definitely knows her stuff. Check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'll definitely be reading more of her work.
Okay, that's it for me this week. I hope to see you on my Ella Grace site tomorrow for the first big giveaway.
Have a great week all. And now, tell us what fabulous books we should be reading!
Hope you had a great weekend and read something you can't wait to tell us about.

Good Monday All!
How was your weekend? A good one? Did you get in some reading? If so, can't wait to hear about your favorites.
I spent last week in Dallas, Mexico, Virginia, and Paris. Needless to say it was a busy week. :)
This week I will be concentrating on my villains. It occurred to me that I don't know them as well as I should. And you know how I love a good villain.
Also, I'm gearing up for a week of giveaways counting down to the release of MIDNIGHT LIES. Instead of my usual release day party, I'm having a giveaway each day beginning Tuesday, September 17 until September 24. So be sure to check my Ella Grace website beginning next Tuesday. I'll have more information to share in next week's post.
Here's a bit of news. CHANCES ARE is about to get a gorgeous new cover! Though I still love the original one, I'm changing the look in preparation for future LCR books so there will be as much continuity as possible. I'll reveal it soon but if you love the current cover and don't have the book yet, be sure to grab it up soon before it's gone.
Okay that's it for me. I'm offline the rest of the week getting to know my bad guys. Can't wait to see what evil deeds they've been plotting.
Have a great week all! Now tell us what we should be reading!

Good Monday Everyone and Happy Labor Day!
How was your weekend? And for those celebrating Labor Day with a long weekend, are you having a good one?
My weekend was filled with celebrating my mom's birthday, football, writing, and reading. The perfect weekend! And last week was another fabulous one filled with traveling and fascinating characters. I am loving both of these books and can't wait to get them out to you.
We're 22 days away from the release of MIDNIGHT LIES. Seems like I've been waiting for this release forever. I can't wait for you to meet Quinn Braddock. I hope you fall in love with him as much as I did. He is perfect for Samantha. And though it takes them a while to work things out--a murderer on the loose has a tendency to delay a happy ending--they do get their happy ever after. If you're looking for the book, here are a few links you can pre-order:
Amazon
Barnes and Noble
Book Depository
And stayed tuned for contest news as we get closer to the release date.
Okay, that's it for me. I'm going to be doing a little reading today and hopefully writing, too. It's a lovely, rainy day here in Bama, perfect for my plans.

Recommend Monday with a Twist
Hey Everyone!
How was your weekend? Are you excited about the new week? I am! Monday offers so many possibilities for good things to happen! :)
Last week was home project week and though we didn't accomplish everything we set out to do, we are close to being ready for company. My mom's got a BIG birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. She's coming to visit for a few days and we plan to wine and dine her silly. Looking forward to lots of fun times ahead.
This week it's back to NOTHING TO LOSE with Kennedy and Nick. Can't wait to see what they're up to! I also plan to spend some time with Sabrina and Declan in RUNNING ON EMPTY. Last time I checked in with them, something explosive was about to happen! Hope everyone is all right!
Don't forget that my publisher is giving away 50 copies of MIDNIGHT LIES. Only 11 days left to enter. Midnight Lies Goodreads Giveaway
Also, I noticed that Night Owl Reviews is giving away 20 copies. The deadline is August 23, so be sure to hurry over there and enter! Night Owl Reviews Midnight Lies Giveaway
Here's something super fun. On Wednesday I'll be over at the awesome Norah Wilson's site for Workplace Wednesday where I'll be sharing photos of my office, along with a few other things. I'll also be giving away a signed copy of MIDNIGHT SECRETS and a digital copy of CHANCES ARE. As soon as I have the link, I'll pop on and give it to you. Hope to see everyone there.
Okay, last week I issued a challenge. Not only do I want us to share our favorite reads from last week but also give us your top ten, fifteen, twenty, etc. from your TBR list. It'll be a great way to share even more recommends. And if some of them haven't been released yet, no worries. A few of us might not know that a book is coming out so you'll be helping us out.
My recommend this week is The Unwanted Wife by Natasha Anders. It was a very different read for me but a delightful surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
As for my top ten books I'm looking forward to reading soon? Here goes:
Once Burned by Susan Vaughan
Profile of Evil by Alexa Grace
Whiskey Rebellion by Liliana Hart
She Can Tell by Melinda Leigh
Forgotten Sins by Rebecca Zanetti
Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
Every Breath She Takes by Norah Wilson
Hidden by Kendra Elliot
Watch Your Back by Karen Rose (releases February 4, 2014)
So that's my 'up next' list. What about you? And what were your favorite reads from last week?

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend filled with some great reads. Are you keeping a list like I am? When I'm on deadline I don't have the time to read as much as I want but I have an ongoing list that I'm continually adding to, so when I do have the time, I know what to go looking for. In fact, that just gave me an idea! If you do have a list, why don't we share them? We can swap, like recipes! Next week, come prepared to give us your top 5, 10, 15... Or however many you want to share. It'll be fun to compare!
Last week I wrote a little less that I had hoped but I am still very happy with my results. I have a cover for NOTHING TO LOSE. Yay! My cover goal for this series is to have a consistency the LCR series didn't have. Each book will have a different cover but there will be similarities so a reader can see immediately that it's a Grey Justice novel. I love the first cover! Can't wait to share with you. Stay tuned!
So excited that Publishers Weekly reviewed MIDNIGHT LIES and gave it a wonderful review, saying: "This is a fine example of romantic suspense, with an alpha hero who has a sensitive side, a tough and feisty heroine who sometimes acts like a damsel waiting to be swept off her feet, and plenty of twists and turns. Fans of the genre will be well pleased."
Don't forget that if you're on Goodreads and in the U.S., my publisher is giving away 50 copies. Deadline is 8/31, so enter soon! Midnight Lies Goodreads Giveaway
This week hubby and I are concentrating on some home projects we've been putting off. Probably won't get a lot of writing done but I have a feeling my characters will continue to talk with me. To that end, I'm carrying a notebook around with me so I won't miss a thing! Then next week I'll give full concentration to Kennedy and Nick. When I reach 50,000 words, I'll share another excerpt with you!
Okay, that's it for me. Next week, be sure to come prepared to share your TBR list. It'll be fun to see what everyone's looking forward to reading. But for now, tell us what you read last week that you loved.

This past weekend, I filled out the art sheet for two books. I'm going to change the cover for CHANCES ARE in preparation for the upcoming LCR books as I want them all to have the same sort of look. If you love the current CHANCES ARE cover and haven't purchased it yet, be sure to do so within the next few weeks. Also, I'm preparing to choose the cover for the first book in my new series. I'm so excited about these two series and the plans I have for them. Can't wait to share more soon!

Hope you had a great weekend. Can't wait to hear what great books you read last week.
As you know, I attended the RWA Conference in Atlanta last week and what a fabulous week it was. Seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and attending wonderful workshops were the highlights. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learned so much.
I returned home, excited about so many things, including what lies ahead. Can't wait to share more with you!
Since the conference and other goings on occupied me from morning till night, I didn't have a chance to read anything. However, I did collect some amazing looking books and can't wait to dive in to them.
This week I'm making lots of different plans and writing, writing, writing. NOTHING TO LOSE is coming on strong. I've just met Grey Justice (I refer to him as the Noah McCall of the new series) and he is everything I wanted to him be and so much more. I cannot wait until you meet him, along with Nick Gallagher, who stole my heart five minutes after I met him. Sigh. :)
Sorry about another short post but hopefully you'll forgive me knowing that I'm concentrating on getting a new book out to you asap!
Have a great week all. And now, tell us what we should be reading!

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend. Did you read something great? Can't wait to hear about it.
Today's post is a short one. I'm packing for RWA Nationals...leaving tomorrow morning. Don't forget if you're going to be there to stop by my table at the literacy signing Wednesday night and say hey. I'll have chocolate and books! Here are the details: Literacy Signing
I always get so energized and excited about the conference. A thousand or more people who love the written word all together in one place. Such fun!
Last week I mentioned that I was reading Kill Shot by Liliana Hart and was loving it. Well I finished it over the weekend and let me just say it was one of the best romantic suspense books I've read in a while. I love this author's writing style and her characters are wonderful. I highly recommend this book to all romantic suspense lovers.
Okay, that's it for me. Clothes to pack, nails to paint, and words to write. Still working on and thoroughly enjoying NOTHING TO LOSE. Can't wait till I can share some snippets with you.
Have a wonderful week everyone. Now, tell us what we should be reading!

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend and in the U.S., a fantastic Independence Day. And thanks to those who commented on the blog about your favorite way to celebrate the 4th. Congrats to Laurie for winning the following: NO CHANCE, SECOND CHANCE, LAST CHANCE, a digital download of CHANCES ARE, a signed copy of Ella Grace's MIDNIGHT SECRETS, $15 Amazon gift card, and surprises! Yay, Laurie! Will contact you soon for prize delivery.
My family had planned our usual 4th get together but postponed it because of rain. We're still hoping we can get together but every single day, we've had rain. I think we might need to get together and start building an ark!
Since I couldn't be with my family, I spent most of the holiday with my new characters. NOTHING TO LOSE is coming along very well. And I'm almost to the point that when I read over what I've written, I don't sob. LOL As you might guess, this book is not a comedy. However, I do see an HEA on the horizon. But you know how I love to torture my characters. :)
I didn't read a lot last week, but did start a new book yesterday and am already enthralled. I think it was a book that someone recommended on my Facebook page--Kill Shot by Liliana Hart. Anyone read it? It starts off with an incredibly evil villain (which you know I love) and then introduces a tough but vulnerable heroine and a super sexy hero. Sigh... I can't wait to get back to it.
I'm going on a major writing binge this week. Next week I'll be at the RWA National Convention in Atlanta and I know I won't be able to write as much as I want. Will any of you be at the conference? If so, I hope you'll say hey if you see me. Would love to meet you!
Okay, that's it for me. I'm headed back to Kennedy and Nick in NTL. Can't wait to see what they're up to now!

Welcome Naima Simone!
I'm so excited to welcome
Naima Simone to the blog. Naima is one of the loveliest young ladies I've ever
known. Anyone in her presence more than a minute will immediately feel better.
She brings joy.
And Naima also write fabulous romance. Not only does she write deliciously steamy romance for Elora's Cave, she got a new romantic suspense series from Entangle Publishing. I was fortunate enough to read an ARC of Secrets and Sins: Gabriel, which released last week. What a fabulous, emotional, and suspenseful story! I was thrilled to give a quote for it. And what about the cover? Oh my!
So please give a very warm welcome to one of my favorite people, Naima Simone!
Thou Shalt Not…
Thank you so much, Christy, for letting me visit with you and your
readers today! I’m so excited as you are one of my absolute favorite romantic
suspense authors. You’re right up there with Ella Grace! :-D
So as the granddaughter and daughter of pastors—does that make me a PK²
?—I spent a looot of time in church while growing up. And most of it was spent
trying to avoid my mother’s “Death Stare” beamed from the choir stand all the
way to the back of the church where I sat. The woman possessed a sixth sense
when it came to my whispering, note-passing shenanigans! She was downright
scary. Because I was young, much of the messages went totally over my head…except
when Grandpop or Daddy started talking about “the bad stuff” people did.
Sin.
A hush would fall over the church...well aside from the low, knowing
murmurings of “Mmhmm” and “Say it, Pastor”. The sudden quiet, whispering and
sidelong glances clued me in that whatever Grandpop and Daddy were talking
about, it was goooood. Cain did what to his brother? So what exactly did David
do with Bathsheba? Solomon had how many wives??
Sin.
If someone dropped it in a room full of people, all the chatter would
probably die down so everyone could try and catch the titillating details of
who did the deed, just how sinful it was and if they were caught. The word
causes a shudder to ripple down people’s spines. Stirs images of lascivious
activity in their imaginations. Clenches their stomachs in anxiety or fear. It’s
a lovely, terrible, delicious word…
We have a tendency to create a hierarchy of sin. Adultery is not as
heinous as murder. Lying isn’t as terrible as stealing. But sin doesn’t occur
in a vacuum. It always affects others. It spills over, tainting, altering…even
killing…
In my new romantic suspense Secrets and Sins: Gabriel released from
Entangled Publishing, Gabriel Devlin and his three best friends became
guardians of a dark secret because of a terrible sin. This transgression changed
their lives, altered who they once were to the men they matured into. After
receiving an anonymous letter, Leah Bannon, a private investigator and Gabriel’s
friend, decides to open the cold case revolving around the disappearance of her
uncle. Now, in spite of his growing—and resented—attraction toward her, Gabriel
has to keep her from discovering the truth and protecting a pact made decades
earlier.
Are you tempted yet? How about this? On top of the big giveaway at the
end of the tour, I’m also offering up a separate $10 Amazon Gift Card for this
stop! Just leave a comment naming one of the 7 Deadly Sins and your email
address, and I’ll randomly choose a winner.
Also, don’t forget through July 24th you have a chance to
enter a giveaway for a $30 Amazon Gift Card and a “Boston Strong” swag pack!
Just go HERE to enter the Rafflecopter on the HOME page!
Secrets and Sins: Gabriel
“Emotional, suspenseful, and
sexy, with wonderful characters…”—Christy Reece, New York Times Bestselling
Author
Twenty years ago, Leah Bannon’s beloved Uncle Richard vanished without a trace. Leah, now a private investigator, begins to suspect it was murder. When she reopens the cold case, Gabriel Devlin—-the man she loves but can never have—-inexplicably stands in her way.
Only
four people know the truth about Richard’s mysterious disappearance—-Gabriel
and three childhood friends...who have all sworn to take that secret to the
grave. But a hidden enemy wants those shocking secrets brought to light...even
if he has to kill to make it happen.
After
experiencing an unimaginable loss two years ago, Gabriel refuses to put himself
through the pain of loving someone who could be gone in an instant. But as he
thwarts Leah’s investigation at every turn—-both to keep his friends’ pact, and
to keep her safe from danger—-the sexy PI makes it impossible for him to
protect his secrets. Or his heart...

Good Monday All!
Hope you had a fun weekend, enhanced with some really great reads.
If you didn't get the chance yet, be sure to read my post before this one to see what's going on in my writing life. I also addressed several questions I've received about the future of LCR. If it doesn't answer all your questions, you know you can always ask.
I haven't mentioned this here yet, but I am going to be at the RWA conference in Atlanta, which begins two weeks from Wednesday. (Anyone else surprised that it's already July?!) I'll be at the literacy signing on Wednesday night, so if you're there, I hope you'll come by and say hey. Would love to meet you. I'll have chocolate! Oh, and books too. :)
Since I've got myself scheduled so tightly with three different series, I'm not going to be online very much the next few months. However Recommend Monday is a must, so you'll always hear from me then. Also, stayed tuned for a 4th of July announcement and a special giveaway you won't want to miss!
Tomorrow I have a special guest visiting on the blog. Naima Simone is one of my Southern Magic chaptermates and is one of the loveliest and most vibrant people I know. She has a new romantic suspense series with Entangled Publishing and the first book, Secrets and Sins: Gabriel came out last week. I was fortunate enough to read an advanced copy of the book and loved it! I hope you'll make a point of coming by tomorrow and learning more about Naima and her wonderful books.
Since I've been concentrating on writing, I've not had a lot of time to read lately. However, I have been listening to Ella Grace's MIDNIGHT SECRETS on audio and am surprised by how much I am enjoying it considering I know everything that's going to happen. Other than one particular voice, the narrator is doing a great job. I especially love the way she reads Aunt Gibby. If you have the book on Kindle, you can purchase the audio for $3.99, which is what I did. Works great on my phone!
Okay, that's it for me. I hope you'll come back tomorrow and chat with Naima. And don't forget to come by on July 4 for a fun giveaway.
Have a great Monday all. Now, tell us what we should be reading!

A long post in which Christy answers questions, clears up misunderstandings, and discusses the future.
Hi Everyone!
I've received so many emails regarding the LCR series, where it's headed, what I'm working on, and what's up next, I thought a general post might be helpful. Feel free to ask me questions here or you can always email me or message me on Facebook or Twitter.
Disclaimer: Keep in mind that these are my plans for right now. Life has a tendency to throw curve balls when we least expect them. However, unless something drastically changes, this is my writing agenda for the foreseeable future.
Let me address the most asked about issues first:
Q) The ending of CHANCES ARE was either a cliff hanger, a new beginning, or the end of the LCR series. Which was it?
A) I'm so sorry for the confusion on this. What's in my mind as clear and concise doesn't always come across that way on paper. The LCR series is definitely not ending. However, in a way, it is a new beginning for the series. While writing CHANCES ARE, I realized that people who had never read an LCR book might find it daunting to pick up #10 in the series. Also, I really wanted/needed to attract new readers to the series. So it was a delicate balance for me to bring long-time LCR readers up to date on previous couples without alienating new readers and making them feel lost.
My thought process was two-fold. If a person had never read any of the previous LCR books, I hoped she would like the book well enough to go back and read the previous nine. However, I wanted to give a reader the option of picking up CHANCES ARE and being able to read it and future books without feeling as though she was missing something if she didn't read the previous books. As I said, a delicate balance.
The ending of CHANCES ARE was a way for me to show that more books were coming (I obviously didn't do that well enough) and to get readers excited about new characters and new books.
Q) Why is Noah leaving? Will he not be part of LCR anymore?
A) Noah McCall is and always will be the leader of Last Chance Rescue. He will just be running the operation from a different location. As I was writing CHANCES ARE, I started thinking about Samara's family. If you'll remember in RETURN TO ME, she's very close with them. Now that she and Noah have two children, wouldn't she want them to see their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins more often? And if there's one thing Noah McCall wants to do, it's to make his Mara happy. Having them living in Paris when her family is in Virginia just seemed wrong. Hence the move.
And LCR is growing. You'll see some of your favorite characters running branch offices and a few who aren't with the organization any longer may be returning. The future is brighter than ever for the Last Chance Rescue organization.
Q) When will the next LCR book be out and who will it feature?
A) The next LCR book is RUNNING ON EMPTY, featuring Sabrina Fox and Declan Steele. As you'll remember from CHANCES ARE, Sabrina is an LCR operative and, in Angela's opinion, possibly the most lethal operative in the organization. Declan Steele is a man from Sabrina's past. So far, there's a tremendous amount of angst and action in the first few chapters. I think you're going to love these two vulnerable but damaged people. But be warned, Declan is a very damaged and bitter man--with good reason. You might not like him at the beginning but I promise you, that will change. :)
To give you a small taste, here's the first line of RUNNING ON EMPTY:
Declan Steele returned from the dead a changed man.
Sound intriguing? I hope so! I don't have a release date for this book. Since I'm self publishing them, giving exact dates is impossible. Also, I have another project ahead of it, which makes predicting a possible release date even more difficult. Just be sure to check my website and blog from time to time to keep up with what's going on. Also, make sure you sign up for my newsletter. I will send out an announcement to all subscribers on the day of a new book release.
Q) What about other LCR books?
A) After RUNNING ON EMPTY, the next book is RUNNING SCARED featuring Justin Kelly and Riley Grant. Then it's RUNNING WILD, which is Aidan Thorne's story. After these three are released, I truly do not know. The series may end or I might keep it going, depending upon the interest.
Q) You have another project you're working on? What's that about?
A) Yes, I'm writing a new book, that may or may not be the beginning of a new series. It just depends on how the first one pans out. If it does turn into a series, I only have two books in mind so far. However, I hope to meet some new characters in the midst of writing (like I did with Last Chance Rescue books) and write their stories, too.
The first book, NOTHING TO LOSE, features Kennedy O'Connell and Nick Gallagher. The second book, A MATTER OF JUSTICE, features Grey Justice and an as yet unnamed heroine. Details are murky, sketchy, and mushy, so stayed tuned as my muse whispers the story to me.
I am incredibly excited about this new book. Story content will be similar to LCR books in that it will be full of action, suspense, and steamy romance. Can't wait till I can tell you more about it. So far, I will say it is the most emotionally charged and angst-filled book I have ever written and I am head over heels in love with my characters. Yay!
Q) Will there be more Wildefire books?
A) Yes, I do intend to write Sabrina's story, MIDNIGHT SHADOWS. I also want to write a story for Brody James, Logan Wright, and Josh Adams, Zach's half-brother. I think you'll understand why I definitely need to write one for Brody and Logan once you read MIDNIGHT LIES. And though Josh hasn't started talking to me yet, I have a vague story idea for him so hopefully by the time I'm ready to write his book, he'll be willing to talk.
Q) And then what?
A) I have 3 books I finished years ago that I really want to get out to you. The first two need some serious editing. Oddly enough, the third one is almost ready but I can't release it until I finish the first two since it is a connected trilogy. These books are heavy romance with a healthy dose of suspense. I'd love to think I could get these out to you sometime next year. Fingers and toes crossed!
Q) Anything else?
A) Every day it seems there's something new, which is totally thrilling to me. I have an idea for another romantic suspense and possibly a sexy anthology to introduce it. Will have to wait and see what Agatha says. You know she's the boss of me!
What did I miss addressing or answering? Ask away!
